What's on your mind right now?

:lmao:

I meant I need to practice (trainieren) everyday and not be on the train (German: Zug) :mdr:

But I must confess, I had to use the translator :sofunny:

:roflmao:

I have a question: why can't I hit enter and I can't use any fonts or sizes or the rich text editor? I have to toggle editing mode so I am able to post. :(

And I have the Spanish corrector I never had before.

Yes, I tried that. I'm gonna ask him because I'm really clueless. Thanks. :)

I'm preparing a Celine-related video which I hope YouTube will not block. :nono:

Hello people, I see you've recently had much fun on here, I'm glad for you. Hope you are all OK. I just heard on the news that there are some (serious) economical problems there in the USA (what do you US forum members say about it, is it really that serious?), hope things get better soon.

Hello Bell. Thanks, I hope you're good as well!

OMG tonight is soooooo hot! Even worse than some summer nights! I wonder when fall is really gonna kick in!

Luis, you can send the heat towards me. It's like 9C here now and it's going to go as low as 3C

Ugh I'm desperate! It's 29ºC on an October night. And I bet you that the weather will change tremendously in the next couple of days giving me more allergies and the flu again.

i surprised myself that I was able to understand and part of what you had written. I should go back and look through my German books. It's been such a long time. Edited by Del

The federal government here partially shut down because our legislature couldn't come to an agreement to keep funding it because there's a contingent of legislators trying to oppose the president's new healthcare law. It's really ridiculous because there was no need for this to happen -- it's just government officials who refuse to come to an agreement for the good of the country. They're keeping "essential" services going . . .public safety stuff, mail services, etc. . but a lot of the government agencies shut down, and aren't providing services. (Basically, the sorts of things that would close in a bad snowstorm are now closed until the legislature comes to an agreement on how to fund it). The same thing happened in 1995-96 for about a month.

The worst part is that there are about 800,000 people who work for the federal government who are now being told to stay home and not come to work -- and who aren't getting paid. I have some friends in this situation, and it's just not right.

It's an interesting time in the States right now..... A president that is trying to take the country in one direction that it's not equiped for. Everything will cycle through eventually.

Thank you for your so detailed reply, it was really interesting for me to read it. You made things clear for me, I appreciate it. Now I think I understand the situation much better. It's bad and I hope those who are responsible will find some way out soon.

You're right, it's interesting, but I do hope the situation will get better soon.

Haha, I wonder if any of the journalists in the media marathon yesterday asked Celine what she thought of the government shutdown instead of about Britney or Miley! But I'm sure she'd just evade the question and say she doesn't talk about politics. Actually, I think it would be really interesting if someone asked Rene those questions. .. .I'm sure he's aware of these issues. But I remember reading . .maybe in the Georges-Hebert Germain biography of Rene -- that his son Patrick had tried to get Rene into politics, but he was only interested in evaluating politicians based on how well they communicate with the people, not on their political stance. .sort of a showbiz perspective, I guess. And there was an interview with Mego where he said he was watching TV with Rene years ago, when Obama was just a junior senator giving a speech . .and Rene said he was going to be the President one day. Rene is a visionary . . .

It's interesting, though. .it was such a huge deal when Celine said "separation would be terrible" or something like that back in 1992 about the question of Quebec separating . .the backlash was so traumatic for her that she never publicly expressed an opinion on the issue again. But why is no one curious about what Rene thinks on that issue? I wonder if he's ever said . . .
