LaFeeRailleuse Posted March 9, 2006 at 05:40 PM Posted March 9, 2006 at 05:40 PM merci beacoup mes amie. I see, it depend on how you approach other people. got it!<{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you're talking to a girl =merci mon amie a guy=merci mon ami several girls=merci mes amies several guys (or girls and guys)=merci mes amis Hope I'm not confusing you too much! Quote
VanMerlin Posted March 9, 2006 at 05:40 PM Posted March 9, 2006 at 05:40 PM (edited) Now, 'mes' implies plural, and nouns agree with gender and number, for the most part (if I'm not mistaken). So ami would have to be plural as well. Therefore, you must add an 's'. So, it would be, 'mes amis' because the group to which you are refering is made up of both men and women, and in those cases, you use the masculine form. You'd only use the feminine plural form if absolutely sure you are talking to a group of only girls. Okay, you posted before I did, so that answers that. Thanks... VanMerlin Posted March 10, 2006 at 06:23 PM Posted March 10, 2006 at 06:23 PM No, English is on the list of the hardest languages to learn. You have to be very patient. Your students aren't going to simply pick everything up instantly and be right..not for a very long time and with a lot of reinforcement. Quote

Spanish or Filifipno, they are so proudof that cause for them it make different that there is No! words barrier..even people that they can't speak they will teach you how to do the sign Languages to reach for them... In my case I have a lot of note pad... Korean: Bogushipo = i miss youKamshahanida = your welcomeunni = loveSarangheyo= thank you Spanish: como uste usta =how are youme nombre Lia= my name is LiaNo habla spanyol= Dont speak spanish thats how far I can learn so far from the people at work who teach me how to speak their languages... LaFeeRailleuse Posted March 10, 2006 at 07:03 PM Posted March 10, 2006 at 07:03 PM When I say English easier, Imean that you have more things to learn if you want to learn French! We talked about the word "friend"... In English you have friends or friend... In French you have : ami, amie, amis, amies... I spoke a bit of Spanish... But I didn't pratice for a long time! I only can say:Me llamo Mylène. Soy de Francia. Tengo 20 años... and some simple things like that I love that language too! Quote

Célinefull Posted March 11, 2006 at 02:49 AM Posted March 11, 2006 at 02:49 AM yes, tu est folle <{POST_SNAPBACK}> "Tu es" lol"est" is for the 3rd person = elle/il (equivalent to she/he is) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ha, lol thanks [/insert eye roll smily here] One thing I have noticed, when I talk to someone who doesn't speak perfect English, I rarely correct them, I just adjust to what they are saying, but I always get corrected when I speak to someone in French. I don't know why that is, I think it has something to do with the fact that French people don't usually come into contact with as many people who aren't fluent in there language as English speakers do.
