No one knows how long it will take for her to do this as it has literally never been done before. What she is trying to do is the musical equivalent of walking on the moon.

So, I don't think there is or ever had been a concrete plan for a full return. There is an ongoing process that will either result in her being able to perform a full concert or not.

No, you’re wrong… Celine clearly stated in an interview that “ we are putting together a show” you don’t put together a show 3-5 years in advance. The plan was clearly to return by now…  Now the reason for the delay/ain’t no longer happening is the question. But I have no doubt the Paris Olympics was a start of a comeback that was never realized.

Resorts World Theatre going dark; Celine Dion’s status unclear


Sorry, but I don't think that she will come back in the Resorts World.  The question is: will she ever come back? Maybe it's a contract thing or a health thing (SPS) or both. We don't know.
I wish she would tell something. Will we get a Christmas message this year?

I just don't think she meant "a show is currently planned," she just meant that she is working on it. That can mean a lot of things. I just get the sense that everything is on standby, they probably have a plan for how they'd want a show to go (and it would be a logistics challenge because of SPS issues) but there was never a firm plan to return by X date.

Yeah, and in this case any potential show is infinitely more complex. She terminated a tour contract without penalty via a total disability clause. Many ppl here interpreted her return to the stage in Paris and comments surrounding the docu premiere as evidence of some confirmed plan. I think it was more or a chess move. Proof of concept. Someone is probably telling her no and honestly has good reason to. If something is being planned, Paris was the beginning of the negotiation, not the end.

Considering everything stacked against her, if she does return to the stage it will be a monumental achievement credited solely to her stubbornness and, dare I say at this point, near-insanity. I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt on faith alone, so I will continue to wait.

If Celine’s only way back is behind a “sound proof box” or “glass bubble” with “no applause”… then she’s better off staying home. The reason an artist like Céline does live show is almost exclusively for the applause. Without the love from the audience why’s the point? She could just record in a studio and deliver it to us to listen to.

I agree. I can't even imagine how she gets to the point where she can guarantee to a promoter / venue that being onstage for even 45 minutes is not a huge risk. We've seen her at concerts and sporting events with some kind of in ear headphones or noise canceling plugs. She was on stage in Paris for less than 5 minutes away from the crowd. Obviously to do a show she needs an in ear monitor, so it's possible that there is something she can wear that will allow her to hear herself and the musicians, but she needs to be upfront with the audience. I don't know how you test that. Do they try to replicate the volume of a full house applauding while she is rehearsing? It just seems unfathomable to me.

Don’t forget that she has been performing with SPS since 2008 constantly, which means all the time. Only during the pandemic she started to search for answers. If it hasn’t significantly worsened, then there is no reason to think she will not return to the stage.

But it has significantly worsened and that's the nature of the disease, it's a terminal condition that causes progressive deterioration. It's a negative feedback loop. You can slow the progression and prolong the interval between episodes but you can't reverse it.

It's probably like schizophrenia, the more episodes you have the worse the next one is going to be, a successful treatment outcome just buys you time until the next one.

Finally a bit of reality. I personally never read her “we re putting a show together” literally. Her condition has worsen and I can t see her doing shows.
Still I think she can still be a studio artist. She gave everything to the stage keeping her away from doing good music I mean maybe it will finally generate something artistically

Celine may go more for pre-recorded singing segments in a safe place and conditions for her and if her situation will allow her, there and here she will give short live performances. I can't see her on an ongoing new Tour. Remember her situation from the movie. Imagine what it is for Celine to go performing live without knowing if she will make it or not.

With that said, we don't know anything. It's very much a "Schrodinger's cat," situation, considering how little information has been disclosed, at all, about anything, the best we can say is that she is currently putting a new show together and is simultaneously not putting a show together. There would be immense challenges associated with undoing a show, it's likely that she will get worse, but then it is also possible that she's figured out a way to stall the deterioration indefinitely through whatever unprecedented combination of therapies she's tried. We haven't seen much of her recently. It could mean anything. Who knows.

Yeah it's all just thoroughly depressing to be quite honest.  More and more fans are drifting away as the days, months and years go by. And, honestly, who can blame them.

99.9% of fans (if not 100%) are fans because of Celine's voice and her music. I doubt anyone became a fan because of her involvement in advertising make up, because she was in a movie or because she promoted some weirdly designed T-shirts.

It has now been 9 years since Celine's last French album, 6 years since her last English album, we're approaching 3 years since Love Again (which we know was filmed 4-5 years ago), and of course last year we had the I Am Celine Dion documentary / Olympics / random Saudi performance.   Celine herself said she will be back. "Oh I will sing again."  The health situation is clearly her priority but if she / the team don't keep fans engaged she's going to find that more and more people will just drift away and they may never come back.

I absolutely refuse to believe that Sony / TeamCeline / Celine herself don't have ANYTHING that they could release to keep fans of her music and voice engaged whilst she continues to focus on her health. And I'm not talking about unreleased photos from in the studio. No-one is asking for freebies, I'd of course be willing to buy whatever they choose to release. How is it that I can see almost ANY artist releasing box sets, rarities, alternate versions, vinyls, you name it but with Celine we get............nothing.

And when we do finally get something (I Am Celine Dion soundtrack being the latest example) it's ALWAYS the same songs recycled for the 15th time.

If Celine truly is at the stage where she can't (or won't) continue her career, that's a choice we need to respect. But how about someone, anyone, at the damn record label / team shows some passion, interest and ownership of her catalogue, legacy and career. EVERY other artist can seem to manage it.

Definitely, we have to call Sony Music to ask about Céline, arguing that we are the largest forum about Céline. Not as a singer anymore, but out of concern for her as a person.

Which is the same place we were more or less in the last quarter of 2024. Without any idea where we're at with the possible, if improbable, Celine comeback.

I will say this

Resorts world has absolutely nothing on their schedule except for Riley Green for two dates in December. There has been nothing announced for the new year and the schedule has been empty since I believe October or September when Janet Jackson was last year other than a couple of little offs, I don’t wanna jinx anything, but I do feel like if Celine is returning This could potentially be the time because I do believe that by now there would’ve been more residence announced because that is a very expensive custom Bill theatre that had Katy Perry and three other artists such as Carrie Underwood using the schedule in Celine was supposed to be there so the fact that nothing has been announced yet gives me hope

I just don’t get it. In 2021 or so she announced the new Vegas show and started promoting it, a time that seemed like a peak of her illness, and yet she continued. Then all of a sudden everything stopped.
