Celine_2533 Posted November 17, 2007 at 01:29 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 01:29 PM Oh! I love this song! Quote http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i78/title156/Sig2013.jpg
Macaronie Posted November 17, 2007 at 01:48 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 01:48 PM Well if they want a hit, they should release Alone right now! I am not a fan of this song, but as far as I can see on a lot of iTunes sites, the song is doing great, even better than Taking Chances! But does Sony want a hit for Dion? Noooooo. Quote
celinefan1985 Posted November 17, 2007 at 01:50 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 01:50 PM I can' t believe fans think this song is fresh and new. Shakira and Beyoncé have been doing this "style" for years now, and I must admit, with much better production. It might be new for Celine, but not for radio! The whole thing makes me want to vomit when you consider that this album is being marketed as a new direction. It's the same freakin' story all over again. She has been on a new direction since ANHC but the singles the choose to exploit do not represent Celine's evolution. They try to put out a first edgy single, and revert right back to safemode. And if you think Sony will put out more than three singles, I say look at their tack record as far a singles go... Again, an album choc full of of great songs and missed opportunites... I think I need to detach from all this and just enjoy the CD. One last word to the wise, the only way for Celine to ever be "popular" again would be to flush the whole team around her, but we know that will never happen. Oh well, hopefully i can get concert tickets today... Quote
chawatak Posted November 17, 2007 at 01:51 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 01:51 PM Good choice. At least it's catchy. Quote LISTEN TO NEW SONG"Flying On My Own" ON REPEAT!!!> https://vimeo.com/328324551
artistman2007 Posted November 17, 2007 at 01:52 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 01:52 PM great but i'm afraid of the video i hope she makes something new and cool and not just stand in one place with the same cloth Quote
Prince Whiskers Posted November 17, 2007 at 01:53 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 01:53 PM My main beef with EOM is that how is Celine going to present this song credibly without sexing things up to a certain extent? You can be sure that if Shakira or Beyonce had this song, she would back it up with a daring image play. I'm afraid this song won't thrive on Celine's dynamic vocals alone. And yes, it needs a remix bec. the album version is just a bit too heavy-handed to be enjoyed REPEATEDLY. It's a nice song, don't get me wrong, but for it to be a certifiable hit, it's something a casual fan would want to listen to obsessively bec. 2 or 3 listens just won't satisfy your hunger for it. I liked what I heard but I wasn't like, "I can listen to this song all day long." There's just too much going on with all the sharp instrumentation, the extensive background vocals, and Celine's sharp vocalizing. But maybe this is better than releasing Alone (the one I'm partial to) or AWTBLI if only for the fact that Celine is indeed now taking chances. Regardless of how this song does, at least Celine would be able to look back and not wonder how things would have been.I'm more sure than ever that the outcome of this song and album will dictate Celine's recording decisions in the not so distant future. MICHAELBACK Posted November 17, 2007 at 01:56 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 01:56 PM I hate to quash anyone's feelings here, but if you think that Celine will be appealing to the younger audience and begin to be played on radio etc, then think again. She just isn't cool enough - people wont admit to liking her music even if they do. Eyes on me is a very good song and I think can help push album sales higher, but I doubt it will push her into the mainstream. Quote
disadiva Posted November 17, 2007 at 02:00 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 02:00 PM ohhh I am not happy with that EOM are the next single okey it is diffirent from any other Celine song but it sounds to much shakira/Beyoncé the song itself is alright but i would rather pick Shadow Of Love or Fade away. Prince Whiskers Posted November 17, 2007 at 02:41 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 02:41 PM Let's not all forget that the recording industry is NO LONGER at Celine's feet. It's the other way around now. Nothing is a sure deal at this point. Not Alone, not EOM, not SOL, not FA which I really like. Like I said earlier, they need to send more than just one song to radio bec. that would provide some safety net. Celine is running out of time. She may yet prove to get away with the erroneous first single but at this point, there are no more room for mistakes. LuisMa Posted November 17, 2007 at 03:41 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 03:41 PM Bad choice for me as well. Hope it does great as it is our Celine, but it just doesn't work for me. But some of the posts here are absolutely right on the fact that this could penetrate the Top 40 Mainstream airwaves, as it is uptempo, but I'm not sure how well people will get that new Celine sound. PrincesseJen Posted November 17, 2007 at 03:48 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 03:48 PM I agree that this is a much better choice then Alone. http://www.smileysets.us/temp/PRINCESS/smile.gif Quote http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z30/Sarahj21230/Celine%20and%20Josh/pinkroseCeline-1.jpg
Alex_Incognito Posted November 17, 2007 at 04:24 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 04:24 PM I think this song is in a league different than Shakira or Beyonce (I cannot stand Beyonce's songs and I HATE that she gets the accent mark on her "e" and that Celine doesn't! ). This song has something that their songs don't. I think "Eyes" is a good single choice and I think that it should be remixed for a single (and they should make as many remixes as "Misled" had). At first I didn't think that "Alone" would make a good single, but now I think that it would be. It's an amazing track. Quote "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990

beelee Posted November 17, 2007 at 04:34 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 04:34 PM I think Celine will definitely get a #1 dance single out of this. Not sure about radio success though. Quote
morfino Posted November 17, 2007 at 04:36 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 04:36 PM SONY SONY SONY, Release FADE AWAY!!! FADE AWAY FADE AWAY FADE AWAY As second single!!! Quote You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep, cause finally reality is better than your dreams.
sge Posted November 17, 2007 at 04:38 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 04:38 PM EOM is kind of Samba dancing music. I hope the MV could be full of Latin fever~,and Celine could dance with sexy costume Quote http://nkbbs.org/upload/qmd/C/catbyreally.jpg
azlan Posted November 17, 2007 at 04:49 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 04:49 PM I hate Celine voice in this song.... Quote
CSCfan Posted November 17, 2007 at 04:52 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 04:52 PM Great choice.. Then release a ballad next for Spring ("I Got Nothin' Left") then a great uptempo song (SOL/FA) for summer! smw Posted November 17, 2007 at 04:55 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 04:55 PM A lot of my friends who've listened to EOM have said that "if this wasn't Celine, then it would be a huge hit". And that about sums it up. They think it's an amazing song, but the fact that it's Celine will keep people from investing in it. I'm kind of scared about the second single. I mean, Taking Chances really failed - sadly. I think it may be partly to the fact that people just didn't recognize her voice - she's so damn good that she can sound like anything! I honestly think EOM sounds more like Celine, and that's a good thing. But Alone is so popular on its own - that it probably would be a smarter second single..... Quote
Hilda Posted November 17, 2007 at 04:57 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 04:57 PM YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRILLIANT! An actual good choice for a single for once. haha or maybe they should re-release goodbyes the saddestword again as a double a-side!? HAHAHAHA. oh! and use the GORGEOUS cover that they used for it 1st time round hahahahahahhahahahahaa. christ those were the awful days. How did we all survive that as Celine fans? all we hear from the new album is TCH over and over again and ALONE she singing alone everywhere as like an album taster just like she did with 'at last' with a new day has come. artistman2007 Posted November 17, 2007 at 05:02 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 05:02 PM i think that its a whole year i mean she can release a lot of singles so it doesnt matter which one first Quote

nickah79 Posted November 17, 2007 at 05:18 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 05:18 PM I'm not so sure about this decision. EOM is the kind of song that demands a sexed-up music video and onstage performances. Does anyone really want Celine along this route? The "coolness" that works for others may not work for Celine, I'm afraid. Plus the song starts sounding overbearing after 2 minutes. JMO. I know what a lot of you are thinking but I'm leaning towards Alone bec. it's being well-received by reviewers and casual listeners. The atmosphere engages you at once and it has no uninteresting moments unlike the first single. Also, it won't alienate the typical Celine fan bec. it has a ballad hint to it. Anyway, all we can do right now is hope for the best. I agree. Alone would do well as a single. I think it will be her next single in the states. I believe that's why she's singing it on some of the shows ... to promote it. Quote
kdw123 Posted November 17, 2007 at 07:39 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 07:39 PM Fantastic! I think EOM will be a great single. It's very catcy and different for Celine. Plus it's a FUN song! Good Choice! I'm guessing it will be released right after Christmas??? Quote

Edwin Posted November 17, 2007 at 08:04 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 08:04 PM Yes to us fans it sounds fresh, but face it, the rest of the world will not find it fresh at all.Isn't that all that should matter? Who cares what non Celine Dion fans think? Personally I don't care which song is the next single, as long as its sung by you-know-who. Quote

Uhm, that's the entire point of a single. To attract/to promote the album to non-fans. Fans will buy it anyway, it's the general mass that needs to be persuaded.. Bambam Posted November 17, 2007 at 08:40 PM Posted November 17, 2007 at 08:40 PM Forget Alone. Chosing a cover for the first single was a big mistake enough. Don't repeat it. Each time I see an singer releasing a cover as the first single, the first thing that comes to mind is ohoh! they are in big trouble. Quote
