I love "The Way I Are" and I love the idea of Celine having radio hits again, but I am very glad she rejected it, if it is true that it was actually written for her.

 

Sorry, but the vocal on that song is thin, weak, and seriously processed. I have no desire to hear Celine like that. I want to hear Celine's voice in all its full, rich glory. I want to hear texture and emotion. If a song doesn't offer the chance for that, it's not a good song for Celine. I'm thankful for the integrity and good judgment that Celine and her team demonstrated in choosing the tracks for the album.

 

Each one is a better fit for her than "The Way I Are." Could you even imagine this?

Would anyone buy that? I wouldn't know whether to be amused or embarrassed.

 

If this is really the kind of material that Timbaland was offering to Celine, no wonder the collaboration didn't work out. They both would have to stretch themselves to find something that would have worked.

Who is 'Timbaland'?

Don't feel ashamed to ask, celine herself doesn't know who he is.

 

He's a black, fat, american, producer, known for his Hip Hop RnB stuff, who made the hits of 2007 (One Republic, Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake....).

His technique of adding the same beat and his huh huh to all the songs he produced is quite boring and annoying if you ask me.

 

 

Haham Timberland is an ammazing producer. He has produced songs which havent had his name plastered all over it, and they have been massive.

 

He has helped make hits for people such as Missy Elliott, Aaliyah, Björk, Brandy, Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Lil' Kim, Ludacris, 50 Cent, The Game, Nelly Furtado, Ginuwine, One Republic, Dima Bilan and The Pussycat Dolls.

If he had worked with Celine it most probably would have been a hit.... x

I can't see how any of these tracks would have fitted the feeling of Taking Chances. Although Apologise is a lovely song. These are a little too dirty RnB for Celine, I'm glad she didn't record them, it would just be strange. The artists that did record these songs have done them justice, and I don't entirely dislike them, but I don't think they would suit Celine.

 

I'm sure Timberland would be able to produce something great with Celine, but this kind of track would not be right. maybe if it had a political or global theme it would work. I have alwaus liked the thought of Celine doing something really RnB or really Dance, a dance anthem like "It's my turn" or something similar. She has the power in her vocals to do an amazing dance track. DJ's love powerful vocals to work around and clubbers would get a real rush from hearing a mix featuring one of the best voices on the planet!

As much as I respect Ehtu for writting nice posts, this list must be a joke.

 

For instance, the way I are french version was recorded in a hurry at the begining of Summer 2007 so the title could air more on the french radios (due to quota restrictions). The songs do not fit at all celine's repertoire and character.

Most of them are from shock value, an album recorded way before taking chances was planned.

This is a joke, a good one...but definitely not true.
