"Taking Chances" To Be Featured on CBS TV Series Promo for "Moonlight"

Weird doesn't mean uncommon. It means it's odd, strange. ...Celine's song, isn't known to the general public. In the past, television networks used well-known songs to promote a TV show/series or a line up or the beginning or ending of a season. People would identify with the song immediately because it had been heard before. Since American Idol (the show made "Home" and "Bad Day" major hits), I guess the networks are now copying their tactics and are trying to use unknown songs to promote both, the TV show and the song. I guess it's a win win situation. But it still odd :lol:

 

Does anybody remember a little show called "Friends"? :whistling: This theme song, "I'll Be There For You", wasn't well known until after it was heard on TV. It became a great hit (at least in the US). Maybe the show "Moonlight" will help to do the same with "Taking Chances". I'm sure that is what Rene was thinking in using this promotional technique. He obviously knows what he's doing :yes: , Celine didn't get where she is all on her own. :P

Supposed to have another Taking Chances Promo at the end of the show.

No worries about anyone knowing about it being Celines song. It said Taking Chances by Celine Dion at the beginning (like MTV)

Okay.. Heres what I recall...

 

It starts with the beginning of the song with the chorus picking up with the action on screen (the vamp leaps when she refers to jumping "off the edge"). It continues through her high notes and concludes with the end of the song (last words repeated twice)

They did another one!!! This one was at the end of Moonlight as a preview of the season. It was much shorter but was AWESOME!! Hopefully someone can encode it!!

 

 

BTW I really liked the show too !!

I just finished watching it! I had recorded it while I watched my Astros lose to the Braves :cry1: ... but moving on...

I REALLY liked the show!! Everyone had said it would be a "Buffy" rip-off. I never watched Buffy, but this show actually did some great work of setting up the show and character development. I'm definitely going to be watching this again next week!!

In series-premiere news, CBS drama Moonlight opened with 8.62 million viewers (#2 behind NBC’s Las Vegas) and a first-place 2.5/ 8 among adults 18-49 at 9 p.m

 

not a groundbreaking no. of viewers but that's to be expected from friday night shows. That's a good exposure still.

i didnt like what they did to the song in the 1 min promotion video. but at least, theres more promotion for the single so its ok
