down.gif I went after the Kylie concert- all the boys ran form the MEN to the Canal. Meh! glare.gif I suppose I shouldn't be greedy. It' sjust that I love Manc and wanna welcome her there and see everyone goin mad for her. Oh well can't have it all. I might be able to get shitty seats- the MEN isn't exactly huge- I had s*** seats for Kylie and it was still one of the best experiences ever.

 

 

I have a ridiculous amount of tickets for manchester because i bought some for friday and then found better ones on saturday! hahaha so you can have mine for friday if you want - they're block f, 8th row. Ive still gotta find someone to drag to the saturday one too!! hahaha but omg! 4th row on saturday!!!

um looking at the seating chart again, there doesn't appear to be an upper tier above where block 115 is, so do you think that side will be treated as the back in a way? I really hope not. I mean yes, I know the concert is in the round but surley she will mainly focus in one direction? Especially when she is talking? Now I'm worried

You guys think? . i'm scared though, i thought they would be good seats but my family's telling be different, not that they have ever been to there but you know... al they are saying is that they won't be good cause they are floor.... floor is only good of you are 1st or 2nd row... i don't know i hope they will be worth it....

no ive been much further back on the floor before to see lots of people and its fine. coz the stages are always raised. it'll be fine.

In my opinion the floor seats are good if you are not far from the stage - I mean for myself, as I'm pretty short so even 3rd, 4th row can be a problem for me with all those people staying before me, hehe...

 

That's why I also won't buy Amsterdam tickets off ticketservice if they'll offer the same stuff as yesterday... Yesterday the best what people got was like 7th or 8th row! For me it's too far, hehe... So if there will be nothing better, I will go for scalpers too... ;/

 

I mean, I don't have that much extra money but in the other hand I don't won't to pay even "just" the regular ticket price and see nothing, you know....

Canadian chanteuse cancels concert on the Halifax Commons

Quebec-born diva Celine Dion has backed out of a commitment to perform in a Halifax park this summer, with the concert promoter saying the venue can't meet the singer's ``elaborate production needs.''

 

Montreal-based Gillett Entertainment Group issued a brief statement Friday saying the Halifax Common, a sprawling park that once played host to the Pope, is ``not appropriate.''

 

The Halifax show was scheduled for Aug. 23.

Halifax regional council had agreed to provide up to $150,000 to bring Dion to the port city.

 

The Rolling Stones played to about 50,000 people last September during the first major rock concert held at the Common. Until then, the largest event at the park was a mass held by Pope John Paul II in 1984, which drew 30,000.

 

Dion's surprise announcement marks a major setback for Mayor Peter Kelly's bid to make the Common a premier venue for major music concerts.

 

Dion is planning to kick off a 45-date, North American tour in August. Halifax was among six Canadian cities — including Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton and Winnipeg — on the Taking Chances World Tour.

 

The shows will follow Dion's five-year run of sold-out performances at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. Dion is also set to tour Africa, Asia, Australia and Europe.

 

``I'm ready to hit the road again, with my husband and son by my side,`` Dion said in a statement last week. ``It's going to be so exciting to tour the U.S. and Canada.''

Maybe I'll go for them but I thought maybe there is an another site or maybe I would be more lucky on eBay?... I mean, same kind of seats but for lower price...

And what about the delivery of the MEN tickets??

 

The tickets I'm interested in are said to be send to the buyer within 24 hours since 19/05/2008 so it's pretty unsafe in my opinion regarding the show is on 02/06/2008...

 

I mean, I'm very into penpalling and also eBay and I noticed mail from the UK may sometimes take even more than 3 weeks to arrive to Germany!!... I would really prefer to get my tickets as soon as possible after buying them...

I won Celine tickets on the radio this morning!!!!!!!!!!! On lite rock 105 in Providence you needed to know the lycris to a song I knew it right away it was Taking Chances. This weekend Magic 1067 in Boston giving away tickets too.

I was driving past the American Airlines Arena (in Miami) tonight and they are already promoting the concert there. On one of the neon signs on the outside of the arena it said "Celine Dion, January 23, 2009, Tix on sale Monday November 19, 2007". They must expect those tickets to really go fast...it's over a year away.

I got 7th row too - and I’m sure they are good… at least I hope so - haha! Unless there is someone seriously tall in front of you (which I am short too, I understand) you’ll be able to see fine. Besides, the majority of TC tickets for NA dates seems to be within the 6th, 7th, and 8th rows - so you did good! I saw a 98 degrees concert a long time ago (I went through a boyband phase, lol) I was on the floor, but about two rows in front of the soundbooth - and I could hardly see at times because the people in front of me were tall... but I could see for the most part. I guess it'll all depend on how the stage is set up, but I wouldn't worry too much. Have fun… a year from now!

I saw Celine from the 7th in 1999 in Columbus, OH, and the seats were pretty good, so I wouldn't be too worried about it!

What do you mean, the venue won’t do?

 

City officials don’t believe an inadequate Halifax Common is the reason Celine Dion’s promoter cancelled the singer’s scheduled Aug. 23 concert.

 

“Following discussions with various professionals and experts, it was agreed that the venue is not appropriate for the concert’s elaborate production needs and would not satisfy the best interests of Celine Dion’s public,” Gillett Entertainment Group said in a media release yesterday.

 

“Yeah, well, that’s interesting,” HRM spokesman John O’Brien said with a laugh after being read the release. “One would think that, obviously, they know the kind of show it’s going to be. All of the sudden it’s on, and then it’s off. From our point of view, there was the announcement 10 days ago, and then for them to come back and say, ‘Well, it’s not suitable.’ I guess that would raise some questions.”

 

Mayor Peter Kelly couldn’t figure it out, either.

 

“As I understand, she brings her own stage, it’s their own process,” said Kelly, adding that Gillett approached the city about a Dion concert through Events Halifax. “So if it’s the stage, then to me that doesn’t make sense. The Gillett Group have been here. They’ve seen the Common. They were very impressed with its potential. They seemed to be very proactive in choosing that location for a concert.”

 

Downtown Coun. Dawn Sloane, too, wondered about the sudden staging concerns.

 

“I’m a little shocked,” she said. “Typically, for a concert of that magnitude … I would say that should be taken into consideration before you even ask if that individual can be there.”

 

News of the cancellation came quickly. The Daily News received an e-amil from Gillett at 3:36 p.m. When reached shortly after, Scott Ferguson said Events Halifax learned of the cancellation within the hour.

 

“There’s not much I can say about it. It’s Gillett’s call,” a dejected Ferguson said. “I guess they reviewed the site and decided that it wouldn’t work, given her production needs. I guess that’s all there is to say. I’m disappointed for sure. Again, I have to respect their position.”
