"Eyes On Me" to be second single in UK!

In a recent newspaper article published in Canada, Sony BMG is said to have "Eyes On Me" set to be the second single off "Taking Chances".

And it is a 99% confirmation.

I'm not convinced eyes on me is a good choice. I hope they beef the production up.

 

Personally I would release Fade Away but everyone seems to love ALONE and I kinda think it might work better than EYES ON ME. Which I fear could sink without a trace . hope I am wrong!!

we should support this decision - it could be better but it could be much worse . EOM is better than ALONE and better than TCH which they chose as the first single .

 

what i don't get is how come she is not singing this song during her promotional gig?soon she'll be back in vegas and she won't be able to really promote this song

 

all we hear from the new album is TCH over and over again and ALONE

it's good choice if we are talking about choosing EOM or A because as she promotes Alone so much in TV people know it already and she needs another song! i hope Fade Away will be also a single this album needs many singles!

Great , I love that song. I just hope it will do well on the charts. I can't predict anything anymore, I thought TC will be at the top of the charts but look what happened so, I have no idea if EOM is a good choice or not, guess we'll see but this song screams for some good remixes.

I'm not so sure about this decision. EOM is the kind of song that demands a sexed-up music video and onstage performances. Does anyone really want Celine along this route? The "coolness" that works for others may not work for Celine, I'm afraid. Plus the song starts sounding overbearing after 2 minutes. JMO.

I know what a lot of you are thinking but I'm leaning towards Alone bec. it's being well-received by reviewers and casual listeners. The atmosphere engages you at once and it has no uninteresting moments unlike the first single. Also, it won't alienate the typical Celine fan bec. it has a ballad hint to it.

Anyway, all we can do right now is hope for the best.

EOM is a great song, I've heard many times, and I felt in love lately

 

Meaby the sound it seems Shakira or Beyonce for some people, but is a new song, a new sound and is not a cover, is fresh, so GO ON GIRL!!!!

i find out that Delta Goodrem & Lundin are mentioned on the cd as backing vocals.

 

the song needs a remix. they need to release it soon cause TC is not doing well & new years eve is coming... (it will be played in the clubs ...) the video should be great with a one of a kind idea.

im just thinking imagine a breakdown in the single/video for this were it cuts to a funky insrumental in the middle, and shows celine and her dancers dancing....then goes bak to the main song....that would be amazing and sooo different!!!!

To be honest, EOM is probably the best choice for a second single. The US radio market demands upbeat interesting songs with a different sound to really catch listeners ears. Think Rihanna- Umbrella, J Holliday - Bed etc... US radios are no longer playing slow ballads (especially top 40 pop) and I really believe that EOM will propell Celine back into the TOP 10. It's a totally unique song and if you listen to it more then once it really starts to hook you.

 

Alone is yet another cover which doesnt translate onto TOP 40/POP. I think this is a wise decision and it should keep the momentum of this album moving forward through the hollidays and into February... let's hope they release it soon!

Well do you think that the Alicia's song has not been done before with a similar music? There are many others singers that are kinda similar to others and they are very popular and their careers are full of hits.

Celine has nothing to lose at all.

 

I love another songs from the album more than EOM, but this one is far better than Alone for the second single

Hmm, well, maybe Celine actually doesn't have anything to lose at all. So many have already written her off as a has-been, at least in the recording scene.

Anything is really a gamble at this point and while they're at it, why not release another "edgy" song like FA along with this Bollywood tune? Just to gauge the response on radio. This new album needs a hit REALLY FAST (already, Alicia's new song, It's Not Like... has started making an impression) and sending two songs off TCH to radio would be invaluable in cutting the time needed to find out what is the right thing to do.

Let's not forget that ALL of Celine's big album sellers were anchored on hit singles. FIY or even TAST had modest first-week sales but they became strong later on bec. of the songs I no longer need to specify.
