The worst sentence I heard from my best friend tonight was, "I don't think Celine is going to make it on the radio." UGH!! That's so frustrating to hear. We have to work together to get her playing on the pop stations and get her on the pop charts. We must have the attitude that we will not take 'no' for an answer. If it's Z100 we need to get her on, let's get her on it! I think if I see "Big Girls Don't Cry" on any other chart I'm going to puke (granted, it's not a bad song, but it's not Celine!). :sick: If I have to see "The Way I Are" topping the charts one more time.... The improper English kills me. :confused: "Taking Chances" is a great song and there's no reason why it shouldn't get played.

 

What do we need to do? :hmm: :evil: :ermm:

 

What we need to do is recruit a CelineTeam here (nevermind TeamCeline) :laugh: and get cracking on the non-stop requests that we can continue to make over and over again. It's important she gets on the U.S. charts and the Billboard 100. That'll happen by lots of airplay on the pop stations that comprise the Billboard 100.

 

We know she needs play on Z100. How about the Boston radio stations? Those are posted in the pinned topic. The L.A. stations ... where I'm from ... Kiisfm.com and Star987.com. I JUST CALLED Star987.com and requested "Taking Chances" and do you know what she said to me? "All right, I'm going to be honest with you." and I said what? and she said "There's a good chance I don't have it in here." AND THAT'S B.S. FOLKS. PLEASE. Their request line is 1-800-STAR-987 - flood them with requests, folks. Because they are full of it.

 

Let's do this and get her on the radio and on the charts. Please respond to this post with more ideas, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, etc. :)

 

Please...if you're reading this...give a station a call and request Celine ... and let us know you've done so. Thank you.

Nick...ahhhhhhhhhh... :laugh: : The administrators are not going to delete this thread, but they are going to join it with another thread similar to this one. There have been at least half a dozen different threads made about this, from Z100 threads to street team threads, etc. Sadly, it is solely and truly up to these radio stations' hosts. Pleading endlessly can only so much.

 

There needs to be multimedia enthusiasm with Celine before she can truly impact pop radio stations, again: She needs to impact POP CULTURE. She may need to appear on mainstream TV more often, on magazine covers, on famous blogs, on people's minds - all at the same time.

God this is why i never listen to radio stations...this one has such boring tracks like Non siamo soli (by Eros and Ricky) and Glorious (by Imbruglia) higher than Taking Chances. and Non siamo soli is a new entry too (though Taking Chances was supposed to reach radios earlier), that song sucks...actually the only songs i like in the whole top 50 is Dark road (Lennox) luckily in #7 and Stronger (Kanye West)

Radio in the US is a tough thing these days, even popular artists sometimes have a hard time getting airplay. I think a lot of it comes from the record labels but listener requests can also make an impact. There has to be

a lot of them though and every day to get the song on regular roation. The so called "hot" or "current" artists are gonna automatically get airplay no matter what. Some of the AC stations will play Celine because she's very popular in that format - like the station here in NYC WLTW Lite FM. They always play new Celine songs but that's mainly because the program director is friendly with Celine. So all in all, it's up to the program director and not so much the djs.

 

I think we should keep hitting the radio stations with requests, it can't hurt. :kicking:

Im here in Boston, Ma and the single has yet to take off... Ive called all the major Radio Stations that could potentially play it and they've said that their producers probably wont go for it... UGGGH Im so dissappointed...

 

Boston has always been quite a good market for Celine and I remember "ANDHC" doing well.

I keep emailing stations and especially Z100 in NYC but I really doubt they are gonna play it unless it makes

the Billboard Top 20. I keep putting it in for the Top 9 at 9. WLTW Lite FM in NY keeps playing the song, so that's good as they have a big audience. She needs a music video NOW!

Local radio stations in Italy are starting playing "Taking Chances" today, national radio stations will follow on Monday.

 

You can start requesting the song on http://www.birikina.it/ on the left form.

"Richiedi la tua canzone" = "Request your song".

"Inserisci Titolo" = "Taking Chances".

"Inserisci Autore" = "Celine Dion".

"Tua Email" = "Your Email Address".

Then press "Invia".

I've contacted all the DJs at KISS108. One replied saying she didn't have it in the studio. Yet it was on Billy Costa's morning show played as an extra. I don't get it.
