Celine Helps American Idol Win First Emmy!

Celine's simulated duet with Elvis on the "Idol Gives Back" television special has not only helped raise millions of dollars for charity, it has also helped American Idol secure its first ever Emmy at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony held earlier this month. The American Idol special charity episode "Idol Gives Back" was honoured with the prestigious "Govenor's Award" as well as the award for "Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video For A Miniseries, Movie, Or A Special." The special episode also received a nomination in the"Oustanding Multi-camera Picture Editing For A Series" category. Congratulations!

after watching the HQ video it's even more obvious...maybe i'm the only one who doesnt like this performance but i truely think she sounds tired and her voice is very weak here . she also killed that last note...

she needs to rest her voice for atleast few weeks - no recordings , no shows , no interviews

 

I do agree that she had to struggle a little bit at the end, but she still sounded awesome!!!! She knew just when to pull back a little before cracking. Remember, she had just performed her show for 1 1/2 hrs right before she sang this. I don't think she needs to rest her voice for weeks to sing it, just sing it first .

 

Celine sang beautifully and looking gorgeous!!!

Why you don't give Celine, Celine fans and yourself a break. We all know you won't like her performances, new songs anyway. I wonder if I should help you get a break by suspending your account for maybe 1 year.

What!!!??? I would love to hear Celine sing this song again and again! It gives me the chills, no matter if it's the TCOML version or Divas version (and now the latest version). She's awesome!! I would love to hear and watch (I love her facial expressions) her sing it the next time I am able to see Celine live!!

 

I would also like to respond to those who keep saying that "Celine is back". Where did she go? She has never left. Even when she took her 2 year break (to finally become a mom) there was still some new things to hear and see. Celine has been "here" since the '80's and in the U.S. since the '90's. She has never gone away and never will!!! ) WOOHOOOOO!!!! GO CELINE!!!!!!!!

Forgive me for replying to this Topic so late but I have just trawled the discussion and found the link to Celine's performance via YouTube and had to make my comment.

 

WOW ! ........ to have been in the audience and see Celine perform "Can't Help Falling In Love" must have been amazing.....I play that song over and over on the Colour of My Love DVD and get chills every time ....... and Celine ...... you still nail it perfectly Girlriend ....... Reading through this thread I have read one or two comments about a decrease in the quality over the years....All I can say is Never, Never, Never .....she continues to hit every note and still send chills down my spine ..... she set herself a standard all those years ago when she sang her version and lives up to it 100% over ten years later Yes we are on the edge of our seats when she sings this just like we are with All By Myself because we know what she has to put into it to deliver ..... but boy does she deliver and more.
