Celine and the unveiling of her statue in Paris

La star internationale fait son entrée à Grévin à l'issue d'une présentation de sa statue en avant-première ce dimanche au cours de l'émission de Michel Drucker "Vivement Dimanche".

 

Elue par l'Académie Grévin depuis bien longtemps, la Québécoise a accueilli l'équipe des ateliers Grévin à Las Vegas en mai dernier pour leur permettre de prendre des photos et les mesures nécessaires à la réalisation de sa statue. Pour habiller son personnage, la chanteuse a offert la somptueuse combinaison blanche brodée de perles qu'elle portait lors de ses deux concerts au Stade de France en 1999.

 

Les visiteurs du Musée pourront l'admirer dès ce 6 février, aux côtés des statues de toutes les autres vedettes du spectacle, de la politique, du sport, des Lettres et de l'Histoire. Une deuxième reproduction sera également inaugurée en mai prochain au Caesars Palace de Las Vegas, pour marquer la 500ème représentation de son spectacle "A New Day" dans la ville-casino. C'est René qui doit être content.

Celine Dion at the Grevin Museum On February 6

 

Celine Dion will forever be a part of the Grevin Museum with the unveiling of her wax statue. An exclusive preview presentation will take place on Sunday, February 5 during Michel Drucker's show, "Vivement Dimanche."

 

The opportunity to immortalize international superstar Celine Dion has been Grevin Museum's long-time dream. Celine and Rene welcomed the museum team in Las Vegas in May 2005 when the necessary measurements and photos were taken in order to create the statue. In October 2005, while in Paris promoting her latest CD, Celine and Rene Angelil approved the work of art and Celine was photographed with the statue.

 

Thibault Vabre, make-up artist to the stars and Celine's friend, worked with Grevin's make-up artist to give direction on the final details of the statue. The 'Parisian' statue will be dressed in the extravagant, white embroidered outfit that Celine wore during her two shows at the Stade of France in 1999.

 

The Celine Dion statue will be unveiled on February 6, 2006 in the Grevin Museum Theatre. Special guests will include Michel Drucker, Charles Aznavour, Henri Salvador and many other famous people from show business, politics, sport, literature and history.

 

The official unveiling of the second statue, which will remain on display at The Colosseum at Caesar's Palace, will take place in Las Vegas in May 2006. This will be Grevin's premiere on American soil. The statue will be in Las Vegas in time for the benefit show celebrating the 500th performance of A New Day...

 

On Monday February 6, Grevin will give Celine fans the magical opportunity to be photographed "at her side."

Yes, and considering that it happens during her February break (she will be back in Vegas on Feb., 20th) it's a bit weird. She should have something very important to do during these days.

i wonder what she will do then... or maybe its true and she doesnt care about those 'promotion' things and she's gonna do sun bathing, and swimming all day... hehehe

 

but on the official site they say almost the same!! but when i check the website for VD it doesnt say anything about the preview presentation!! And i wonder what they will show, because the real unveiling is the day after.... :S why cant they just show that too!!

Céline Dion aura sa statue de cire

 

(AP) - Le personnage de cire de Céline Dion fera son entrée à Grévin le 6 février, a-t-on appris vendredi auprès du musée parisien.

La chanteuse québécoise a accueilli, en mai dernier, à Las Vegas, l'équipe des ateliers Grévin pour lui permettre de prendre les photographies et mensurations nécessaires à la création de son personnage de cire.

 

En octobre, de passage à Paris pour la promotion de son dernier album, Céline Dion a posé au côté de sa statue, accompagnée de son mari, le producteur René Angélil, après avoir visité le musée avec leur fils René-Charles.

 

La chanteuse en a profité aussi pour faire réaliser la touche finale du maquillage de son personnage par Thibault Vabre, le maquilleur des célébrités. Et elle a offert la robe blanche brodée de perles qu'elle portait lors de ses deux concerts au Stade de France en 1999, pour habiller son personnage, ainsi que le veut la tradition.

 

Comme Céline Dion ne pourra pas se déplacer à Paris, sa statue de cire sera exceptionnellement inaugurée par Michel Drucker dans l'émission Vivement dimanche, qui sera diffusée à France 2 le 12 février.
