Goldman has made up that song thinking about a musical that he wanted to do but the project never got achieved and th tune was part of the said project .With the success of the Titanic poject, he thought about giving it to Celine for a try, ad it worked

Je Crois Toi is really beautiful and gives me chills every time. It has been a wonderful choice as album opener, instead of beginning with a power song, they chose a song that's so soft, vulnerable and poetic. It is probably the classiest beginning of an album.

 

Other good songs are:

* Zora Sourit

* En Attendant Ses Pas

* Papillon

* Dans Un Autre Monde (although I have heard it a little too much)

* Tous Les Blues...

and SSDA

 

I don't care so much for ONCP, Je Chanterai and Sur Le Même Bateau.

That album was my first french Celine experience. It showed me that she is more than a "singing Diva" and her french repertoire put her above WH and MC.

I remember when I first discovered this album, during a summer probably around 2001/2002. It wasn’t an immediate crush after buying the CD, it took some years to sink in.

 

First it was the Je crois toi song and the hypnotic ACDS performance. Then that summer while taking short trips in the car with my parents... I couldn’t take out of my head En attendant ses pas and L’abandon

I fell in love with On Ne Change Pas that was back in gradeschool around 2005. My first french song of Céline that i heard of. Then, Dans Un Autre Monde (i remember watching it on YouTube, her hairstyle that time was side bangs and she looked gorgeous on that video)

I do consider ssda better than D'eux as well. It feels more timeless or maybe that's just me idk

Or maybe it's the sound production too, D'eux sounds dated today while SSDA has a more orchestral arrangement throughout the whole album that can stand the test of time.

I just think that D'eux has been overly performed, not overrated. But I don't think my thoughts here make much sense since I believe Sans Attandre is a better album than Encore Un soir ahah
