My goodness just looking up the stories online about the funeral. Seems like the haters are back with their comments. I truly feel sorry for people that do not understand how important Rene was not only to Celine fans- many of us being fans for 20 plus years or so but also to Montreal, Canada, worldwide.  I can't believe people are complaining about what a big event it has been. I truly dont understand people. So much evil in the world. I am really emotional after watching this today. I feel fortunate that for the last 25 years I have been in on a wonderful love story, success story, highs and lows as well as being so proud of them because they are from my country. I also am so happy they have embraced and have been embraced by so many other countries as well. I have so many feelings right now and I just want to give that whole family a big hug right now.

I am touched too. And no matter what she'd do... People would complaing and hate... Don't u see. It's been like this all along...

I'm purposely avoiding any news stories/comments for that reason. I don't think I'd be able to handle it... I'd probably throw my computer out the window.

I just think about how lucky we are as fans to know the true Céline and know that everything related to this funeral was done out of respect for Rene, not ticket sales.

yes. Isn't that the worst part of loving Celine - the lack of understanding from other people!?  Drives me nuts and honestly I'm not going to read any more comments either. I almost wish I had taken the time off work and drove to Montreal for this. I need to be with other Celine fans😢

Oh my GOD!  That makes it all the more heart wrenching. I can't take any more. What a special moment. And even the melody of the song was so perfect

I've noticed for a long time that the commenters on English Canadian news sites are very cynical about Celine as if they don't want anyone to think that they could possibly be fans because she is also Canadian.  They are too cool for school, I guess. I cannot fathom it myself; she has a wonderful voice and has proved that she is a wonderful and sincere person over and over.  I am not sure if they have even listened to her French recordings from their commentary.

  It has always bothered me though because they resurrect all of the old incorrect rumors while revealing that they really know very little about her ( inaccuracies in nearly every comment).  I guess we need to know that Celine has tuned them out and we should also.  But, it's tough for me to do.

  BTW, my son has severe autism and is now 20. But, from the time it came out, he loved MHWGO.  When I played the CD or the video, he would come and sit on my lap until it finished!  He still tries it now and then and he is way too large now!!  LOL!  So, I know that Celine appeals to something elemental in our spirits.

Many of Celines harshest critics are Canadian. I happen to be a very proud Celine-loving Canadian!!

Dumb question maybe - but where do they all go now?  Is there some sort of get together afterward?  And where would they all be staying?  Didnt Celine and Rene sell their home in Montreal?  I mean I get that they could rent a hotel or something but are they staying with family or something?

I was  happy to see so many Canadian fans here.  I am not sure who those folks are on the news sites.  I was puzzled by them, but couldn't believe they were typical .  I need to stop looking at comments!!!!


I think the Montreal house is still for sale.  So, they could be there or with Celine's family.

i prefer to not think about that as a french from Quebec, i guess the majority of anglo canadians are not like that.  I love my language , i want to keep it strong but i have nothing against Canada.

they would not burn the man before the cerimony.... That doesnt make sense... The casket takes the body, also, for cremation. But still we dont know.

Every case I know of is cremated before the ceremony. He will be buried without a doubt.
