i think this will put celine back into the mainstream...look at nelly furtado just another artist..and timbaland worked with her and put her at #1...so this will most likely bring Celine back to number one!

And thats what i want and what she need if she want to give concerts outside france!

If the first single will be trashy and not that quality we usally know.... It dosnt matter because the Album will be great!

Now I feel very relieved. I didn't know timbaland did the production of Sexy Back and What Goes Around Comes Around, thought it was Justin Timberlake himself who was the producer there. When I first hear those tracks I was shocked at that pop music today can take a good turn. The sound was amazing compared to other hip hop and I was a bit amazed myself that I liked it.

 

I secretly hoped Céline would do something like this back then. Now what works musiacally at the pop market changes quickly and since it was some time since Sexy Back came out I hope timbaland has moved with times and not stands still.

 

Let Timbaland take care of the production for this entire album Céline!!!

Can Celine revive her career?

 

I'm sorry did I miss something because I wasn't ever aware that her career died?

 

True it might be that Sony don't promote her properly and she doesn't get her songs played on "hip" radio stations but in terms of album sales Celine is still right up there with the best of them. Her last proper album releases in English (forget about Miracle and A New Day...Live In Las Vegas) were amongst the biggest sellers in the world for their respective years! She has the hottest show of all time in Vegas! She has been admired throughout the industry in the past few years at the Billboard Awards (standing ovation for just presenting an award), the Grammy Awards (Dance With My Father performance), receiving a star on Hollywood Boulevard, her performance on American Idol was much admired too. And heck even if you do want to take concept albums and live albums into account she charted at #4 in America with a lullaby album! Name me someone else in history who has done that? On top of that she charted at #10 with a live album filled with songs most people have heard before.

 

If that doesn't convince you Celine is still around then look at the sales figures and nothing else (yes yes yes we all know she doesn't sell as much as she used to, NO ONE does) but boy she still moves records! It was only 3 months ago she had a number 1 record and album in France and Canada! That's amazing for an artist based in Las Vegas! Now put all of that into context and imagine what she could achieve with the right promotion because at the moment she's achieving it all without promotion.

 

If Celine wants to work with Timbaland, Ne-Yo and all the rest to try different styles musically then that's absolutely fine with me, but it certainly isn't because she needs to "revive her career."

this days they combine the billboard charts diffrently - celine can easily make it to the top 10 even without radio stations playing her songs...it wont stay there for long but she'll have her hit . all they have to do is releasing her singles to legal downloads on ITUNES and such websites . if each member here would download her single only once she can debut at no 1 and then radio stations might even start playing her songs

As always gogo you know I completely agree with you on the promotional side of things as well as lost chances with singles. It isn't just lack of airplay or single hits that Celine is lacking though, it's poor song choices! That too may be the reason for her lack of hit singles remember. Goodbye's The Saddest Word and Have You Ever Been In Love are just two examples that spring to mind. Neither had any chance of ever being a hit in the USA. However the albums both songs were on were great successes. Which is more important?

 

On any given Celine album there is ALWAYS a wealth of material Sony can choose from to promote said album but in the past few years their choices have been as bizrarre as they have been diverse. The only songs I can truly applaud them for releasing are "A New Day Has Come", "I'm Alive" and "I Drove All Night."

 

Perhaps that's why it's important to note that Timbaland or no Timbaland Celine will not have another single success without Sony making the right choices for her. The albums will always sell.

Wasn't A New Day Has Come number one on the charts for about 28 weeks? I remember that song playing on all of the radio stations and it was number one for quite some time.

 

HYEBIL was number two on the charts for sometime also beat by Uncle Cracker's drift away. So her last hits were later than late 90's/2000.

 

I think if the new singles are done in a way that showcase her still beautiful voice while having a catchy upbeat sound without sounding too much like Nelly Furtado I think she'd do great. Remember what sounds good from Nelly or other hip-hop or R&B artists will not necessarily sound good coming from Celine. IMO this has to be done VERY carefully as this could truly make or break her "comeback" as people are calling it. Coming back from what I don't know cuz I don't think she ever left.

I'm sure she will gain a lot of success with her coming album..... I mean Timberland is the most populare producer in the world right now and he she should be proud that he can work with such an amazing voice...I'm pretty sure that the sound of her next coming album will be different but still great...I love r&b..just think of the new songs by Nelly Furtadothey are all produced by Timberland..they have groove and I love them...I think Celine's new sound will be similar....

She probably create a new sound because she know that people out there (except us) doesn'T want this endless ballads anymore...They want something to "shake their body away"..gg My greatest wish is that she has ballads and r&b songs on her album...but as you guys I still prefer her love songs

Celine Dion is taking her career down a hip hop route by working with superproducer Timbaland.

 

The My Heart Will Go On warbler has turned to the man behind Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado’s biggest hits to resurrect her career.

 

Celine’s new album is likely to feature tracks from Tim, R.Kelly and R’n’B mastermind Ne-Yo.

 

Web reports also say Eurythmics man Dave Stewart and some guy from Evanesence are involved in the Diva’s new LP.
