As if she has to spend hours signing autographs and taking selfies with her fans? She doesn't make money from it, she just does it.

I've said it so many times: Céline is clearly a 'people person'. If there's no 'in person' contact, there's just no fun in it for her. She's said many times that the audience reaction is what makes it all worth it for her.

Tell me, do you do things for wotk that you dislike if you don't really have to?
I think her team of 2016 should be back completely.

I think Rene was always the “people person”, that’s why she does the autographs and stuff still to this day when In the situation. Celine made it super clear that Rene loved the business and the fans, and though be it harsh I think as her manager he loved the fans more than she did prehaps not to say she isn’t thankful that’s clear she is, but without Rene the extra thought for the fans is no longer there, even Aldo did this well… Celine comes off as an artist who needs to be pushed to do things.
I always remember the scene for the LV dvd in the car when they are on their way to Caesars for the show, and Celine is tired and Rene says,” soon we’ll have a month off”, and Celine says “Oh a month off, just the studio, photoshoot, video shoot , the Oscars…” I think anything other then live performances for Celine for awhile now hasn’t been fun. I think Rene was the middleman that brought the artist of Celine closer to the fan I also remember her not being to keen on the idea of walking the audience in Vegas during the duet with herself and Rene cracked the joke just sign some autographs if you get bored.

She thought it was 'pretentious' to sing a duet with herself, it wasn't so much walking the audience that was the problem (even though that really wasn't the best idea... it was bound to get out of hand).

And no, the signing of autographs isn't all René. It's the thing she's kept doing until right before the pandemic hit (even when she stopped doing a lot of other things like M&G), so I'm assuming it's somethings that she likes doing every once and again.

The 'mosh pit' is another thing I'm willing to bet is her own idea. It's something that clearly energizes her and it's just amazing for fans as well.

I'm not saying I wouldn't like a new manager who picks up the slack and reintroduces some structure into her non-performing activities, because I really would. But I'm not convinced it's what she wants. I feel like Céline the artist may have retired, even if the performer has not. And there’s really no use for me to whine about it, because it's her choice and she has 100% earned it.

For me, Celine totally lost touch with her loyal core fanbase and is nowadays solely focused on the general public and ticket sales. It makes me sad, because I know that when Rene was her manager, he always made sure that fans who cannot attend her shows will also be satisfied in some way, be it through a personal video message to fans or through DVD releases. She is clearly showing her true fans that she is not interested in them in any way. Only the big business matters. Sorry, but that is the reality.

Remember when they released OH in 2003 as a gift to all the fans who cannot come to Vegas? Then one year after a live CD of the show was released in 2004. Now she doesn't give a damn about anything. She stores tons of concert and recording footage in the archives and is greedy with it like never before. I wish she could read this and really take this into consideration. I think that I speak on behalf of many fans when I say that I am deeply disappointed recently.

One Heart wasn’t released as a gift to the fans. They needed sponsorship money for the Vegas show. Chrysler gave them money and someone decided that Celine covering IDAN would work great paired with a car company. At the time, in order to release a single, you needed an album attached to it. So they used leftovers from ANDHC, repeats from ANDHC, and IDAN. It wasn’t for the fans; it was for the money, sadly.

And releasing the Live Vegas CD was because Vegas still wasn’t the hit place to be in 2004, one year into the show. They released the CD to sell the Vegas show, excite people, and make them want to come see it. It was Vegas promotion.

She also had another corporate partnership with the song You and I and the Canadian airline and they needed an album on which to put it. Killed two birds with one stone.

Celine released "Wicked Game" out of nowhere. Seems like the artist didn't go anywhere then, that was February 2020. I speculate she just released that because she's always loved the song and wanted to record it, similar to how there were other songs like "You're The Voice" that she always loved and always wanted to perform.

She released that because that’s what Spotify does. They ask an artist to release a different version of the current song (the acoustic Imperfections) and a cover song to go along with it as a B-side.

Things like that just weren’t done in the life before social media/streaming services.

Obviously streaming services have enabled faster delivery of music, including one off singles, you're right. One example is "Recovering". But there have long been ways to reach your fans in a quicker time than a full studio album--such as Extended Plays (EPs).

And I'm aware of the Spotify practice. My point is that even though I think Celine is and has been very disconnected from fans, I disagree that means her artistry is gone. Celine has delivered goodies to fans on occasion, another example is her FB Live recording of "Winter Song" for Christmas a few years back and her recorded audio and video of "My Love", the Sia cover which she put on her Youtube.

All of those examples you gave with the exception of the Spotify singles, we’re done when Aldo was the manager, Coincidence….. I don’t think so.

Celine has said that her favorite aspect is live performance and it's because of the presence of fans, because she sees the reaction immediately. Rene was better at caring for the fans not seen imo. I don't think Celine has that vision, I would love to be wrong. But I wouldn't go as far as saying she doesn't care about fans or that she isn't a people person (she's an extrovert after all).

That’s what I mean, if those things she had the passion to do them they wouldn’t feel like work… it’s a hobby or at least should be by now… she doesn’t need the money anymore and hasn’t for decades.

About the topic of fan interaction, Mariah just did this Twitter Space with her fans (albeit they were through an organised group I believe i.e Mariah Carey Australia?)

Not necessarily. I work all day on a computer and one of my favorite hobbies is done on the computer but when I'm tired I don't even want to look at my pc. Not even for my favorite Hobbie.

Wanting a break doesn't mean she doesn't like recording. That she enjoys performing live more than recording in a studio is different. But even then she values time off because as she's said, singing is a passion but it's not her life.

The other pov is that the sarcasm could've been about calling that month as "time off" just because she wasn't going to be performing live when in actuality it wasn't time off.

If she didn't like recording she would stop because as you say she doesn't need to do it. And it's not like she's making the same amount of money from new albums like before.

There was an interview with Sonia Benezra in 2016 when Rene passed that was in French. My French is not good at all, so I could be totally wrong, but I thought she said that Celine performed for Rene and if it was up to her she probably would have stopped by now. Could be wrong like I said, that's one of the interviews I hope we can get translated one day

But I don't think she would really stop if it was (maybe it is) up to her. She said her career is his legacy and letting it unfinsihed by just stoping now would make her feel terrible, so she continues to honor him. (And folks noone can deny that she still loves it very much and continues also fir herself and the fans ;))

Just reporting what she said---or, well, my attempted understanding, since I don't speak French. I'll try and find the interview again and post here to verify.

I think Celine could deliver much better live vocals for this song. It will be interesting to see if it ends up being in her Vegas show.

ahaha same here ! Well the pronunciation is still what it is, but what he/she did with the vocals and production makes it easier to listen to.
Wow 15 years old !!! Congratulations for his/her work    ! Celine should really hire fans in her team, they often do better work (music production, remixes, graphics, promotion...) than the official/actual team...
Hope @celinedestiny will do something for "The Show Must Go On" studio version :-D :-D :-D

Diane Warren is getting ready to release her debut album. Warren won't sing on it, but the album includes new songs written and performed by artists she has worked with in the past, and Céline is one of the artists featured on the album.

Quote: While Warren still won’t be singing her own songs, the best part of this new album is that it will feature some of the biggest vocalists of our generation. Diane Warren: The Cave Sessions Vol. 1 will feature the vocal stylings of *checks notes* John Legend, Céline Dion, Mary J. Blige, Jason Derulo, Ty Dolla $ign, Darius Rucker, Jhené Aiko and LP.

I recently downloaded the song and I think it’s a very nice song
