In Europe the single is at #31.

In Belgium the album is at #6 and the single is at #10.

i know there r alot of numbers and chart positions out there...i even read few articles stating that the album sold 1 million copies already - maybe they r talking about shipments .

here r the REAL numbers : ( as for this day )

in france - 355 000 + -

in canada - 100 000

in belgium - 40 000

rest of the world - 30 000

total - 530 000

however , i dont know if canada includes quebec too?? so it's between 550k -
600k worldwide .

BTW eventho the album was down from 3 to 5 in france last week , it still sold around 20 000 copies and as for now the album sold almost 370 000 copies in france .
after this last week of massive promotion in france i would be suprised if the album wont pass the 500 000 mark very soon in france .

as always with sony - celine has to do everything on her own . they r not releasing anew single officialy and they r not shooting a new video , so the song wont be a hit , not where most of the market is - france and canada .

It's on IFOP's website. And no, it couldn't be the new promotion. This chart was closed on Dec., 24th.

OMG so can u imagine the effect of the sunday special and the symphonic show ohhh and now the platina disc     
i guess this week celine sold more copies due to the holidays...BTW usually next week is very slow each year so it's a bit strange that they r doing their heavy promotion on a week that usually people r not buying alot of music atleast in the u.s. - the last week of each year is always slow

I don't think so. Mary J. Blige will debut with more than 600k next week in USA. One of the highest debut of the year.  

Let's see the impact of the promotion next week in France. I bet ONCP will come back at #1, or at least at #2.

can u give us some numbers? like the best selling albums in france this year or last year? so we'll know how to judge celine's sales over there compare to others

well , it's pretty simple - when u have a hit on the radio stations your album is selling more . when u have a video to support it - it sells even more . sony r not doing any of it

I don't know. I'd say the big sellers in France are Céline, Mylene Farmer and Johnny Halliday, but there are a lot of short-living acts like that horrible Crazy Frog or that little ***t Ilona who are selling quite a lot in a short period of time, which always makes me ask if they are tone-deaf or something ??!!

of course , there are!

Currently, the new album from Johnny Hallyday is doing very well... but the promotion is very very heavy : he is everywhere. In each show, he is there! He disgusts me! Really... he even did the same show in 3 weeks! I think it's exagerated.

But the other french artists who sells more than Céline are : Calogero, Raphael and Chimène Badi. Well, this year... But the french best of from Céline is only available since a few weeks. And it sold almost 400.000 copies. ! Mylène Farmer was a flop (big big flop! ) not even 400.000 copies sold of her last album!    
Moreover there are only few greatest hits which are very successfull in France. Only 3 or 4 sold more than 1.000.000 copies after ... years!
In 2005, except Céline, the most successfull greatest hits was Patrick Bruel : only 200.000 copies.

Well Johnny sold about 440.000 copies so far. And his album was out after Celine's one.

One thing is sure Céline is the best female selling artist ever in France.   .

But we can't compare with other artists such Hallyday or even Sardou or Goldman: they have been singing since the 60's.. of course they have sold more than Céline.
But if we take into account only the years from  the 90's .. Céline is the best selling artist in France for sure.
