I don't think it's fake. It's the single from Il Divo's Ancora, and there's no photoshoot of Il Divo and Céline together.

We shall never give the hope up. I won't say the next French album will be jazz, but it WILL be definitely something different. Another French album from Céline is not just "another Céline Dion album".

Unto itself, "I Believe in You" is a beautiful song, lush in its orchestral production and celestial in its blend of Dion's towering vocals with the classical-lite musings of Il Divo. But if you are a proponent of the former's career at radio, this release prompts some questions: First, with her career at AC already tentative, is a duet with such a cheesy act really a wise strategy? And second, for an artist who remains youthful and vital on the inside, why is she again involved in a project whose appeal lies with an audience whose birthdays start with 4's and 5's? Il Divo has found success overseas, but in the States, the act amounts to a poor man's Josh Groban. It is time for another "That's the Way It Is," not a song so erudite that even AC radio may turn up its nose. Pretty song, yes, but hardly in Dion's long-term interest.

Best Buy is offering a CD single for I Believe in You beginning January 16th. The single is even in this weekend's ad! They are also offering coupons for Il Divo's album to anyone who purchases the single!!!

 

Not sure if any other retailer is offering it though.

I agree with Chuck Taylor. I reported that 1 station was playing it and it had 11 spins. Well, it's down to 8 spins.

I really like the song but it be played in the USA. Not even AC stations.

In a way, this is Sony's fault. They, over the past few years, have put Celine on the back burner as an "Adult Contemporary" artist forever. It seems that the only thing that ever makes it to radio - especially american radio - is ballads, ballads, ballads. The problem is that most of the "younger generation" of radio nowadays doesnt listen to ballads. Not that ballads are bad music (in Celine's case, they're incredibly good), they're just not popular. Also, Celine continues to duet with relatively unknown (except internationally) artists, who again sing nothing but ballads. Until Sony (Or Celine) breaks this mold, the chart groups and the critics are always gonna pan her this way.

I bet René is as much aware of the status quo as it is Céline. They ain't stupid and see that her songs aren't getting any significant radio play in the US. For whatever cause. That might be another reason fort they will definitely wait with her next english album release. Being in Vegas she can do nothing but flop once again. Her concerts are sold out so I think she can very well wait till 2007 or even later.

 

Nobody misses her in English anyway.

I agree with Chuck too...I love the song, but I just can't see it being played on AC radio in the USA. Although, it might get a few spins on stations like "Lite FM" or those other stations that play easy listening music, but I dunno the staying power of the song.
