MalaysiaCeline Posted September 30, 2007 at 10:16 AM Posted September 30, 2007 at 10:16 AM ...those who listened to ALONE and said she isnt sound as great, as crystal clear as before that might be H.E.A.R.T did a great orginal recording. It is jst a cover, i would rather say Celine paying respect to H.E.A.R.T by covering this song into her most favorite english album, respect the songwriter, the orginal singer but not outsing H.E.A.R.T by showing how soaring Celine could be.....Celine should get respect for covering this song because she appreciate nice music and nice singer, after all ALONE is not the selling point to this CD..there is lots more tracks in this CD which is written to Celine....one of them definitely is Surprise! Surprise, i think this song should grab our attention by hearing what celine sang in the recording session....there is lots more potential for this song to be promoted to the whole world, NO crystal clear voice? PLEASE listen carefully ...the verse " you wake up from your dream" how crystal clear she is to sing "from your dream" which this kind of singing been missed in the past english album.....furthermore, when she starts singing "girl(god)? i m so sorry, i just so sorry, what can i say, heart (what is the word that Kara emphasizes a lot) try to stay...she sounded great....Jst when you think you know me weLLLLLllllll ...can anyone here not agree with me she sings it well? at last part of the song...she belts out a lot with lots of background vocal "Just when you THINK...you got me figured out, just when you think, you got me figured out...SURPRISE! SURPRISEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeee this is definitely my number 1 fav in this album....though it is not a complete song from the recording sessions but i can actually figured out how the song will sound ..started off slow....calm....at the end she belt out a lot, a lot....maybe not high notes, maybe not long notes ...but sure Celine will manage to deliever the message of this song ...there is no doubt...sometimes a singer can just shout ..shout...belt out long notes..high notes....trying hard to showcase how capable they can sing by singing high notes....holding long notes...but sad to say that after finished the song...we jst heard a singer singing a song with so much skills but we completely no understanding of what is she or he singing...not to mention to understand the mesage of the songwriter trying to deliver to the audience...another rediculous point is...someone here pointed out our Celine is getting lazy? EXCUSE ME...if she is LAZY...she no needs to entertain those producer jst record the song the way she wants....she keeps on trying to give her best..while many of us here complaining she sounded nasal, she sounded not as crystal clear as she used to be in 90s, she should stop singing, she need to retire.....sigh.....Celine is jst a person who love to sing..she will not expect the whole world will like her voice or her songs...but there is still lots of the people love her songs.....so for those who expect a crystal clear Celine, those who asked her to retire and rest, may i jst have one request, kindly JUST listen to her crystal clear recording album in old times and stop buying and listen to all her so called "not so clear vocally" album....Celine dont needs all of us to buy her album to get her number one best female singer in the world...she proven once....even if this album doesnt enter the billboard number 1 doesnt mean she is no longer a great singer.... "The beauty of life does not depends on how happy you are, but on how happy others can be because of you."I believe Celine music had indeed brought lots of joys and cheers to the whole world. Celine I am so proud of you..... thevoice Posted September 30, 2007 at 10:59 AM Posted September 30, 2007 at 10:59 AM my review so far : EYES ON ME - the best song i heard so far . sounds like one of her best recordings in english EVER . everything fits perfectly - that's how i like her voice - strong , powerful , full notes without those nasal parts towards the end.kristian suprised me - how could it be that he is the same person who wrote "i'm alive"?!?this song HAS TO BE the second single...i cant really get how it's not the first one - it could burn radio stations on almost all formats - talking about something fresh - what a treasure ALONE - after reading shon's review i truely expected it to be dull and boring - IT'S NOT .perfect vocals for this kind of song - celine did justice here with this classic still - i don't think they should release it as a single...people r too familliar with the original version . WORLD TO BELIEVE IN - again what a suprise . john shanks - the same producer who is responsible for some of the worst musical crimes in history? i expected something else and i'm so happy it's a powerful ballad .probably not the best song on the album tho we heard only small parts of it ...still - nice song SUPRISE SUPRISE - the song itself is nice but that Kara woman just makes me wanna skip this song . i have nothing against perfecionists but she is not , that's not her issue .she just got her 3 minutes of fame - noone cares about her and noone probably ever will - it was all about an attitude - there was no real diffrence between the diffrent takes and u could see the other people around holding their hands on their head - she is just annoying SONG FOR YOU - the song itself is amazing but while "eyes on me" represents everything i loooove about her voice , this song represents everything i hate regarding her current voice . i truely hope what we heard is NOT the final version - vocaly it's a mess . i know she could record it in a diffrent way...they wanted to bring the emotions out of her but i truely think andrews sounded better on those few seconds we heard...it sounds like he has an amazing voice and it fits his more... THE WOMAN IN ME - not my cup of tea . i love celine thanks to her pure voice . i have nothing against her trying new things and as long as it's only 1 song whatever... overall - it sounds like we r going to get one more celine - classic moment or moments should i say .i can't wait to hear the other songs and now i know for sure that while TC is a nice song it's far from being one of the best here .how sad is it that just like with DELLES sony will waste this great opportuinity too - they already started ruinning her comeback by sending this song officialy only to AC stations...hopefuly something will change but i'm not hopeful regarding this issue .atleast the music is great Quote

AllCeline Posted September 30, 2007 at 12:32 PM Posted September 30, 2007 at 12:32 PM Guys, I'm kinda lost... I've seen the talk about an edition of the album may have two bonus tracks. So I checked out Wikipedia, and saw the they're on the Japanese version of the album. But, if I'm not wrong, I believe the standard version has 16 tracks. On Wikipedia, the bonus tracks are numbered 15 and 16. Does this mean that two songs will be replaced with the other two tracks? Or will is just be added on, making a total of 18 tracks? I don't want to pre-order the album yet, seeing as there are all these new editions coming out, and I wanna make sure I get the right one. Thanks for the help!! I don't think what speaks against Sony putting 18 tracks on one CD. Max length of one CD is 80 min so they can put 18 tracks with ease on there in my opinion. We will see in the course of this month as Sony Japan will release the official track list for the Japanese edition. First of course I CANNOT simply wait till Team Celine copies the 9-track list from amazon.co.uk and announces it as the OFFICIAL thing. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg

Teodora Posted September 30, 2007 at 02:05 PM Posted September 30, 2007 at 02:05 PM I seem to be the only one being totally obsessed with "That's Just the Woman in Me". I think what makes it even more amazing is that I know Celine does that "raw" voice thing on purpose. If there was anybody else singing like that I would think they were on the verge of breaking their voice, but with Celine, I know she's totally in control and that her voice sounds like that because that's how she wants it to sound. It's kindda like when she makes all those electric guitar sounds, you could swear they're real, if you didn't know it's her, and all kind of other sounds. That's what I find it so amazing, she does something with her voice we've never heard her do before and it shows how much in control of her voice she is. And I love it cause it's like real blues sound, not just pop with blues influence. I cannot wait to hear Celine performing this song live, that would be totally awesome! I also don't get why the infatuation with Surprise Surprise you seem to have. It sounds like just another ballad from what I've heard in the making of. But, on the good side, it does seem to have good lyrics, better than what her English songs usually have. I can't help feeling Eyes on Me sounds too.... easy.... I don't know, beside the lyrics, which I like, the music is so childish. How many days did you say are left already I can't wait to have this album in my hand. But from now on, I'm not listening to any other songs on the album until we have HQ full traks. I don't wanna spoil the feeling of getting a new Celine CD. Quote

firebird Posted September 30, 2007 at 03:49 PM Posted September 30, 2007 at 03:49 PM Lol @ the tracklist confusionJust be glad they didn't have the idea to put up one of those crappy lossy iTunes format especially only for iTunes buyers extra songs In the making-of Celine herself mentionned there'd be 14 songs on the album, during the session for Eyes On Me. So that means at least, we'll have a core track number of 14 songs which would be more than good to me. Judging from the recording sessions they really put a lot of effort in this album. I hope the result will even be better. It's really great she's releasing this album after all those half-heartedly made records during the last years. Just the recording sessions alone shows that not only Celine herself but also the people who work with her (the songwriters, the producers...) finally put some effort into an album. Sure the songs sound neither as rock nor as edgy as the promotional talk wants them to be, but for what they are, they are great, already in their unfishinished status. Quote
