this is my little conversation look like while he is talking to me...

answer to him:

Lia: Salut!  my friend

Lia:  merci beacoup!  mon ami

Lia: oui

Lia: non

what do you think?

and in his emoticon his eye pop-up and asked me where did I learn all those words...

Very good! :thumbsup2:

Ami is Friend for guys and Amie is Friend for girls! :)

And if you want to put it at the plural form, you just have to add an S! :flowers:

If you're talking to a girl =

merci mon amie

a guy=

merci mon ami

several girls=

merci mes amies

several guys (or girls and guys)=

merci mes amis :D

Hope I'm not confusing you too much! :flowers:

Now, 'mes' implies plural, and nouns agree with gender and number, for the most part (if I'm not mistaken). So ami would have to be plural as well. Therefore, you must add an 's'.

So, it would be, 'mes amis' because the group to which you are refering is made up of both men and women, and in those cases, you use the masculine form. You'd only use the feminine plural form if absolutely sure you are talking to a group of only girls.

Okay, you posted before I did, so that answers that. Thanks...

French is hard, good luck!  :bye1:

It's obviously easier for us to learn English... than fir English-speaking people to learn French :ermm:

No, English is on the list of the hardest languages to learn. You have to be very patient. Your students aren't going to simply pick everything up instantly and be right..not for a very long time and with a lot of reinforcement.

very true.. but then again its depend on the person who is willing to learn

how to speak different languages... the other person that teaching you

how to speak French... Korean... Spanish or Filifipno, they are so proud

of that cause for them it make different that there is No! words barrier..

even people that they can't speak they will teach you how to do the

sign Languages to reach for them...

In my case I have a lot of note pad...

Korean:

Bogushipo = i miss you

Kamshahanida = your welcome

unni = love

Sarangheyo= thank you

Spanish:

como uste usta =how are you

me nombre Lia= my name is Lia

No habla spanyol= Dont speak spanish

thats how far I can learn so far from the people at work who teach me how

to speak their languages... Now I am learning how to speack French and saying

to all that teach me every day here...

When I say English easier, Imean that you have more things to learn if you want to learn French!

We talked about the word "friend"... In English you have friends or friend... In French you have : ami, amie, amis, amies... :o

I spoke a bit of Spanish... But I didn't pratice for a long time!

I only can say:

Me llamo Mylène. Soy de Francia. Tengo 20 años... and some simple things like that :D

I love that language too! :in_love:

ha, lol thanks [/insert eye roll smily here]

One thing I have noticed, when I talk to someone who doesn't speak perfect English, I rarely correct them, I just adjust to what they are saying, but I always get corrected when I speak to someone in French. I don't know why that is, I think it has something to do with the fact that French people don't usually come into contact with as many people who aren't fluent in there language as English speakers do.
