LVCeline Posted October 13, 2007 at 07:42 PM Posted October 13, 2007 at 07:42 PM I can't imagine singing a French song would be the best thing to do given the fact that it's Las Vegas, and the majority of the audience, if not like 98% don't speak French. I get the sentimental aspect, but logistically it just doesn't make sense. I can't think of a more fitting tribute than for half the audience to break out into Because You Loved Me and I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned! It would probably be a joke to break out in some cheesy karaoke rendition of Unison, which make pretty much no sense whatsoever. "For all those times you stood by me...For all the truth that you made me see...For all the joy you brought to my life...For all the wrong that you made right...For every dream you made come true...For all the love I found in you...I'll be forever thankful, baby...You're the one who held me up, never let me fall...You're the one who saw me through, through it all.. You were my strength when I was weakYou were my voice when I couldn't speakYou were my eyes when I couldn't seeYou saw the best there was in meLifted me up when I couldn't reachYou gave me faith cause you believedI'm everything I am because you loved me..." It has dual meaning. First of all it would make sense because Celine has often invited the audience to sing that song with her, and it's often at the end of her shows in the past. Second, it's sentimental if you read the lyrics. I mean Celine really has inspired a lot of us and like the lyrics say brought us up when we were down, given us strength during hard times, and brought joy to our lives. I know it sounds completely hokey, but it would make the most sense I think. It would be very emotional for her to hear her fans singing Because You Loved Me to her! Not to mention, even the non-diehard fans probably know the basic lyrics because it's one her most well known songs, so we might even have regular guests join in, heh. Quote

But yeah, that was my first choice. Quote All of the promises broken..And all of the songs left unsung...Seem so far away as I make my way back to you.You gave me faith and you gave me a world to believe in
Lawna Posted October 14, 2007 at 07:31 AM Posted October 14, 2007 at 07:31 AM I like the idea of combining Je ne vous oublie pas and TAST...don't know how to put them together, but I think it'd be great! pol Posted October 14, 2007 at 09:48 AM Posted October 14, 2007 at 09:48 AM (edited) It's a great idea!! I voted for "Let's talk about love", but I also think about "These are special times" Whatever you're gonna sing, it will be a great gift from the bottom of OUR hearts Please tell her, you're singing on behalf the fans from all over the world Are ypu gonna sing the song, just right after the show? You'll be standing in the audience? We've all had too much of Because You Loved Me, even Celine.... Or especially Celine, I should say, cause she has to sing it every night No this, nor MHWGO please Quote
Salla Posted October 14, 2007 at 11:50 AM Posted October 14, 2007 at 11:50 AM yeah, Because You Loved Me is definetly overused, but then again it would be fitting and it's easy to sing...and pretty much everyone would know the lyrics, so it would be amazing. hmm. it's a difficult decision. Quote
Elaine Posted October 21, 2007 at 01:19 PM Posted October 21, 2007 at 01:19 PM Well, lets rehearsal in Vegas. Yeah, we need to do that anyway, even with ONE song or ONE chorus. and if we have a medley, we're gonna need to rehearse for hours. hahaha. But we'll be in Vegas! We'll have time to rehearse! (Maybe not for hours but...) Well, a song medley would be nice and even I suggested to do one, but now that I'm thinking it over, I guess only one would be ok. What if she tries to join us? Then we would be caught by surprise and the second song would be totally spoiled! So maybe singing a bigger part of TAST would be perfect. OMG! I'm so anxious!! Tal Posted November 10, 2007 at 03:28 AM Posted November 10, 2007 at 03:28 AM I'm kind of behind on this whole thread so I'm not totally sure whats going on. But I would have suggested Taking Chances. I feel like that song would be an encouraging 'push' to the next phase of her career and showing her that her fans are embracing her new direction. I also think it doesn't matter what song will be chosen. If her fans sing to her in unison at her last show, she'll defintely be moved by it.
