Céline's Blues Posted September 5, 2006 at 12:20 PM Posted September 5, 2006 at 12:20 PM seb , u r probably under a SCF attack . u r exaggerating everything big time - celine gave a good performance but it's not something new in matters of the music world , jazz is not something new - norah jones sold more than 10 million copies from her debut album , michael buble is doing jazz , not to mention christina's new no 1 album....while i agree that celine is singing much better than any of them , she is not doing anything "unimaginable" in terms of a new music style - she is NOT pink floyd or the beatles , she is a great vocalist - some would say the greatest but common she is not gonna change the face of music .<{POST_SNAPBACK}>You didn't get my point, gogo. I mean that certain fans do not recognize Céline as being talented enough to sing things like that. Unimaginable I used in the domain of Céline's fans, not music in general. She has much to offer for her fans, not for the music in general which I frankly said don't give a damn about since it's garbage these days. She's marked the music history already and now it's time to evolve which she is apparently doing. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg

smw Posted September 5, 2006 at 03:05 PM Posted September 5, 2006 at 03:05 PM Let's face it. Mariah deserves recognition for her vocals from back in the day. However, she is getting all of this attention now for a not-so-great album...and she's not able to sing like she once did! I mean, she's never been great live, but now it's just really bad. Anyway, I do think Mariah deserves to be remembered, but not for what she's doing now. But it does get on my nerves that she usually ranks higher than Celine on great singers charts. I mean, Celine has the range and power STILL! Quote

CSCfan Posted September 5, 2006 at 03:58 PM Posted September 5, 2006 at 03:58 PM Thanks to an all-star talent list headed by Celine Dion and a quarter of a million dedicated volunteers across the country, the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon set a record in contribuiotons and pledges. As MDA's 41st Telethon ended at 6 p.m. Monday, the tote board showed an all-time high of $61,013,855 for the voluntary health organization's programs of resarch and services to benefit people with neuromuscular diseases. luvnceline5 Posted September 6, 2006 at 03:49 AM Posted September 6, 2006 at 03:49 AM when i went to the celine dion concert last year.. it happen to be the same day they did the telethon from her show and she sang a new day.. it was so funny.. because when she first started talking to the camera she was standing backwards.. and then she started laughing.. because she finally realized it... but the funniest part.. was that.. i was in row 8 center orchestra and i was sitting by this really nice older lady who had went by herself.. and then there was a couple next to him where the guy was drunk.. and when celine introduced jerry lewis the drunk guy stood up and yelled, "I love celine, she is the best!!!"" really loud.. and everyone was just looking at him like "what an idiot" i felt so bad for the older lady next to me.. she turned to me and said "get me away from him!!!!" and then there was this old old lady in from of us.. and she was sooo mean.. she was like really stuck up and rich... and was mean.. and she kept turing around at me and saying.. "excuse me you are kicking my chair.. stop it!!" and i never kicked it.. i was like "stop ruining to show.. " and the lady next to me couldn't believe it.. the lady was so rude to all of us the whole show... other then all that.. it was sooo much fun.. everyone was way excited to be on TV!!! and her hair looked amazing that night... straight with the little curl at the end.. i loved it like that sooo much!! Koolan Posted September 6, 2006 at 03:49 AM Posted September 6, 2006 at 03:49 AM CELINE MANIACS.COM YOU NEED TO GIVE MATHIAS ( CSCFAN ) CREDIT FOR GETTING THOSE PHOTOGRAPHS... NOW!!! I DEMAND IT! Please show some courtesy.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Ditto!! They could thank other people but NEVER mentioned this forum as source or thanked any member from here before. Guess what I found when I went to their site??!!! a mp3 of Summertime in their Rare Songs Section II, he writes [Thanks a lot Loren] Who is this mysterious person? Some name I don't ever remember seeing on their news section. So, I was curious and decided to download it to check the song's quality. hey, what do you know??!! my ears couldn't tell the difference between the 2 mp3s To further examine this, I then proceeded to load both files into a sound editing program to check the sound waves. Both waves look very identical!! At this point, i was convinced this file was a reencode of our original. Not only did he reencode it to 128kbit/s, he cut off 1 second at the end. Slick, but not slick enough!! The beginning starts off at the same exact time, while the audience was clapping. To further prove this, the volume level is exactly the same Bellamy increased the volume on the mp3 since it was a little low. Now, it isn't a coincidence that both are the same volume. If you're going to do this, at least take some time and do a better job of editing the mp3. Here is an attached screencap from the comparison of the 2 sound waves: it's really obvious from looking at that. They really have something against mentioning other Celine sites as a source or thanking them on their news section. I don't remember they ever mention any Celine fan site in their news. I'd advise anyone working for them to reevaluate their decision on whether to continue. I don't want to make this sound like we're not williing to share with other sites but it'd be nice to ask us first. Thanking a nonexistent person is really lame. I really wonder who their "exclusive source" gave them the news about Celine performing during the first 15 minutes of the telethon. Cut off one sec in the end, and re-encoded it into 128kbps, that's why the audio graphic looks a bit different. But the audio is still quite identical, and 99% the same.
