Celine Book Idea

Given some of the ideas presented here by you guys, this is my first layout idea for a "personal page" in the book.

Obviously some people will have more text, more/less pictures, may or may not want to include things like ticket scans, etc. I'm just throwing out an idea to get things rolling.

It looks very nice. However, we can't make all the pages the same, it would be boring. We should have like 3, 4 or 5 page designs and alterante. Maybe the book should also have an index on countries, so she'll be able to see really fast that people from ALL OVER went to see her .

About the title I'll go with "A New Day... stories". If not, maybe something like "A New Day... through fans' eyes".

And maybe, if technically possible, maybe we could put in some inserts with hand written notes from us....kindda like what they did with For Keeps, only our notes would be the original ones :giggle: Like every ten pages or so, put an insert with SMALL hand written notes from the people in those pages.

Also, maybe we could put in some of the funniest photos from our travels in Vegas, related to A New Day and Celine or not. I just remember she once said that she wishes her fans would go and do other stuff, see something else, not just her, so we may just prove to her, in a funny way, that we do. Not to mention making her laugh or even smile would be so precious :in_love: We could do a vote on the funniest ones people send right here on the forum, as I can't imagine there'll be space for all of them.

Sound wonderful! I completely agree that the layout designs should vary throughout the book. Obviously, each person's page will vary on how big the pictures are, how much they write, whether or not they want to include things on the page, etc. I think that, as long as we keep a consistent theme, it will still look good. The colors can vary, etc... so that it's not boring... but it can still look cohesive.

Elaine from the forum here actually sent me a PM today with some of your same ideas! She suggested small handwritten letters/notes also. I would LOVE to make it "For Keeps-style," but I don't think that I could get the inserts to work. So, I was thinking... what about having them scanned and then printed in section of the book. What do you guys think?

I completely agree about having a "photos from Vegas" section. Again, Elaine just PMed me with that idea as well. I like your idea of including Celine-related and Non-Celine-related pictures. Sounds awesome!

Yeah, that's perfect. I feel like this book book will be an on-going project throughout the year for some of us, and I will most likely try to get it to Celine in December.

So guys, that's the PM I sent Jen with all my ideas :

I thought something like this. On the 1st pages we could have kind of a presentation of the fans, with their photos, and some information regarding Céline, such as where they are from, how long this person has been a fan, favorite song and etc, which could look something like this: http://www.ch.ic.ac.uk/ectoc/echet98/photos/album.jpg

Then we could have a page for each fan telling their stories about Vegas, experiences and etc.

Then we could have a part only for the pictures. So all the pictures of fans in Vegas could be there.

And then we could have the goodbye page in all the languages spoken by the fans and then the End....

Ah, and I thought something about the title too:

If anyone else wants to send me their information for a "personal page" (i.e. photos, short paragraph about their experience in Vegas, location, name, etc), you are more than welcome so that I can make a second mock-up with someone else's info to see how it looks/works.

Don't worry about making the paragraph perfect... this can just be first draft to see how it looks... right my my paragraph in that picture says "blah blah blah". :ermm:

NOTE: With pictures, the BIGGER the BETTER. With bigger, hi-res photos the printing quality will be much better. So if you have large copies I'd appreciate it!

Well everybody, I bought a ticket for the 14th of December, so I'm locked into going to Vegas in December.

I just wanted to get everyone's opinion on binding for the book. Here are my options:

Harcover:

"Casewrap"

Casewrap hardcovers look like standard hardcover textbooks - glossy cover.

i think that one person should do it and all of us send him/her our pages of this book:) it's nice! if we want to do a big book with fan from all over the world it's good idea:)

Sarah sent me her information, so I created the following page for her (as well as updating one for myself).

P.S. - Don't mind the text in the pictures... it doesn't actually say anything. Neither of us have actually written our paragraphs yet.

I haven't gotten any other suggestions on profile page layout/design, so what do you guys think about this general idea? On the parts where I have "place filler" I was thinking about listing the dates/number of times that we have seen Celine. Any objections? Any other ideas?

The last time that I "spoke" with Jennifer she had mentioned that there would be a deadline for sure and that she'd like to be sure that she has everythign done early in case something goes wrong.

Yep, it will be available for purchase if you like how it turns out and want a copy for yourself... shouldn't cost much, either, but I'll have a better understanding of that once I know how many pages this will be.

I can only send my stuff after I get my pic with Celine. Is there a deadline?

There will be a deadline, but I haven't set one yet. Obviously we will try to get this to Celine in December, but as Marisa said I will be setting a deadline *just in case* to make sure everything looks good with the book, etc. I'll let you all know the deadline once I decide.
