    TORONTO, Feb. 6 /CNW/ - Every four years the world governing body of

football, FIFA, grants rights for the creation of the "Official Music"

programme for the biggest single event in the world: The FIFA World Cup. For

the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany those rights have been acquired by

Syco/SonyBMG. Recognising the fantastic promotion opportunities that are

available for the "Official Song" during this years tournament (June 9th -

July 9th) multi-million selling Syco artists Il Divo have been invited to

perform the beautiful, uplifting ballad "Time Of Our Lives", written by BMG

Music song writer Jorgen Elofsson and produced by Steve Mac.

    "Time of Our Lives" will be premiered by Il Divo at The Opening Ceremony

in Munich on June 9th, which is expected to attract a worldwide TV audience in

excess of 1,000,000,000 people (ONE BILLION).

    The Official Music programme of the 2006 FIFA World Cup also features the

"Official Album" to be released in May 2006, on which the Official Song will

be available exclusively until November 2006. To avoid the pitfalls inherent

in past football-themed Official Albums, Syco has created a superstar

compilation Album titled "VOICES", designed to be marketed right through to

the end of 2006 and then brought back again and again in the future as a   

TV-driven brand, with the same potential that Sony's "VH1-DIVAS" proved to

have in the 1990's.

    "VOICES" will be launched in late May off the back of the Official Song

of 2006 FIFA World Cup, "The Time of Our Lives" performed by Il Divo and will

feature hit songs from superstar artists such as Il Divo, Mariah Carey,

Celine Dion, Rod Stewart, Eros Ramazzotti, Julio Iglesias, Whitney Houston,

Anastacia, Shakira and many many more.

    The connection between the "Voices" Album and the 2006 FIFA World Cup

will be focused not only around Il Divo's "Official Song" but also around a

2nd FIFA World Cup "Anthem", recorded in German, French & English by Germany's

biggest male artist Herbert Groenemeyer (who you may also know from the

German TV/Movie classic "Das Boot") and also with the inclusion on the Album

of tracks by superstar artists with strong football connections such Eros

Ramazzotti, Shakira, Youssou N'dour, Julio Iglesias and Mick Hucknall. Both Il

Divo's "Official Song" and Herbert Groenemeyer's "Anthem" will be exclusive to

the "Voices" album until November 2006.

I guess you have to read again. They will perform a new song called "Time of our lives". I really hopt they use a new song from Celine and don't put old stuff on it!
