I'm talking about Caroline : I don't think it was playback (or maybe just the beginning). But 2 or 3 other songs were in playback (Caruso especially)

LOL but celine sang with her lips something else - u can see it in the video , u could tell she doesnt remmember some of the words - she was probably too busy to learn "caroline" and "caruso" . we have to remmember that she was very tired , she recorded 2 specials that night not to mention her vegas show and all . we all know how rene lovesssssss playbacks he said so himself recently but i truely think this time she just didnt have enough time to learn "caroline" and "caruso" - she never sang those songs before

yeahh that was the highlight of the night . it sounds like 100% live and her high notes almost broke my my glass of water

it's also the first time that celine is singing with an animal - there was a goat there , i swear i heard a goat - she got more lines than celine but i dont have a problem with that i mean after all celine made history . we all know celine loveeeeeeeeees to sing and that she would sing with basicly anyone . now after making history on american idol and reviving elvis celine is singing with a goat

Caroline was NOT in playback on carolin. It was 100% live....The only thing is she didn't know the song, so she had to stayed focused on the prompter, but she definitely sang it.

La chanteuse à la renommée internationale a convié de grands noms de la chanson pour partager avec elle les plus grands tubes français et internationaux spécialement pour cette émission.

 

Cette soirée d'exception permet à TF1 de se placer en tête des audiences de la soirée en réunissant 4.987.440 téléspectateurs. « Céline » réalise en effet, d'après les chiffres médiamétrie communiqués par TF1, 28% de part d'audience sur l'ensemble du public (4 ans et plus), et 32.5% sur les femmes de moins de 50 ans.

 

Une audience plutôt moyenne par rapport à la portée de l'évènement...

i dont know how things go in france but 28% is what the most watched show here gets more or less . it's not amazing but for sure not a flop . also - u have to remmember that it was on saturday night and alot of people went out which means that most of those who stayed home probably watched it

well performing live is harder specialy if it's not your first or second language like in "caruso" or when the song is not exactly in your comfort zone like "caroline" . in the studio she can record each one of the songs as many times as she wants and pay more attention to the lyrics . it's still not an excuse ofcours but we all know that's how rene and celine r working for some time now and this time she really didnt have the time to learn all the songs with her vegas show and the recording of the 2 specials

Well, can I understand that.

But I thought that Celine and Rene lived by the motto "all the way",

if they're gonna do a thing they're gonna do it all they way..

And I think that doing 2 shows at one night and not giving her enough time to learn the songs properly is NOT all the way!

 

I'm just not a big fan of playback, that's all.....

People, get it into your head already: all duets were live, the only songs in playback were the songs from D'elles: Et s'il n'en restait qu'une (je serai celle-la), A cause and Immensite. Everything else was live!
