I have a girl I sing with and I'm always the one initiating the singing. We even had a live gig last year and guess what, she canceled. So I can totally relate. I commend you for seeking therapy, as did I. I had to realize I have a life outside this girl. I had given her, in a sense, my voice. She is not though. I am not hers, she is not mine and not responsible for what I do as I am not for her. We've had a little more separation since. I don't chase her either. If she wants to sing, she makes it happen. She's not worth my serenity, sanity and peace of mind. I used to only sing when we did. Now I embrace my instrument and use it passionately. I sing on my own now and am finding the joy of my own experience. So I can totally relate. I do things on my own terms now, no more waiting. I don't need her to make things happen. A month ago, I even did the impossible I said I would never do without her, went on a sing audition...alone. Well years ago when I was at seconday school it was hard for some of us to take our eyes off some of our teachers because they look that good.
