Media started writing about this movie based on what Deadline posted. So they just write whatever because they don't know any more than we do. :D
The film producers are happy that people hear about the project though even if most of the articles aren't accurate. As time goes by, more details will emerge - just like it happened with Aline.

You're right.
But why Judy Dench was crowned with this role of all things is a mystery to me. Somehow symptomatic for the whole film: strangely overrated.
But if Celine Dion plays even half as well as Judy Dench, she has all my respect. Okay, pure rhetoric - because she has had my respect since the spring of 1989...

I do like her acting in the mini-series Des Fleurs Sur La Neige...
I think it's pretty good... And now she is more mature, has more experience... If she works with a acting coach I think she'll be amazing in the film.

Although, I thought this kind of thing never happened in general. Actors aren't allowed to post from movie sets and stuff underway due to their contracts? Or am I totally wrong? I don't follow many actors though

So just caught up with today’s Saturday Kitchen Live here in the UK and stand up comedian/actor Omid Djalili was on and mentioned how he’s filming a movie Text For You with the wonderful Priyanka Chopra Jonas and then proceeded to say Celine Dion is in it.  He said he’s read the script and that Celine’s part is a wonderful part, he apparently said upon reading the script, “that’s a wonderful part but who’s going to play Celine Dion?” and was told Celine herself is doing it!

Maybe it will be something to look forward to after all!!

It's sinking in that Celine will finally be acting in a movie... and in a substantial way.
While we all want Celine to have her Oscar-worthy performance someday, I actually think it's great that this is a feel-good movie -- and I'm happy that the plot celebrates Celine Dion as an artist / singer.
I think this will be an excellent way to get her casual fans invested in her again. (All of those Oprah watchers will eat this movie up!)
Perfect for Celine's legacy.
And, who knows, maybe Celine will get another Oscar nominated song!
Or, at least, another well-known brand new English song.
