Edwin Posted January 24, 2012 at 07:35 PM Posted January 24, 2012 at 07:35 PM Erm. Im not sure where the HP books came from cause I was talking about Twilight and not liking those movies but never reading the books... I'm thinking Adi may be saying the Twilight books were okay, but she didn't come back to answer. And yes, I am for serious and there really isn't eye candy at my gym. It's not like the QAF gym I think GD was innocent but was stupid of him to not disclose his colleagues were also on the forum...Live and learn.
reamary Posted January 24, 2012 at 08:16 PM Posted January 24, 2012 at 08:16 PM (edited) Popular movies like HP don't usually have a prayer in the other categories besides sound, visual effects, costumes, etc... Hell Christian Bale deserved some love for Batman, but alas no. The Academy is rather predictable. Have to ask, what does alas mean?? It's one of those strange words (a shortage from something I suppose?) that I occasionally keep seeing, but I just can't figure out what it means!! And now I thought I'd ask since I saw it again. It's grobandion's birthday today...Anyone else remember him? I do! dj4celine Posted January 24, 2012 at 08:20 PM Posted January 24, 2012 at 08:20 PM (edited) Haha... I don't even remember how the members of the gym in QAF looked like. I've gotta watch it all over again sometime soon My abdominal muscles are aching like crazy today. Different types of crunches and lots of cardio don't go well with them, I guess! On a side note, are the Tom Ford sunglasses worth the premium over the Ray Bans or is it just co of the name? EDIT: Reamary, Alas is an interjection which shows an exclamation for sorrow or pity or sadness. Edited January 24, 2012 at 08:23 PM by dj4celine
Edwin Posted January 24, 2012 at 08:22 PM Posted January 24, 2012 at 08:22 PM My definition: It's the full word, it adds emphasis to the fact that something is not as it should be. It should be x but alas it's y. You can remove 'alas' and it basically means the same thing. Dictionary definition: One of the meanings: alas -used as an exclamation to express sorrow, grief, pity, concern, or apprehension of evil

celine-rc Posted January 24, 2012 at 08:41 PM Posted January 24, 2012 at 08:41 PM I didn't go to school after all, did math as well as other homework... When I think of it, I could have watched a Céline DVD... Anyway... Will go tomorrow though... I should be able to give her the text tomorrow... Stress!!!!!! Anyway, it was still a pretty good day. Plus, that Monsieur Lazhar by Philippe Falardeau is in nomination for the best movie in a foreign language!!! It's amazing!!!! http://images.lpcdn.ca/435x290/201103/17/305341.jpg Merci Céline pour ces deux soirées inoubliables que j'ai passées à tes côtés. Je ne les oublierais jamais. J't'adore Céline. Merci. <3

Mrs.Goldman Posted January 24, 2012 at 09:11 PM Posted January 24, 2012 at 09:11 PM ^ Agreed - definitely read them (Harry) even if you saw the movies first. I also am shocked that Alan Rickman didn't ever receive a nomination for such a brilliant character! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/CallingYou/shadowoflovesig-1.jpg

But if you don't Take Chances, you'll never know Eddie: What's with the FER in uppercase and then nando in lowercase?? lol. Oh, and thanks for the explanation... Edwin Posted January 24, 2012 at 11:15 PM Posted January 24, 2012 at 11:15 PM Cause I hate calling you Fer sounds so weird. So I make that part stand out but I can still add my nando to it And I dunno why CDFer might sound bad except maybe that person thinks the fer part is short for fukcer?

sfbaysinger Posted January 25, 2012 at 01:17 AM Posted January 25, 2012 at 01:17 AM LOL guys.Yes, Fernando, there is a difference, it's not just in the movies. If half you awesome gay dudes moved to San Francisco, you would never have to worry about any of the s*** anyone has to deal with in the Midwest or the middle of nowhere. LOL. Some parts of the country are more open and some are very...religious for lack of a better word. yes, anyone who hasn't should read both HP books and Twilight.Edwin...what a compliment you thought I was older. How in the world did you stumble on my welocme thread? Since my one-year anniversary is coming up, I'm thinking of making a better one since I did it horribly wrong last year! And excuse me, but all the good men are not straight, they are gay. i have had crushes on two men here who are gay and one seriously broke my heart. :( I totally identify with Ziggy.
