Doesn’t look like Céline is doing anything anymore. I’m frightened to say but I think we may have seen the last of her performing live. Hope I’m wrong.

But if they do announce something for 2026 I think it does.

What gives me caution is the fact that with SPS it seems the good days need to be taken advantage of when they are there, I would think if she’s capable of doing shows she would be doing them or at least announced by now. I’m really trying to be positive but it seems bleak. We can’t blame her for going out and enjoying life on her good days, I truly wonder if that’s all we are seeing. Part of me believes that’s what’s she’s doing, it’s no longer a covid lockdown or people guessing what’s wrong with her health, she may just be at the point where she’s made peace that performance for her is out but she’s not going to just “sit on her couch” and pity herself. If she’s having a good day/days and Paul McCartney or Coldplay are playing Vegas she’s going to go out and enjoy their shows. I
I hope I’m wrong but the silence is deafening once again.

What I’m saying is that I’ve met international artists like Céline — not just by attending signings or concerts, but through friendship and even being invited to their homes — and many of them are indeed very open. In several of those cases, the open image they project to the public turns out to be genuine. So it’s quite likely that, in Céline’s case, she truly wants to come across as an open book.
If she didn’t really want to be open and preferred to stick to general facts, then why did she allow I Am: Céline Dion to show her having seizures and thank Irene for not turning off the camera when she was taken to the hospital? Why did she mention that after René passed away, she enrolled her kids in free sports classes? Why did she share that she gave her son René a barbecue after his father’s death and buys him cuts of meat so they can cook and eat together as a family? Why did she talk in detail about how she became pregnant, even giving medical information?
Everyone is free to have their own opinion, but I assure you that, with a bit of psychological analysis based on her experience with bullying, it’s very likely that she really is the way she appears to be.

A year on from the premiere in NYC where she said vegas was happening and in the Hoda interview where she hoped we would come back and see her again after the long absence, not to mention her New Year’s Eve message which also appeared to be positive.
I get it, things can change life is unpredictable, she has a rare condition… but a year and a half on… an interview or video message with an update isn’t asking a lot!
I’m finding the silence rude at this point.
What are her team doing??
For an “open book” we deserve this at this point whether the update is good, bad or indifferent.

Don’t worry when a new T-shirt becomes available they’ll speak to us. Nothing but dollar signs to them.

I’m completely sure Céline is going to come back, but there’s something behind the scenes that’s preventing her from releasing anything new—something we have no idea about. I don’t think it’s her SPSS, but rather legal issues. If everything had been resolved and all the legal matters were fine, she would have released a compilation album from her vault. But if they don’t release it and don’t say anything, from a marketing perspective it’s understood that they don’t want newspapers to report that Céline is returning to music just to present an album that would contain seven or eight old demos, which wouldn’t be bought by the general public. This would significantly lower Céline’s sales, and people would say… that Céline’s sales are low and that almost nobody remembers her. It’s also a way to protect her public image.

In short: If they were certain she wasn’t coming back, they would have released the album already. But if they know—or at least believe—that Céline will return, it doesn’t make sense to use headlines for an album of old demos. With her level of fame, such a release would get worldwide attention, but it wouldn’t generate meaningful engagement.
From a marketing standpoint, Céline is in a prime position right now—perfect for expanding into markets like the Spanish-speaking audience by announcing her comeback. It’s almost guaranteed that, for economic reasons, they wouldn’t put out demos if a true return is planned. Old demos don’t excite fans, but fresh, new material does.
Wasting the opportunity for global buzz with something minor would be counterproductive. The long wait and lack of updates make sense when seen through the lens of marketing strategy and economics. One possible reason for the delay could be to let her presence fade slightly in people’s minds, while keeping her just enough in view—through Charlotte’s campaign, for example—so she’s not forgotten entirely.
When her new music is finally announced, the impact will be massive: worldwide coverage, excitement, and a strong narrative of a “grand return.” This is a classic marketing strategy, especially in the social media era.

I saw the Berghain video by Rosalia this week. It's so amazing. The mix between Opera/Classic Music and Pop music.
And the lyrics in German, English and Spanish. WOW
I know she is a Sony artist. Was she known in Spain before the song?

Hello! Yes, indeed, I’m from Spain! I’ve lived here my whole life! Yes, Rosalía is veeeery famous here. In Spain, she has the same effect as Céline, for example, in Las Vegas. She’s huge. She’s constantly in the news whenever she releases a new album or single. I don’t know if you’re familiar with her discography, but her song “Despechá” went extremely, and I mean extremely, viral in Spain. Even before it officially came out, the version she performed live was leaked. Almost every TikTok you scrolled through on the For You page had that song. You’d go to a café to have, say, a smoothie, and on other people’s phones, you’d hear her song playing. She’s been that well-known since the song “Malamente.”
In Spain, flamenco is highly admired, and that song set trends by blending the classical flamenco for which Spain is known and offers to tourists, with reggae. It was a way of updating our cultural traditions. Summer fairs are very traditional in Spain. These fairs are usually organized by people who constantly travel and are hired in different towns and cities. They bring mobile attractions with very loud music. Rosalía’s “Malamente” was constantly playing when it came out. Teenage girls even started imitating her nails.
Spanish people really value closeness with musical artists. That’s one of the reasons Rosalía has become so successful; she’s very well-known here for that. With the best friend of one of my friends, Rosalía got in personal contact via direct messages and audio messages to express that she was a fan of my friend’s best friend (who also has a style similar to Rosalía’s). She gave him many compliments, and to this day, they are friends.
The passion for Rosalía is such that, even though people don’t usually listen to classical-style music like Lux by Rosalía, they have listened to it a lot since it came out. Some Spaniards have expressed disappointment because they were expecting music more like Motomami. The album hasn’t been free of controversy, as local record stores (especially in the northern region of Spain) have complained in local newspapers that Sony apparently only gave them 3 copies of the CD and, I think, 5 copies of the vinyl each time. They criticized Sony Music for the situation, and Sony responded that it’s a marketing strategy, aiming to allocate more copies to large stores like FNAC or El Corte Inglés (huge department stores that exist in every major Spanish city, offering everything from gourmet food and high-end clothing to technology and music).
Sony does not plan to restock more copies in local stores, and this has been criticized by local merchants.
The same effect I mentioned also happened with Aitana, a singer who came from the TV singing show Operación Triunfo, but not with Lola Indigo (a former contestant from the same show). There are moments when things go to extremes—this happened a few years ago and still continues today, though much less. Teenage girls tried to be like her, dressing like her, cutting their hair the same way, and even imitating her personality.
Alaska y los Pegamoides (I don’t know if you’ve heard of them) were known for their very fast songs—some lasting only a minute or even seconds in the 1980s. The band was formed by Alaska, Nacho Canut, Carlos Berlanga (son of the Spanish filmmaker Luis Berlanga), Eduardo Benavente, and Ana Curra. They were one of the main driving forces of La Movida Madrileña. La Movida was a cultural movement in which teenage boys’ bands of that era became truly like Céline—superstars. People were crazy about them. They would go to nightclub concerts, etc., and even became close friends with some fans.
Later, Alaska formed Alaska y Dinarama, which is now known as Fangoria. There were name changes due to traffic accidents, which reduced the group after the death of Eduardo Benavente, or conflicts with Carlos Berlanga. After that era, they were not very well-known. Today, they are known, but much less so. It’s a curious phenomenon. Rosalía and Aitana continue to enjoy enormous fame, while Alaska y los Pegamoides had their moment but did not maintain it over time.
