LuisMa Posted March 13, 2008 at 02:39 AM Posted March 13, 2008 at 02:39 AM I was shocked David Hernández was given the boot tonight. He was pretty bad last night, but not as bad as Kirstie, but I like her a little. I like David Archuleta, Jason Castro and Amanda Overmyer. Brooke is really talented as well and I hope she goes far in the competition. Quote
Black Kitten Posted March 13, 2008 at 02:53 AM Posted March 13, 2008 at 02:53 AM Brooke really reminds me of Carole King. david archuleta never failed to amaze me, he's such a gifted young man. amanda's style is good, but im getting used to it. Mr. Cook is great, but what's going on with him? he's forgetable. these 2 cooks (with cristy) are very forgetable. Quote
dj4celine Posted March 13, 2008 at 09:44 PM Posted March 13, 2008 at 09:44 PM Talent wise: Defo one of the BEST seasons!! back to Top12: David Cook, Brooke, Chikezie, Amanda, Michael, Jason Castro and carly were the best IMO Although I felt bad about David H., I wouldn't miss him much cos seriously that guy's got bad attitude but as per the performance, Kristy should have gone David A. forgot his lyrics and it was soo cute Quote
Jeffieboi Posted March 15, 2008 at 04:54 AM Posted March 15, 2008 at 04:54 AM I decided not to start watching until the top 12 this season, and the top 12 performed 3 days ago, so of course I watched it. I like Carly Smithson. Even though her higher notes are kinda scratchy...her voice in general is beautiful, and Celine is listed as one of her idols, lol. Plus she's from Ireland, and us Americans lurve accents, lol. Quote
Nmj Posted March 15, 2008 at 02:44 PM Posted March 15, 2008 at 02:44 PM Brooke White For Sure.. her voice is amazing...She it just so PURE and Nice ... Not her voice, but her personality and trueness reminds me of a singer named CELINE Im I Drunk? Tell My I'm Right-Nmj Quote
LuisMa Posted March 15, 2008 at 04:12 PM Posted March 15, 2008 at 04:12 PM This is my ranking of the Top 12 this week: 1. Brooke White - she's just amazing, and she reminds me of Carly Simon and Jewel. 2. Amanda Overmyer - it's true that she slurred some of the words, but her stage presence was awesome, and she was having a blast and let her emotions show more this week.3. David Cook - Wow, this guy can sing! Not as good as "Hello", but still an awesome performance.4. Carly Smithson - There's something about her that has not clicked with me yet, but she did a pretty good job.5. Chikezie - He reminds me of the late Gerald Levert. 6. Jason Castro - Pretty good as well.7. Ramielle - She has a very beautiful voice, but looked a little nervous.8. Syesha Mercado - Very pretty and talented, but so far has not delivered a song that has made me go wow!9. David Hernández - Very cheesy rendition of that song. Maybe I'm a little biased here because I have never liked the song. I'm not sure if he deserved to go, but I agree with Dhruv that he had a major attitude.10. Michael Johns - I still don't like him very much. Maybe it's his choice of songs. 11. David Archuleta - I am so sad to rank him 11, because he's definitely one of my favorites. But his performance was really bad, but I know he will rebound next week.12. Kristy Lee Cook - As big as a fan I am of country music, I was waiting for this one to stop. She's very pretty and seems to be a nice girl, but the song had a terrible arrangement. How do you guys rank your Top 12? Quote
MusicRulezz34 Posted March 19, 2008 at 04:24 PM Posted March 19, 2008 at 04:24 PM I like David Archuleta I hope he wins. Quote
LuisMa Posted March 19, 2008 at 04:31 PM Posted March 19, 2008 at 04:31 PM David Archuleta was definitely awesome last night. It was an odd evening IMO, but Carly and David Cook were standouts as well. I totally hated Brooke's attitude of rambling throughout the jusges' comments. I do like Amanda Overmyer, but her performance was basically the same as last week's. The worst performance, again was by Kristy Lee. I have not been a fan of hers, but I gotta say Syesha's song was great. Quote
dj4celine Posted March 19, 2008 at 07:43 PM Posted March 19, 2008 at 07:43 PM Totally agree with Luis. I think its bye-bye Kristy Quote
Jeffieboi Posted March 19, 2008 at 07:53 PM Posted March 19, 2008 at 07:53 PM I like David Archuleta I hope he wins. I can't stand him. I mean, he's a very good singer, but he's a loser. Like...he's not cool at all. I could never chill with him. I don't think he's ever lived a day in his life. Quote
LuisMa Posted March 19, 2008 at 07:57 PM Posted March 19, 2008 at 07:57 PM This is my ranking of this week's Top 11: 1. Syesha Mercado - I am not a fan of the song "Yesterday" but wow, she totally impressed me, and she looked absolutely stunning.2. David Archuleta - Totally rebounded from last week. I really like him and hope he gets a record deal even if he doesn't win. His outfit was awful, though. 3. Chikezie - I totally did not expect him to give that song the country turn, but I enjoyed it a lot.4. David Cook - I'm wondering whether he'll suffer a shocking elimination like Daughtry's a few years ago. He'll go far, but I'm not sure as to whether he can win this or not.5. Amanda Overmyer - Even though I really really like her, her performance was just a carbon copy of what she did last week. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm fearing she'll be in the bottom three tonight.6. Jason Castro - He was totally awkward last night. He needs to spice things up a little. He's talented, but has minimal stage presence.7. Carly Smithson - I still don't see her as a big star. She has a pretty voice, but I'm still missing something from her. HUGE GAP 8. Michael Johns - He's pretty meh to me. He seems like a nice guy, but his choice of songs have not done it for me yet. 9. Ramele Malubay - Didn't like her this week.10. Kirsty Lee Cook - I totally agree with Simon that she's forgettable. Bored me to death last night. 11. Brooke White - Man! I ranked her 1 last week and last this week. Horrendous job with that song and, to cap it off, her attitude!! Maybe she was just too nervous, but she did not shut up during the judges comments. I think that has diminished her potential to go far in the competition. That's sad. Quote
LuisMa Posted March 20, 2008 at 02:21 AM Posted March 20, 2008 at 02:21 AM I can't believe they gave the boot to Amanda Overmyer and Kristy Lee is staying one more week!!!! Quote
Jeffieboi Posted March 26, 2008 at 12:37 AM Posted March 26, 2008 at 12:37 AM (edited) If anyone cares, the Asian chick sang "Alone" tonight on American Idol. I forgot her name, Ramielle or something. Anyway, she did TERRIBLE! OMG I couldn't believe it, especially when you compare it to Carrie Underwood's performance from season 4. They said Ramielle or whatever was sick, but I think it's more than that. It was just a God awful performance. Edited March 26, 2008 at 12:38 AM by Jeffieboi Quote

Jeffieboi Posted March 26, 2008 at 02:00 AM Posted March 26, 2008 at 02:00 AM Oh well of course Celine's version is numéro uno en mi libro, but I was comparing it to Carrie Underwood's version because Carrie sang it on the show as an actual contestant, and I was just comparing the two contestants performances. Quote
Black Kitten Posted March 26, 2008 at 02:17 AM Posted March 26, 2008 at 02:17 AM oh no jeffiboi... ramiele is a filipino so we filipino are rooting for her, though obviously she's one of the weakest finalists... Quote
LuisMa Posted March 26, 2008 at 02:25 AM Posted March 26, 2008 at 02:25 AM I don't dislike Ramielle, but she's not one of my favorites. She has a beautiful voice, but yeah, I agree with Dhena that she's one of the weakest. But I don't think she was the worst tonight. I feel it's Kirsty Lee's time to say good-bye. Quote
karatedude317 Posted March 26, 2008 at 02:36 AM Posted March 26, 2008 at 02:36 AM I"ve been hooked on AI this season and it's the first time in a few years. My favorite is Archuleta because he has a great voice and doesn't carry himself with an ego or an attitude. David Cook is great also. As for the girls, Carly is probably the best IMO. I liked the girl that was voted off last week too. O I saw Alone from Ramielle, it wasn't bad at all! The last note she hit was pretty much on, but nobody can compare to the previous versions. If you look on Youtube, Carly actually sang it for an audtion and she sang it AWESOME, hate to say it, but she kinda gave Celine a run for her money. PLEASE DON'T KILL ME you know how much of a fan of Celine I am, and I like her version a lot, but Carly seemed to have a bit more feeling in it. Let's see who's gonna go tomorrow. Who do you think? I think the girl that sang the Police is probably going to go, although I really do like her. Quote
ThisTime Posted March 26, 2008 at 02:45 AM Posted March 26, 2008 at 02:45 AM I REALLY doubt brooke will go. She's been pretty good every week & has a lot of fans.I think it will be Chikezie or Ramiele to go. Quote http://i.imgur.com/MfrTohK.gifMy Twitter || My Tumblr
Black Kitten Posted March 26, 2008 at 03:00 AM Posted March 26, 2008 at 03:00 AM cristy is lucky enough to be on the top 12. she's beautiful, but her voice is so weak for me. cristy and ramiele are the weakest among the ladies (but ramiele is a filipino so, i would still love to see more from her). for the guys, i really love david archuleta, jason castro and david cook. they're all versatile vocalists and not to mention, they got the looks! i adore chikezie, but his style is getting a little boring now. LuisMa Posted March 26, 2008 at 03:36 AM Posted March 26, 2008 at 03:36 AM This is my ranking of this week's Top 10: 1. David Cook "Billie Jean": O M G. His performance was amazing. It gave me chills. I have never been a fan of the song, but he made me enjoy that tonight. 2. Chikezie "If Only For One Night": Wow. He reminds me of a young Keith Sweat. I loooove his voice and this week he was AMAZING. 3. Michael John "Queen Medley": Now this has been my favorite performance from him in the entire competition. He seemed very comfortable on stage, and sang his heart out. Excellent. 4. Brooke White "Every Breath You Take": When she started and messed up a little I was worried but she pulled it off great. I really liked it a lot, and again, I'm not a huge fan of the original. 5. Carly Smithson "Total Eclipse Of The Heart": this song might have been sung by millions of people, but she did a very good rendition. It was the very last note which I did not like. It was a little sharp. 6. David Archuleta "You're The Voice": he was just OK for me this week. 7. Kirsty Lee Cook "God Bless The U.S.A." Now I love this song by Lee Greenwood. This has been her best performance so far, but stlll she has zero stage presence. I think her days are counted in the competition. 8. Ramiele Malubay "Alone": I don't wanna be biased and compare it to Celine's or Carrie's rendition, but it is a little inevitable . The backing vocalists IMO oversung her. It was not a stellar performance for me. 9. Syesha Mercado: "If I Were Your Woman": The judges praised her. I loved last week's performance much better. I like her, but the song was a bit boring for me. 10. Jason Castro: :( I am a fan of Jason's, but I didn't enjoy the performance tonight. He's just like Amanda last week. He doesn't bring anything new and the performances are like a carbon copy from the previous week. What do you guys think? Quote
Jeffieboi Posted March 26, 2008 at 01:42 PM Posted March 26, 2008 at 01:42 PM Just an update, according to dialidol...only the two Davids and Carly Smithson are guarenteed to be safe this week...which I hope is true because Carly Smithson is my favorite this season, but after last night I'm starting to like Kristy Lee Cook. I always get a little teary eyed whenever I hear "God Bless The U.S.A." Quote
JessCC Posted March 26, 2008 at 05:15 PM Posted March 26, 2008 at 05:15 PM Move over, David Archuleta... David Cook has arrived. Now, now... I like David A. He's got a nice, pure (a bit breathy) voice but David Cook is DA MAN tonight with his original version of "Billie Jean". That song has never sounded so good before until now. I couldn't even believe it was a Michael Jackson song, if you asked me. haha.... I like this season's singers so far. A bit more rock-ish this season, which is fine with me. I'm guessing, a few people like Kristy, Jason and Chikezie should go off first before the competition heats up. But then again, America doesn't always get it right. (Cue Season 2 footage when the velvet teddy bear won over the geek) Quote
dj4celine Posted March 26, 2008 at 07:42 PM Posted March 26, 2008 at 07:42 PM My Top 3 this week: 1. David Cook - What an amazing performance!!2. Michael John - he sure brought the house down with the Queen Medley. But I don't agree with Luis on one thing... I think his best IMO is still "Bohemian Rhapsody"...he sounded flawless in that. 3. Carly Smithson - I think I am a little biased towards this girl - first, cos she's a Celine fan... second, she sang one of my fav. songs (the last time I heard a wonderful performance of this Bonnie tyler classic was when Jessica Sierra sang it) My Bottom 3 this week: 1. Ramielle Malubay - I really like this girl but her rendition of 'Alone' was for me. The best performance of this Heart classic I've heard from anyone is Carrie's rendition. I'm not even a big fan of Celine's version (yeah.. Davey, kill me ). The original is still my fav 2. Jason Castro - He was one of my fav. contestants this season. But what is he doing?? 3. Chik..WHAT!! - I can't stand this guy and his song this week was just plain boring for me. For some reason he reminds me of Ruben Studdard. Maybe its the grudge I have against him, that I don't like Chi..WHAT!! Special mention: 1. Kristy Lee Cook - This girl surprised me with a nice song choice. I'm sure a lot of patriotic AI fans are gonna vote for her after the performance 2. Brooke White - This girl's got great potential. And I agreed with Simon's comments when he said that she shouldn't have included the band. her piano-solo was beautiful. 3. David. A. - I love this guy very much however he did a lacklustre performance this week. He should do a great vocals next or else ...well, he'll never be in the Bottom 3 cos he's got millions of fans to save him :mdr: I really wanna hear a peformance like "Proud Mary" that he did for the 1st Season AI contestants or "I Surrender"...great vocals and very well emoted. Quote
LuisMa Posted March 27, 2008 at 02:06 AM Posted March 27, 2008 at 02:06 AM Dhruvie, we both got two of the bottom three right this week. But you won! The boot was given to Chikezie. Quote
karatedude317 Posted March 27, 2008 at 02:18 AM Posted March 27, 2008 at 02:18 AM (edited) I didn't think Castro should have been safe, nothing really that great about him at all. Chikeze was great and had more talent than Castro, he should have been safe, and I'm glad Sayesha was safe. O and that question segment is a waste of time and makes this country look really stupid and superficial, i can't believe they allow some of these RIDICULOUS questions to waste air time on television. It was a good concept, but the questions they allow in really make me scratch my head. David Cook's performance last night is stirring up controversy! I"ll let you know what it's about as soon as I find out..... Edited March 27, 2008 at 02:25 AM by karatedude317 Quote
A New Day Has Come Posted March 27, 2008 at 02:41 AM Posted March 27, 2008 at 02:41 AM (edited) David A, Carly Smithson and Micheal Johns. Edited March 27, 2008 at 02:42 AM by A New Day Has Come Quote

karatedude317 Posted March 27, 2008 at 02:46 AM Posted March 27, 2008 at 02:46 AM OK controversy is that his version that people thought HE made up he actually took from someone else and it's VERY similar. Someone accused him of swiping another song that he did a different version of. He got kudos from the judges for being "original" however the versions he sang were not original at all. So that's the "controversy". Quote
LuisMa Posted March 27, 2008 at 02:54 AM Posted March 27, 2008 at 02:54 AM Thanks! That's weird. I had never listened to another version of the song. Hmmmmm Quote
