It's true that her team SHOULD do something.
I mean, in 2020's autumn, Mariah Carey released a compilation of early unreleased songs and demos for the fans, a 1996 concert on dvd, she did a christmas tv special paired with soundtrack...

Releasing old material doesn't even require celine's commitment, if she just want to be home with her family. Which is her right, she does whatever she wants. Her team, however, is supposed to be doing that for her.
What does she pay them for, exactly? yeah, right: posting pictures on instagram of her hugging trees or whatever...

So Madonna can release a blu-ray of the Madame X tour but Celine can’t?!

Artists here in Quebec are releasing dvds and they dont sell like Celine.

Its not a money problem. Its because she don’t have a manager and her team dont care and dont want to put energy for a dvd. Easy money with the concerts is enough for them.

I really think René was pushing a lot for dvds because he said many times a artist cant forget the fans that cant go to the concerts.

And in my opinion, when you’re making 100 millions profits from a tour, you HAVE to pay a little to keep releasing stuffs for the fans.

You whole speech it's the prove of what I'm saying. You think you own the facts, only you point of view it's right and all you have to do is put your view on a "visual representation" to make a valid argument.

Then you expect everyone around social midia to just get on board to your point of view, despite the fact the they might think there's better way to do it, or get the hell out, as you and a lot of this so call "say yes team" have done repeatedly with everyone in this forum (including ones who were particularly respectful with your moviment).

Again, you won't get the support you needed to make this happen if you are refusing to take people's opinions in account.

Voicing concerns and doubts is fine, we all have them, but I haven't actually seen any suggestions for the campaign from the "naysayers"

So if we take in the opinions of those saying this isn't going to work where does that leave us? That type of opinion is essentially telling us to give up. Why? We know it's not as simple as one petition or that Sony will say yes immediately. We're trying to make the campaign not be a one trick pony and are planning several things for the future.

Someone said the petition wouldn't get more than 200 signatures but luckily that opinion was wrong. We've gotten 300 in a little under 3 days. Hopefully it keeps going up.

Anyway, if you don't think this is going to work that's fine but if you're gonna share that opinion at least give us your ideas that could potentially better the chances cause otherwise what is the point? Just gives us something to work with.


And to reiterate what I think has been said several times but also ignored, we are asking for official release of a show in any format they want to release it, not just DVD. The thread was opened as a new DVD topic but we then concluded early on to call it a video-release campaign. Imo a release for streaming (Netflix/disney+/etc) would be most likely. Although, I love collecting physical copies of cd's & movies I like. And we know Celine has a large portion of fans that prefer the physical releases. One final thought, DVD/blu-rays may not sell as much as before but I doubt they'll ever go away just as Vynils didn't completely die out.
Physical copies, be it music/films/concerts/books, will never die out. There will always be a market for it.

I don't what to tell you, friend. I just gave you 2 facts that our hope for a DVD/Blu-Ray/CD release is not unreasonable, and you came at me with a personal attack about how we as a team are making our decisions?

I think you're seriously underestimating how much we as a team are communicating with each other on a daily basis to assess the pros/cons of our strategy and how to move forward. Despite what you're implying, this is not all about me and what I want personally. Part of running a campaign involves all active team members taking the public's opinions and deciding if they're helpful to the cause or not. Each opinion is discussed (at great length) amongst us, as a team, who are all working together to get something done--not working against each other. If you suspect someone is being narrow-minded, then maybe you should take a look in the mirror.

Exactly the point. Some fans apparently like that, but many do not. Either way, Céline is a world class performer and there's no excuse in the book to argue that she deserves less than the best. If lesser known artists are putting out physical format releases, then by sheer popularity she should be outselling all of them.. but that's not possible if there are no new releases!

I totally agree with you. The quality of an official release it’s way better than a YouTube video made by anyone, specially because those unofficial videos are frequently deleted because of copyright reasons.

And there’s where you and I are different. I can totally watch the YouTube videos and be perfectly happy with them. I feel like sometimes it’s your side that doesn’t understand this. Like you’re trying to FORCE us to want a DVD or a streaming video for purchase when we don’t. The Taking Chances concert release was so awful with all the re-recording of her lipped vocals  - worse than some of the fan videos

Oh let me be clear, I am not forcing anyone to want a DVD or to stream official content.  To each their own.  I stated my opinion just like you stated yours, that is all. It's ok to have different opinions as it doesn't bother me.

I think sometimes us fans over analyze her releases and look for flaws.  I happen to enjoy the Taking Chances concert and take it for what it is, a concert DVD that I can enjoy when I want to watch my favourite singer.

To be fair, I prefer unaltered bad audio with fan-made youtube videos than an over sound editing audio track rendering her voice unreal, without any sound coming from the audience, like they just play a playback over everything else, missing totally the point of being a live audience recording (hello, TCWT DVD!).
Or the UN-BEA-RA-BLE fake reverb on the official LMBTL vevo video - the unofficial one was much better, even with that false note right before the money note. It was raw, authentic, engaging, daring, and I was totally hooked.

Maybe you should write a letter to RENE CHARLES?  maybe he can tell mom how the fans want to see one of the concerts.

I just don't understand how to shoot so many materials and then put it on the shelf to gather dust.  Or give copies to a select few for some unknown reason

Be positive and productive.  After all there's nothing wrong with trying and nothing will lose. Keep that goin' and keep the faith within us. It would never hurt to just sign the petition. It's just 5 minutes of work. And it will help the ones who really really want it to happen.

And in the end when we get something released we all know you still gonna buy/watch it anyway so...

This. I would love a Netflix release of Celine. Imagine the wider audience it could reach, and set up opportunities for more in the future. Bands like Queen show success in recent times, Celine of course can as well.

By definition, none of this will be “new” material, but it will be newly seen, newly edited, in great quality, and with a new wider audience (if it went to Netflix for example).

The petition was posted some comments back. The video description explains what the campaign is, and they posted the link to the petition in the comments since youtube doesn't allow links in video descriptions.

Just as further FYI this fan (as other fans have done on IG) decided to help out and made their own video.

Agreed. Nowhere in the video does it say what this video is about. It needs to have the final scene show exactly what the petition is all about, and/or have the request sprinkled throughout the video. It's a good start, but it's not clear cut enough. The editing is nice, though. I agree with that.
