Celine Book Idea

Hi everyone...

I have an idea to put together a book recounting Celine fans' experiences, stories, and photos of A New Day... in Las Vegas.

My idea is to have a hardcover book actually printed and then somehow handed off to Celine prior to the final A New Day... show.

I would like for this to be a collective gift from her fans, like a big "Thank You" at the end of all of this. I would love for each person to have his/her own page, with photos of when they were in Las Vegas for the show and quotes with their stories about the show (how you felt, what you saw, "Celine friends" you met in Vegas, maybe you met Celine, etc...). I want her to know how much this show in Las Vegas has meant to us. She sees & meets so many of us every day... so I would love for her to have a keepsake that she can keep. This way we can all tell her our story and give her our "thanks.'

What do you all think? Would anyone like to be involved?

Also, I have started coming up with a few book cover ideas, but I would LOVE to get your input. Also, I still need a book title! Any ideas would be GREAT!

I made a book for her this past March. It was a scrap book that contained a page for each fan and there were 15 of us. And each page had a photo of the person, a small Q&A section (asking stuff like favorite song, how long you've been a fan, etc), and a letter from the person to Celine.

Anyways, we gave it to Yves after the show one night and he was SO nice about it and said he will give it to Michel. Then then next night after the show we saw Michel and he recognized us from the book and said Celine was looking at it right then. So you can definitely get it to her!

I think it would be a really nice idea to give her a memory book for the show. It can show her own journey through the show...special events and stuff like that....mixed in with stories from fans.

I'll be happy to help as well.

This would be a whole lot easier if we all lived near each other. When I did the other book...for only 15 people....it took a LOT of time to put together. There was a ton of printing, cutting, pasting, etc. At least if some of us lived near each other we could each tackle one part.

But anyways if you need any help, let me know.

Count me in as well! Maybe you could make it easier by creating a template for the fan pages...

places for pictures and asking the same questions to each of the fans... So it has consistency rather than being a bunch of random pages.

We're already making a book for everyone who's been to the DVD-taping last week.. And we want to send it to her when everyone has received their picture with Céline (hopefully it'll be in time for her birthday). :wub:

Tal - I agree that it would be a lot easier if we all lived near each other. So everybody, come to Seattle! I thought about a scrapbook-type book (as I love to do that), but I took into consideration the amount of time it would take. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to that, and it takes me forever to put together just one page! That is why I would love to Photoshop the pages on this one and then have it printed into a bound book (most likely hardcover).

Anyway, I'm good at design in Photoshop, but this is a book from all of us. I can put this together, but I'm looking for input from EVERYBODY so that this book isn't just from me.

I have some cover design ideas in mind, but I need to think of a title first. Any ideas? If ANYONE can think of a good title for this book (because I think it needs one, don't you? Or at least it needs to say something on the front)... PLEASE give me your ideas!

Also, give me your ideas for cover design OR for what you think the "fan pages" should look like. Anyone have some good ideas?

I was also thinking about - near the beginning of the book - having one page that simply says "Thank you," but written in all of the languages natively spoken by everyone in the book. What do you think?

I know shed really appreciate that, everyone whos met celine either has autographs, photos or memories...

celine has met so many fans over the past 5 years @ A new day..., and now she can look back at those pictures, remember that meeting, or gift/story she received, and its so personal she'll love it....

I agree about what you said, and that's the hope.

I have never met Celine... but I got a hug and the rose once while in front row. She does this every night, and I was just one of the hundreds... but this way I will get to let her know that I really appreciate that moment. It is a moment in my life that I will never forget.

Some of us have met her, but most of us have simply seen the show. She sings to thousands of us every night, but I'm sure she doesn't realize what a momentous occassion it is for some of us. I think this all started when I read this quote from back in 2005 (I think):

"People come here for four days, they eat too much, drink too many free drinks, they get sick from all that, they are jet-lagged sometimes so they just sit in the seat and sleep.

"As an entertainer, you have to be prepared for everything when it comes to the audience here. When you tour, people come there specifically that night to see you.

"They bought their tickets months and months ago. Here, they walk up to the box office an hour before the show. It's a very different kind of audience."

Right, I plan on making this as Hi-Res as possible... I want it to print nicely.

And Tal, thank SO much for your layout ideas via PM. The layout of the "fan page" is very much what I want to shoot for. When I get home, I'll make a mock-up page or cover and post it on here to get the ideas rolling. (I'm at work right now... obviously working hard... don't you just love Microsoft?) In the meantime, I welcome everyone else's designs.

well it depends how fast it gets done I suppose, but it has to be perfect, theres no point in rushing this....!!!

a few of us have contacts in vegas, but then again rene, patrick and michel walk around there alot so it wont be that difficult to get it to her....

im going in march , i cant wait....

jennifer having tal on this project you cant go wrong, shes excellent at presentations, a real pro....

I cant wait to help u guys get started!!

Yes, please, absolutely be a part of it! As far as what you can do to help... do you have any ideas for a title?

I know someone else who hasn't seen the show, but will in December... and yeah, I want her to be in the book too! So yes, I agree with you... you can talk about your expectations, planning, excitement, how you'll be meeting with fans, etc.

As far as who will hand it over to her... I have no idea. I have no contacts. (Well, I had a contact that got me the hug and rose a few years ago... but I think she could only pull strings that particular week). I *might* be in Vegas in August, but that is way too early to try to get it to her. Ideally, I would like to get it to her the final week of the show. Do you guys think that would be possible? I'll just hang out at Caesars with you guys for a few days and we can all be on the lookout for Rene, Michel, Patrick, etc... haha.

How about something like "Je Chanterai Toujours" except change the "je" to "tu" or "vous" (whichever is more appropriate) and properly conjugate the verb.

Or "Je Ne Vous Oublie Pas" and instead of the je we put nous so its like "we will never forget you".
