"Eyes On Me" to be second single in UK!

I hate SHADOW OF LOVE, it's boring, narrow and it shouldn't be on the album.

 

I'm happy because of the choise. EYES ON ME is fresh, original and it's th new. I think people will pay their attention to this song.

Eyes on me is my least favorite on the album. Of course I like it because its Celine singing it...but I think the background music is terrible. Hopefully they'll remix it before releasing it on the radio. I don't think non-celine fans will enjoy it. Fade away is the way to go! Damn I can't wait til I work at sony (haha my dream job) so I can tell them how it is. Still...its MUCH better then alone. Two covers in a row would have been bad news.

I think this sing COULD do the trick, but as with just about anything these days, I think its a coin toss. There are so many great songs on the album that could soar as singles FA, SOL, CFTF (<3) This Time (ha, it just occurred to me, that to shorten this title would be confusing with Think Twice) so I think any of them would do just as good as the next one. The bigger issue is how the world associates with Celine Dion. As some people have mentioned before, it could be a great song, but just because its Celine, its not 'cool' or accepted. Only time will tell!

 

EOM is kind of Samba dancing music.

 

I hope the MV could be full of Latin fever~,and Celine could dance with sexy costume

As much as I like Alone, EOM is a better choice- upbeat as oppose to a slow balladl The only concern is the holiday season approaching;most stations will be playing Christmas music. When will the song be released?

fergie & christina released ballad songs from their latest albums, not upbeat tempos and were hits. why celine cant release a ballad song like My Love (i found it good) and have a hit.

I like this song. Not exactly my favorite as Fade away is, but I think it's a good choice. I disagree with people who say she won't play in the radios because other singers have done that before and people just won't admit liking her, even if they do. In my opinion it'll be a hit and will be more played than Taking chances. And that's good beginning I guess!

I think it's an excellent decision from Sony. There are a few "single worthy" songs on the album and "Eyes On Me" is definitley one of them. It's clear they need to do something radical to try to get Celine's music out there and I think choosing "Eyes On Me" as a single proves they are desperate for Celine to have a hit as frankly, "Taking Chances" just did not take off. Yes it's being played on handful of Top 40 stations in the US but that isn't a huge success and from the comments on here it isn't being paid much attention in the rest of the world either.

 

If "Eyes On Me" is to be the next single, it's important Celine's entire team and Sony get right behind it. Get the single to radio across the world simultaneoously, get the video to TV at the same time the song goes to radio and for goodness sake, if Celine's to do any promotional appearances get her to sing her new single and not old material.

 

I could see a potential hit here. Fingers crossed.

Great choice!! I'd rather hear that this song sounds like Shakira or Beyonce than to hear "oh, celine is doing another cover!!". What is more important now is to remove the "adult contemporary" label that she has been stuck with for so long. Of course, it will never go away completely but by releasing a song that will surprise everyone (good or bad) is a great thing to do. We know radio won't support Celine as much as in the past but it's very good that the public will get shocked hearing this song. It's much better to surprise people with EOM than to have a bigger hit with Alone - for her career and artistic merit. I hope she will perform EOM on the American Music Awards on Sunday!!!

:sigh: "Eyes On Me" is one of my least favorite songs from the album. I would have much prefered to have had "Shadow Of Love," "Fade Away," "Surprise Surprise" or "A World To Believe In" as the next single. Oh well. Maybe one of those will be the third choice.

Eyes On Me is a good song and single-worthy, alright, but there are at least FIVE stronger mainstream-sounding tracks in the album that should be released as the second-single (and up to the sixth single, for that matter): Fade Away, This Time, Suprise, Surprise, A World To Believe In, and Can't Fight The Feeling...I'm very disappointed with this one, and I'm am not going to be consoled by the fact that EOM is a "better" choice than Alone.

The thing is that ''Alone'' could make a hit on AC radios without any huge promotion from sony. Taking Chances was a good 1st single choice but didnt get Sony's attention as much as it needed to become a hit.

 

Its either they put an another AC hit or they assume their choice of putting a top 40 radio hit.

If we want a HIT, then Alone should be out NOW! With a quick, but good music video - and then EOM after the holidays.

 

Most people wouldn't even remember Taking Chances on the radio...so it's like Alone would be the first anyway.

Looks like we get differnt opinions. Some loved EOM, some prefer aLone and some prefer the others. To me, I think whichever single is good. As long as I can see new video of Celine, that would be great.

What I find very amusing is that Sony wants to release this supposedly "cool, fresh" EOM as a single when Celine is all over the place talking about her desire to play Maria Callas, a singer even more "uncool" than Celine herself. LOL

 

If they really want to push this song then maybe, just maybe, they need to work on the teenage market. After all, younger people don't have those deep-seated, preconceived notions of Celine as people in their 20's or 30's do.

I think Eyes On Me could work, though. Does it represent the quality of the album? No it doesn't. However you have to consider that radios don't play demanding songs (the radios Celine is usally played). They play the easy fluff and Eyes On Me falls into that category, so in this regard it is a good choice.
