I don’t know. But the first part is the soundcheck. It’s a bit long.

Is this the dvd version or the one that was televised?? Or are they the same thing as in sound? Was the televised live and the dvd dubbed any?

Both are undubbed. This is the DVD version.

I just rewatched the DVD of this concert tonight which I very much enjoyed again after not having seen it for many years.

 

I gotta admit though that watching this again flagged up all those weird rumours that went around about Garou and I can definitely see here at the end of their duet she looks extremely uncomfortable with him and then again at the end when she’s leaving the venue, she hugs everyone else, looks like she’s going to hug Garou and changes her mind and just briefly speaks to him and he doesn’t look happy at that. It does make me wonder what really did go on there, if anything.

 

Perhaps she felt as though he crossed a line with getting too touchy feely at the end of their various duet appearances over the years. What do you guys think?

I've always thought the same. The vibe is strange between them on this DVD. Wonder what went down? Is this the last time they performed together?

I've re-watched the dvd a couple of days ago and I felt the same.

I can't be the only one who felt he was being particularly obvious that night, with the way he was staring at her..

 

Meanwhile, the concert for Saint-Justine was just 2 weeks before and she still seemed quite happy with his attentions back then.

Maybe something happened during rehearsals? (if they had any)

 

On the other hand, didn't he switch management around that time? Maybe she was just a little angry about that...

 

After 2007, they've been in at least 1 French tv show together and I think Garou mentioned meeting Céline in Paris last year. But they haven't sung SLV since 2007, which is a pity...

I’ve always wondered if that’s why they parted ways because of his actions tbh but she’s clearly very free with the other guy duet partners during that show but not quite so much with Garou, especially at the end of the song. To me it’s like he’s always took the wrong idea from how affectionate she can be but we all know that’s just Celine being Celine.

 

I didn’t like the way during the song that when she touched his cheek he kissed her hand and then she gave him her hand and again he kissed it. I definitely think he crossed a line with her on a few occasions during their duets together. Maybe he did feel something for her, who knows, just always found it so much more noticeable this particular night.

I think the reason of the discomfort is because he had said in an interview something along the lines that he didn't want to be a variety singer like celine dion, which is what rene was building his career to be. the term variety singer was somehow demeaning in the way he used it, as in someone who has no artistic integrity or something of the sort. i don't remember which interview that came from, but it was shocking.

Oh really, well that does make sense then because she clearly isn’t happy at the end of the song when he pulls her in for a cuddle. She’s not good at disguising discomfort and she is clearly uncomfortable/unhappy with him.

 

Anyway, just an observation while watching the dvd that was all.

I think we’re talking about the vocals of Céline being undubbed. So, about the instrumentals “if” there’s a guitar error. It should be fixed in DVD version
