I actually changed my mind Jane. I think would should sing a medley, not just Unison, and, of course, a medley implies singing more than one song, so I voted to sing chorus from different songs.

I vote for The Power Of The Dream

This song has many good words and beautiful melody.

(it can also refer to 5 years of show going through!!)

I have no chance to be in theater on 15Dec. :crybaby:

This is a tough choice, that's why I didn't vote yet! :shrug: I'm deciding between Let's Talk About Love, The Power of the Dream and Unison... I would, however, vote for one full song or a part of a song for it not to get too 'messy' with changing songs as we are such a huge crowd after all..

However, as I was reading through those lyrics, I also came across another option... These Are Special Times! I find the lyrics fitting perfectly to the occasion! And not only that, it is also a Christmas song, and the final show is right before Christmas. I think the lyrics of the whole song are very appropriate, and not only the chorus as opposed to many other songs (in my opinion). The chorus is the best part, though! Instead of "I" we would of course sing "we/us". Although I'm no singer myself(!), I think this would also be an easy song to sing. What do you think?

I love the idea of singing a song to her, BUT i don't really think any of the songs above or any other song of hers as is really fits. :hmm:

I think it would be awesome if we came up with lyrics ourselves. ^_^

okay, i take back saying that none of her songs fit the occasion. :giggle: TAST is definetly the best choice of all the songs that have been mentioned.

Really I dont know...I Will be there that night, so I would like to sing whatever we are going to be singing. Keep in mind there is a large group of us spread out over the front and rear orchestra section and the 1st and 2nd mez.

With that in mind, I'd hardly say that the majority of us are professional singers. If we sing a full song, #1 that'd take several minutes (I think keep it short and sweet for the most impact) and #2 the longer we sing, the more people are going to get off track and its just going to sound like a jumbled mess.

The medley would be cool, but we aren't going to have a long time to practice together. Can you imagine that big of a group that is all spread out trying to start and stop several different choruses for different songs? That could be another big mess.

I personally think we should stick to the chorus or a few lines from one particular song. I guess I am just trying to be realistic. I dont want her to be like "well, that was sweet of them, but they were all of track and it sounded bad." :mdr:

Out of the songs listed, I like You and I best, followed by the Power of the Dream. After reading the previous comments, I really like the idea of These Are Special Times...yeah it was on a Christmas album and really is about Christmas, but so what. Saturday the 15th will be a special time for sure! And well, its only 10 days away for those of us that celebrate Christmas.

Maybe we shouldn't 100% rule out a french song. If we decide on one early enough, we can all practice the correct pronunciation and such at home. I still like Je Ne Vous Oublie Pas. Imagine how she'd feel to hear the song that she sang for her fans being sang back to her to show her we love her just as much and she's been a part of our lives, too.

TAST isn't really that Christmassy. I know it's from a Christmas album, but it doesn't really mention Christmas or anything related to Christmas, so i think it would work. aaand yeah, Christmas isn't very far then either. haha.

I don't think songs like LCMM or Unison would work very well. They're uptempo and that would make it difficult for everyone to keep up with.

And I think Jane mentioned getting the band in on it and giving everyone lyrics(or maybe i dreamt it? lol)? that would make it easier for us to start and finish at the same time and get every single person in the Colosseum to sing even if they don't know the lyrics by heart. :yes:

Since the day Je Ne Vous Oublie Pas was released I imagined it being sang at the last show (whether by fans or by Celine herself). I think it is absolutely perfect. I know many don't speak French (including myself) but I'm sure there are more than enough french speaking fans here who are willing to help with pronunciation.

Next choices would definitely be:

These Are Special Times - easy to sing and the words apply

Lets Talk About Love - easy for a large group to sing in unison

Ce n'etait q'un rêve - because of the songs sentimental reasons to Celine

I agree with you! je ne vous oublie pas is one of the songs that I always imagine people singing to Céline.

I also think that if we sing a French song, we'd be somehow closer to Céline, cause she'll see we're really fans... But then there's this issue of not many fans speaking French. It's not exactly easy to memorize the songs... At least in my case it takes me a little time to do so, and I'm lucky that my language has the same roots as Céline's... For a person who speaks English or other languages which are not from a latin basis I guess it's a little more complicated...

That's why I suggested If that's what it takes or other song in English...

I am telling you if we sang this to her, we all would be crying. This would be the ultimate song to sing to Celine this final night.

If we decide soon, we have 2 months to practice it on our own. The melody is easy to sing together and I know she would be touched

I would like to think that the song is a sort of a thank you for the whole cast of A New Day... and not just Céline, so i think it would be nicer to have an English language song, so that everyone will understand the lyrics. :flowers:

Oh and also, we don't wanna make it sad(der than it already is. lol). I know Céline is gonna cry and we're all gonna cry, but we're not mourning, we're celebrating an amazing show! :wub:

I vote for These Are Special Times. I was unable to cast my vote, though. It says I have already voted, which I haven't... I just viewed the votes last night.

Anyway, when I went to bed last night I listened to TAST a few times, and I really loved it. Not only do I like the lyrics, but I also think the melody is so nice for the final night. I was imagining us singing the song with the glow sticks! :in_love: The song is slow enough for a large, scattered group to sing. As Salla already mentioned, even though this is on a xmas album, it's not really that christmassy as it doesn't even mention Christmas. It is a lovely song to listen to over the holidays, but I think it fits in many other occasions as well. And even if it is a xmas song, we are in the middle of December anyway.

I voted for TAST as well. I think it fits all the requirements. LOL And I voted for singing the whole song. It takes a couple of minutes, but i doubt anyone is in a hurry that night. :wink:

I don't think a medley really fits well with this and esp. if we don't have the band with us it might end up all messy and weird, cause we don't really have time to practice together.
