Well well well ... I wanted to also give my feedback and two days after the release of the video I still have mix feelings.

First of all, what a surprise and what a PLEASURE to hear Céline and this pleasure is still on, so satisfying to see her happy. BUT I am not as much enthusiastic as many of you regarding her ability of singing.

We love Celine, most of us have "known" Celine all their life so we kind of accept everything that come from her, especially because we know about the disease. But honestly.... would this video have been produced by an anonymous singer, would we fall in love ? I don't think so.

I listen to the song several times. For sure Celine has done a lot of progress and maybe she has worked tougher than we can even imagine to get this result. But is it enough for releasing a quality album ?????. I sometimes make a parallel with my daughter who is disabled and learn pastry to become pastry chef professionally. She works maybe 3 times harder than the others and honestly regarding her disabilities she is doing a great job and improve constantly but at the end of the day, is the quality/ presentation up enough to be sold ? No. Celine seems to do better actually but to me it is enough to make a real comeback soon.

Last point, and I am surprised no one mentioned it in the previous posts I read is the way she looks. She recorded a video for a tribute, just for that she could have dressed up and have her hair done instead of this bun she carries now all the times ( just like women who don't give a F ) . And don't say it's about her disease. She was classy when she went out for Coldplay concert so she could have done an effort for this tribute.
I really don't understand. It's not about turning into fashion queen like she did previous covid period Posted Image Posted Image  but respect yourself and the others. When she took part to "the payer" during the lockdown period, she also sung from her home, but she was dressed up. So I don't understand why she present herself like this when she works.

To remind and quote Karl Lagerfeld  Posted Image  " Sweatpants are a sign of defeat. You lost control of your life so you bought some sweatpants"

I’ve been at times a huge critic of the artistry of the past etc.

Having said that, I respectfully disagree and think you’re wrong.
This is the same lady who showed up a hockey game in sweats, always has her hair in bun whether at McDonalds or the Met Gala.

I really believe she has improved, now enough to what degree is the question. Bottom line is Celine to me has never really been a fashion genius on her own, she is one of those artists who definitely needs a stylist. She clearly needs someone to even do a bun with her hair.

With the exception of the Grammys fully glammed up by pros,  when has Celine looked like a diva since 2020?

As always with Celine she classily made sure the focus wasn’t on her but on Serge Fiori, the very person she showed up to pay tribute to. If you’re focussing on her hair or what she’s wearing then you’re, respectfully, missing the point.

I thought It was a beautiful performance!

As I said during the release of her doc, I didn't think she would go and launch a tour right away. I think it was a reflection of just her, getting comfortable with the reality of her new life without really taking into account her career and her singing.

I think this definitely represents her singing live again in the future, for sure on a more smaller, intimate scale but honestly, I could take a lot more of the "no frills, behind the scenes, process" Céline than "Stage Céline." Having fun and singing things that mean something to her always highlight her vocal mastery.

At the very least, an album or two would be great, but I see that only happening in a year or two at the minimum.

I guess for the clothing. She wanted to be comfortable like she did for Love Again session. It’s like giving focus on my singing rather than my look.

Songs like this are over her last 2 french albums. Sung that way (or even worse). And they were edited. (Not to mention all the lullabies she sang these last 20 years)
Nobody questioned her ability to do an album or live shows back then.

Ah, people. Posted Image

I do even wonder if people know the original song before writing any comment.

Yes… I guess Grammys was law too. My point was, she doesn’t look diva-ish if she’s not styled by someone… hair and makeup. You can clearly tell that when she doesn’t hire someone she prefers to be as comfortable as possible… And this didn’t just start happening since her SPS diagnosis Celine has kind of always been that way, but before she was younger, therefore needed less make up. I say she’s human who cares.

Some people here are coming up with crazy conclusion that because she’s not done up the hair and makeup that signifies that she isn’t doing well enough to return, she may or not be… however, her lack of hair and wardrobe to me means nothing.

Before Vegas, Celine did her own tour makeup and her sister helped with her hair. Celine also has the knowledge of the fashion houses, studies the collections and has the last say on what she wants to wear. She’s very fashion forward and has the head for clothing. She knows her body well and what does and doesn’t look good on her. The story about the dress for the 1997 Oscars comes to mind…

My personal opinion… is Celine never looked great when styling herself. She does her own makeup well enough.

Celine to me has a very sporty/ masculine sense of style when she’s not “on”… either in the studio or stage etc.

She’s also not a great picker of outfits for stage either… the original “A New Day” outfit/ suspenders comes to mind…

I thought the A New Day outfits before the big change in late 2006 when Annie Horth entered is because of the theme of the theatrical show. It's like giving the "O" themed show. That's the type of outfit Franco Dragone's shows use that's why Celine's outfit is like that to match the dancers as well.

The 2007 show was revamped with the more style of Celine.

But, I will still hire Annie Horth and Law. With Annie, I really love her choices of gowns with Celine. It really fits her body figure so well. She really knows Celine's figure.

I mean, most celebrities when you just see them in the streets on their off time are in sweats or jeans or baggy shirts. I would be too if I worked a job where I was never able to wear something comfortable.

The first round of costuming for “A New Day…” as mentioned above, was supposed to be themed along the lines of a Cirque inspired show. I didn’t particularly care for the suspenders outfit either, but it was nicely tailored and fit for the segment of the show. We have all commented ad nauseam about her hair, so I’m not even going to get into that again. After the direction of the show changed, I still thought most of the costumes were amazing. Then the second residency, I can’t remember a fashion miss at all from 2011-2019.

The TCWT, she chose stunningly. Every gown for MHWGO was exquisite. I loved both the matador inspired outfit and the black and white with the cape for EOM.

Her promo appearances, I think there are more hits than misses. Especially post 2000.

This is the first live song since.. many years and people are freaking out for her looks? Really? Didnt you all remember the struggle recording Love again? Her sadness because she couldn't sing anymore?

She didn't have to record a video. She could have stick with a facebook RIP post. But yet she did it and she did it with joy! And her voice is incredible! I cant stop listening to it and i get tears in my eyes everytime! Thats a huge step for her! Her voice is.. i mean its day and night from the love again recording.

But the short blonde hair back in early 2000’s is really her choice. But the 2003 short-short hair really looks good on her with some great styling. It got bad when it grew around neck area. They didn’t know how to style it. And I guess she retained the blonde color for a year is because she said that it’s one of the most expensive hair color she did that time. So, yeah

How do we know TCWT dresses were chosen by Celine? I always assumed it was Annie who chose them, as well as created that beautiful "big hair" hairstyle that Celine wore in 2008-2009.

You don't have to be an expert in style to wear a simple white blouse and to do your hair properly. Regarding her humility ( I don't want to steal the show) her performance was the ultimate point, at the very end of the show, like the high point of this tribute. Celine is not stupid, she knows her apparition would make a big wouah. And it was a big wouah !!! Disease did not turn Celine into stupid. She is a professional.

Annie brought Celine an array of clothing to choose from. Celine ultimately made the decision of what was going to be worn. You can see in both TTEOTW and 3 Boys and a New Show.

Serge Fiory was not a guy was  caring too much about his " style " . It would not have been appropriate to dress haute couture with a Farah Fawcett brushing and 2 inches of make up.

I agree with you. Even jeans and a blouse could’ve sufficed. Me personally, I found nothing wrong with what she wore or how she looked. I’m just glad to see her singing in any way again. However, playing to the people who do have problems with it…. I can almost hear their opinions also, she could’ve had on jeans and shirt with a tad of makeup etc… she chose not to… instead we saw her as causal as possible even with gray hair and glasses. I think that’s rare for Celine… and people aren’t used to it… as Dave Patel said LOL.

I think we all have to understand that in whatever way Celine does return that we are in uncharted waters… we don’t know what to expect. Last we saw Celine regularly it was before a worldwide pandemic and she was doing fashion shows in the streets of Paris and doing high scale shows flaunting couture…

I think people need to accept that might not be the reality any longer… she’s also pushing 60 years old and her style will have changed I think it’s coming off a shock to some people because had Celine been active we would’ve saw the evolution happen slowly and instead she completely disappeared and re-emerged years later with a chronic illness, years older and a new place in her life.
