Anywaaaaaaaay...back to the "Taking Chances" single ( )... I'm glad I got the Japanese version so quick. My only gripe with it is that it didn't include enough on it. I would have liked to have had at least one more track or had it be enhanced. But, overall I'm pleased with it.

According to the wholesalers who I ordered my single from (they supply HMV among others), the single was cancelled. I've had to get it from iTunes - which I not happy about as I get map to my heart with the iTunes pre-order of the album.

Its completely NUTS. She isn't even on their website. I have no idea why. If Celine wasn't here they would do nothing at all. The TV promo will be great for the album hopefully the airplay will pick up after that.

 

I think we should start a huge campaign to tell Sony Music in the UK to release the single.

 

They wont now. cos the album is due and they probably want to maximise sales of that. A hit single is necessary to keep the airplay up and keep the album sales going else it will just fall back down the charts really quickly.

I preordered it from amazon and got an email saying the shipping date had been pushed back a month, but not that it had been cancelled. I cancelled the order anyway since itunes is offering Map to My heart with the album.

I've checked my order on HMV and under "Product Details/Item Status" it says the following:-

 

Celine Dion - Taking Chances / Item deleted - we are trying to obtain this item from alternate sources

The physical Taking Chances single is cancelled/postponed by SonyBMG itself !

On a German Céline forum there is a rumour that something went wrong with the production (a video supposed to be on the single didn't reach NY, is it possible that the single's mastertape was stolen?), first they changed the Maxi single into a common single (and they postponed it a week), and now they cancel the whole thing!

 

I think they will release Alone as the first single instead of Taking Chances, there is another topic on this forum about they already have shot a videoclip for it!

 

And the only reason for shooting this Alone-videoclip is that Alone will be released soon and Taking Chances will be the 2nd single when all the production troubles are over, maybe they will release it at the end of November or the beginning of december....

y, y,y do sony keep doing this to celine and her fans? all we ask for is some respect instead all we get is constant promises then again let downs... like the tour itinery it still hasnt been announced officially as a whole item... sony made press statement annoucning it wld be released oct 15th.... never happend.... celines new single promoted by celine herself flying all over the world for the album and single and what do they do?? cancel it. its a joke they treat celine and her fans as a joke because they would rather promote a one hit wonder that cant sing.. grrrrrrrr it annoys me so much lol!!

Sony do not respect Celine. She is their biggest artist but they are more interested in new artists who are "cool"

 

I think they do spend the big money on advertising campaigns but to not release the single shows that they think it will flop they should have the confidence to release it and understand the type of fans Celine has. They do buy physical singles

because you can still download it so the release date must still be the same,, they just havent released the CD format

which sometimes happens in the Uk They release it for Download First then put it on CD
