What's this I hear about over the top and all these different (but oh so interesting) interpretions about what symbolises what?

 

I really don't think it's to be taken that serious. Céline is in control: she got Dave into the video, she's got a story line, she's acting, she looks hot - she did everything we wished for. And she's doing it quite easily, enjoying the ride just as if saying: "hey look what I can do, but I don't do it to proove myself". She's having fun, and one can tell. It's a fun video. An easy one. And it walks hand in hand with the song even though it doesn't litteraly show exactly what the lyrics say.

 

It shouldn't be taken too serious, nor to lightly. It's fun. Enjoy.

We never said we disliked the video... at least I never did, I happen to just LOOOOOVE it (I think is her best so far..)... we just wanted to let out our interpretations of it, since there were some people who had trouble understanding the story-line, is it too bad to try and understand something? we never said that we wanted the video to literaly fit the lyrics, we just wanted to know what the connection was....

I am able to read! Something you should work on aswell...

I agree with you, Fred. It's a fun video and it's something we can and should enjoy in stead of analyse all the time! Its so much better than what she did the last few years... For instance A new day has come, One heart, I drove all night... Nice songs but the videoclips were so dull, you could tell they did not spend much time on it. And it had no story what so ever. At least this is a fun video and I guess there is no hidden message or anything, we should not take it too serious. We should just enjoy it!

I just thought of a new possible plot : Celine is stuck in the Caesars Palace chamber and the new biker Celine comes to rescue her (and taking her identity along)! She escapes from Caesars Palace and the security staff runs after her but there is no stopping her!! Celine is going out of there fast and wants to know WHAT'S NEXT!!!! Possible?

Celine was in a Mercedes and the rest of her fleet consisted of 4 black Chevy Suburbans and a Cadillac Escalade and Suburban at the end.

when i was in vegas last i was told that celine didn't own any chryslers anymore and the van she now travels to the show in is a huge tricked out mercedes, so its not strange that there arent any chryslers.....thank god though i couldnt stand another OH product placement thing

 

Its a Maybach 62, Mercedes-Benz brought the brand back to the market a few years a go, Maybach used to build vehicles for Royalty and head of states, the vehicle is special order hand made to the clients needs,millions of choices,yeah millions, i've seen her car and yeah it is very nice. I'm not sure about the director. I'm sure they had a good story line, I just think they edited it wrong. But who cares? She looks amazing, it's so much fun to watch. And we do get a little bit of the story, everyone can just make up their own idea about what it means.

Believe me: the director is 100% responsible for putting his work out there. He supervises everything from the storyline to the editing to the camera angle...

 

Yeah, it was a nice idea to create some spy story but it was just too much to handle for someone who doesn't have any idea how to tell a story on film. It wasn't awful but it could've been a whole lot better IMO... a whole lot!

I was wrong. I thought it would grow on me since yesterday, but it's actually grown 'off' of me. When I watch the video without sound, I love it. When I listen to the song, I love it. When I put both together, it doesn't work for me. I can't help but think that this fabulous concept would have worked better on a more up-tempo and edgy song, like "Eyes On Me" with her in the control room spying on the man she wants going through the Casino downstairs, flirting with other women and she confronts him at the end, being as sexy as can be, or even "Surprise, Surprise".

 

I love the concept. I love Celine in the video. I love the dark scenes and mystery (as goofy as the editing turned out to be), but I think it would be better for another song.

 

So, yes I like the video, but not with this song, if that makes any sense. LOL

i gree that it's somthing make u fed up and give up at the end bec u know by now that celine will never understand what we want her to look like ,i mean for the video please after all these years and we are waiting for somthing diff and new and at the end she still in a room acting totaly unormal and doing strange things ind please don't say beautiful the cloth are ok but her face why she do this weird reactions i dont know and will never kno not beautiful or hot she's horrible for god sake the only good looking face for her in the video weas in the beggining and the diidn't show it to musch but they insted put her as always in a room and tell her to do suff that doesn't matsh the song and make her scary ,and olso please guys w know that she was not the one doing all that biker stuff so at the end it was acters as always and she is not doing any thing new so u know what i am really fed up and let her do what she wants ,but i'm just wondering how all these people around her are happy with that and after the finishing they will clap for her and say yeah celine it's your comeback and you are doing nothing new and looking realy not beautiu,i love you celine but u realy make me tired and i mean it

Do you think film critics could do a filmmaker's job? No! Do you think a music critic can sing better than Celine or anybody they're reviewing? No! Well we do the same here. We say positive and negative things and at the end of the day it's just a way to express one's feeling about a specific subject. Sure there are people who will constantly be negative about everything and anything. That's not what I'm talking about.

 

Just look at the poll and you'll see that the majority of the members love the video. Not everyone can love it and those who don't have the right to say they don't, just like you do have the right to say you do.

I have to tell you guys a FUNNY story!!

 

Yesterday, when my daughter (17) got home from school... I showed her the video. Her comments... "It's OK" with that annoyed "WHATEVER" look on her face.

 

Anyway... last night... around midnight... I heard a noise coming from the living room. I got up out of bed, sneaked into the room and CAUGHT HER! She was watching and listening to the Taking Chances video over and over again... SINGING ALONG!!

 

I couldn't believe my eyes and ears!! THIS --- coming from a HARD ROCK junkie (Seether, August Burns Red, System of a Down, Element Eighty)!! I think she is more like her Mom than she is willing to admit!
