Despite of such foolish people (which were to expect perhaps) she's there, at her most vulnerable,, for the people who want to pay their sincere respect to Rene and her.
Really unprecedented. Rene lying in that opened coffin with Celine beside her, at the place they were married. Has there ever been a public person this open towards the public? Let alone someone of her caliber. My God, she's really phenomenal.

The thing that strikes me the most is her reason for doing this: She wants to honor René. She is such an incredible woman, full of love and respect and she has always shown that she is so proud of him, and to be his wife. They always faced a bit of scrutiny because of the age difference, but Céline always combatted it with the fact that they loved each other.

I would imagine that she is so appreciative that so many people have come to share their condolences.

I'm sure she will go to bed tonight extremely exhausted physically and emotionally, but also with an underlying sense of joy and peace that René touched so many people's lives. I'm glad that so many people came out to show her the impact he had.

Poor Celine is starting to shake with exhaustion and emotion.  She is just an amazing person to be there and greet every person,  no celebrity would do that, actually I dont' even know of any regular person who would stay there for that long!!

She is an amazing person. To greet every single person who comes through the line is unbelievable. I had to walk away from the screen for a while. It brought last week back to me. This family is the epitome of class.

This woman is remarkable. Clearly emotionally spent, she is still there. Michel keeps trying to get her to sit down but she won't! She is still getting up, hugging, holding hands, etc. She seems so "in the moment" with each person. Taking in their words to find strength.

I didn't think I could have more love and respect for Céline but I am so in awe of her right now. Truly a special person.

I had no idea this would be televised let alone think Celine would be there greeting people for hours.  It's really a testament to their love and the respect that people have for Rene to be there waiting for hours to pay their respects. If I had time off from work I would've went myself. I think Rene was a great man and accomplished so much, a true visionary.

Celine has handled herself with amazing poise and class. She continues to show me how wonderful and genuinely kind a person can be, even when faced with life's greatest adversities.

Watching Rene and Celine's story through the years, I only hope to have even half the support they gave one another. I know Celine's strength came from Rene's grand love for his incredible wife, his greatest love.

I send my love to them through the universe.

Yahoo news reported that Celine stayed at the church for 1 hour - I've been watching for hours and she was there the whole time.  Am I missing something?

She was initially only supposed to be there for 30 min at the beginning, and then again at the end... But it seems that she was so moved by the turnout that she wouldn't leave.

Exactly -Yahoo news needs to correct this. They are downplaying what she has done. She went above and beyond what anyone would do. I wrote an email to them. I say everyone send a comment through and let people know she stayed for hours. Was still going strong when the live feed ended!

I tried to make corrections in my comments - someone mentioned that they hope Rene's children from his previous marriage got to say good bye (as if to imply that they were not treated as important)- I replied " Renes other children were right there sitting next to Celine" my comment disappeared!!
