zoea2812 Posted June 2, 2008 at 08:42 AM Posted June 2, 2008 at 08:42 AM I just hope Celine does what SHE wants to do and focuses on what she wants out of life. Hopefully if Celine does do a show in Vegas I would be able to go as last time I never got to go and see her. But if she wants to focus on family then I will be very happy for her. I am very grateful that i have seen the phenomenon that is Celine 3 times and I am so lucky. CELINE IS THE GREATEST!!!! http://www.celinerific.com/Signatures/NHASig1.jpg
hamiltonclare Posted June 2, 2008 at 09:34 PM Posted June 2, 2008 at 09:34 PM I really hope that she takes a break and focuses on what SHE wants to do. I'd pay whatever to see her in Vegas again, but I can wait, I'm not going anywhere!! Who cares if she is not so focused on work now - RC is great, lets hope that she and Rene have another child, because to all intents and puposes, thats what will make them happy. I think Vegas was a great call for her family rather than touring and dragging everyone around the world. Fancy pants hotels are fine, but nothing beats sleeping in your own bed at night. If she goes back to Vegas for a while, good luck to her.If she disappears for a few years to spend time with her husband and son, and tries to fall with another baby, good luck to her.If she decides that she's had enough and wants to retire - i'll be heartbroken - but good luck to her. Javito Posted June 2, 2008 at 09:43 PM Posted June 2, 2008 at 09:43 PM (edited) Why can't she just settle anywhere she wants but without singing 4/5 days a week, forcing to the extreme her voice, and ruining her career because she is far away from everything related to the real world? I mean she can raise another child in Las Vegas, China or the artic pole, but she doesn't need to do again the damage she has done to her career in the past five years Edited June 2, 2008 at 09:43 PM by Gonzalillo "Hush, now... stevethefan Posted June 2, 2008 at 10:03 PM Posted June 2, 2008 at 10:03 PM (edited) I would love it if she came back to LV even if it was not long term. I think it would be a little easier than before if she came back because the last time everything was a big unknown, whether or not it would work or not and if people would go to the show. Now that she has been so successful at it new shows would not be as risky. But if she does this it would probably not start until a few years from now. Edited June 2, 2008 at 10:05 PM by stevethefan
Shaun Posted June 2, 2008 at 10:14 PM Posted June 2, 2008 at 10:14 PM Celine will return to The Colosseum one day, whether it's for a few shows or a longer engagement like "A New Day..." was. Let's make no mistake about it though, if she and Rene choose to base in Las Vegas permanently again we can forget about Celine's international career continuing. She proved first time around in Vegas that you cannot continue to release singles and albums around the world and expect them to be successful whilst committing yourself to a production show 5 nights a week in Las Vegas. Sadly, I feel it's already in the script for Celine to return once again permanently to Las Vegas and feel that if she does her legacy in show business internationally will not be "biggest selling female artist" or "the best singer the world has seen", it will simply be the singer who retired to Vegas during her 40's that no-one will be interested in unless they happen to choose Vegas as the place for their holiday. Vegas was cool the first time around. It was risky, it set a precedent that others followed, it sold out night after night. But doing it all over again? Go back and the critics who had it for Celine, and still do, may very well have a point that Celine and rene and just flat out of inspiration in terms of career moves. Celine deserves more. Go back and the critics who had it for Celine, and still do, may very well have a point that Celine and rene and just flat out of inspiration in terms of career moves. Celine deserves more. This is the point when I get angry and mad about Céline's recording label, something called like "Sony BMG". Aren't they supposed to promote and release good stuff from her albums even if Céline has been shut in Las Vegas during 5 years?. They are supposed to do that, but they did hardly anything with 4 good albums thrown now to the trash And I wonder why René and Céline allow that! Why can't she just settle anywhere she wants but without singing 4/5 days a week, forcing to the extreme her voice, and ruining her career because she is far away from everything related to the real world? Her career has been since she entered that colosseum and its now with a touché, its wounded and we have seen it during the past 5 years and we can see it now The attention from the media, TV's, radios towards her new music is almost null, and even her recording company (!!) does anything to save it "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
critias Posted June 2, 2008 at 11:42 PM Posted June 2, 2008 at 11:42 PM if it's what she really really really really really wants why not. but professionally it would be a wreckage.
Shaun Posted June 2, 2008 at 11:56 PM Posted June 2, 2008 at 11:56 PM Her career has been since she entered that colosseum and its now with a touché, its wounded and we have seen it during the past 5 years and we can see it now The attention from the media, TV's, radios towards her new music is almost null, and even her recording company (!!) does anything to save it Whilst I agree with almost everything you say, especially regarding Sony, it has to be said that Celine had the biggest chance EVER to capture a new audience with the release of "Taking Chances." The music media around the world were eagerly awaiting Celine's new material upon hearing the rumours of collaborations with Snoop Dog, Timbaland and the rest. People were genuinely interested in hearing Celine's new material. Even if it was highly embarrassing in the end I guarantee it would've been played around the world out of sheer interest. Sony are sending her material to radio and TV. They just aren't playing it. However, someone (Sony? Celine? Rene?) decided to go down the safe route and fill the album with songs which, frankly, aren't all that radical or modern. Yes, they are new and fresh for Celine but not for the music world. They decided to go with "Taking Chances", a cover, as the lead off single and the first 90 seconds of that song would immediately give every Celine critic in the world the ammo they love to have against Celine. It offered nothing new and interesting. No-one is expecting Celine to throw off her clothes and film sexual music videos like the other divas are now doing but what the music world (and even her fans?) wanted her to do was remain relevant and drag herself into the new century musically. It's painful to watch Celine struggle on the charts these days but the point is people are still wanting to hear Celine but they want to hear her do something different and more up to date. "Taking Chances", "Eyes On Me", and "Alone" were none of these things. Perhaps the remixed "Eyes On Me" could've worked but only perhaps. So in the end, perhaps a return to Vegas is the best move for Celine. If she's not willing to take chances musically perhaps she can come up with another innovative show in Vegas to perform in for the next 20 years. Celinenvegas Posted June 3, 2008 at 12:17 AM Posted June 3, 2008 at 12:17 AM I doubt Celine will try and do another show like "A New Day" in Vegas, she's don it and done it well. There's no point on trying to reclaim past glory and everyone will only compare it. I do think she may do some shows there but not a long production show like AND. I think TC was an edgy album for Celine to release, it's different from her previous releases. I also think that Taking Chances was a good choice for the 1st single, but if you don't have label & radio support then it's not gonna be huge. We know Sony has never really focused on singles with Celine, but many album sales. They tend to do that with all their established artists. I think she should relax after this long tour, but you know, the dvd will come, then probably some kinda hits cd or another album. It never ends for her, she needs a vacation! LOL ~J O E Y~
stevethefan Posted June 3, 2008 at 12:30 AM Posted June 3, 2008 at 12:30 AM The thing is I'm not so sure she wants to live in LV for such a long time anymore. THey built a new home in Florida which I'm assuming is where they want to start spending much of their time from now on. I can't imagine her wanting to commit to doing any kind of long term show in LV like the last time, although originally that was only supposed to be two or three years not five. I could see her doing what Cher and Bette Midler have been doing where they only do it for a few months. The thing that will be interesting to me if she does any kind of show in LV is how long the contract would be because you know that the people at Caesars would LOVE to have her back and fill that auditorium to capacity again. They'd like to probably see her there forever so you know with her track record they would not have any issue signing her for some big long term contract. I'm not sure how Cher and Bette's attendance has been although I'm assuming it's been good. Everything now is just speculation so we will just have to wait and see.

If she's not willing to take chances musically perhaps she can come up with another innovative show in Vegas to perform in for the next 20 years. I agree. There's another thread on the forum talking about Celine's musical relevance in 2008. The album Taking Chances really didn't do much to put Celine back on the map. There was so much anticipation for her first studio album in years, that EVERYONE was talking about it, especially since they could link that album to the nearing of the end for A New Day... in Vegas. GREAT news headlines, conversation pieces and interview material. Instead, we were given the same ol song n dance routine from not only Sony, but Celine and Rene as well. If Celine's new album from here on out are going to be this type of non label supported fluff, then she's doing a good job of following in some of her idol's foot steps [think Barbra Streisand and the like], where soon she will limit herself to an album every 5 years or so and a couple of shows here and there, but nothing major. Celine, Rene, Rene-Charles and maybe another kid will end up living the good life together in their palatial new home in Florida, and we won't hear from her until she's ready. And when she is ready, it will be some Barbara Walters exclusive interview driven with a world premier televised show and attempt to take the entertainment community by storm. We will wait and see. LOL
Timster Posted June 7, 2008 at 10:22 PM Posted June 7, 2008 at 10:22 PM Deep Down I Have had a feeling that Celine knew that she might come back because there way too many songs that were way, way too popular and that never made it in the Show...Maybe waiting for a new show...That's the Way it IsAll By MyselfBeauty and The Beast A New Day Has Come (Radio Remix)Taking ChancesThink TwiceEyes on MeIm Your AngelYou and I *and many other songs that she never sang in vegas the first time around!!-Nmj I would love her to sing those songs in LV!! Especially You and I! This is what I hope Celine will do over the next few years: 2009Q1: Finish off TC World Tour + a few concerts in LV.Q2: Move into house in Florida and CHILL OUT!Q3: Get embryo implanted.Q4: Release some sort of greatest hits album while she's pregnant. 2010Q1: (Pregnant)Q2: (Pregnant), start to plan second LV showQ3: Have baby(!)Q4: Spend time with baby + rest of family 2011Q1: Plan new LV show @ the Colusseum (with Franco Dragone)Q2: Start new LV show (6-7 nights a month?)Q3: Continue with LV show, start to produce new album.Q4: Continue with LV show, release new album This way she will have plenty of time to chill out and recover her voice from 6 years (5 in LV + 1 Tour) of non-stop singing!! Her voice will in perfect condition for her return to LV and for a new album! What do you think?

Hopefully with a show directed by Franco Dragone... ...

Andrei Dion Posted June 17, 2008 at 03:52 PM Posted June 17, 2008 at 03:52 PM I think that's ok. She and René always know the best thing to do. AMO CÉLINE CADA VEZ MAIS!!!
Bellamy Posted June 17, 2008 at 03:58 PM Posted June 17, 2008 at 03:58 PM 75 shows a year, for three years sounds good to me. I'm glad if it really is 75 shows/year. I don't want her to exhaust herself like 200 shows/year again. 75 shows/year is like Elton's schedule. About 15 weeks in Vegas. She would have enough time to rest or do anything else she wants to do. I hope it's a completely new show, or at least most of the songs would be updated. Please support the forum by ordering everything through our special Amazon.com link Click here. Thank you!
Javito Posted June 17, 2008 at 06:02 PM Posted June 17, 2008 at 06:02 PM Céline will return to Vegas starting 2010, 75 shows a year, for three years according to a close source to Céline (which I won't reveal) Ok it is a matter of time to be confirmed soon. I feel so sorry for Céline's career, but if that's what she wants again for her family But its better to start assuming it soon: BYE BYE Céline's career She won't take any chance at all returning there again and nothing good will come to ressolve the situation she has with her career today, except getting worse. I think that's ok. She and René always know the best thing to do. What? "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
