Look everyone has a choice. Those who don't want to have the surprise element removed, don't listen to the songs. Those who don't agree with the vote in the first place,don't vote. We've all got choices. 😆
I think it's a novel idea by Celine's team,and it's only one song. Don't think I'd like it for a whole album lol.
And you never know, this winning song may only end up being a bonus track or something. We don't actually know yet do we? It's gonna be interesting that's for sure! 😁

When will the fans bitching about other fans' opinions stop bitching?  
I get tired of the "I'm a superior fan" crap. Normally it's the same people who confess to "feeling" her French catalogue or not liking it at all,or don't have a clue that "Quand ça balance" already appears in her discographie.

they could have also already recorded a song (or more) that was proposed in this competition because it was so good and they really wanted to include it

I would imagine that we are only going to hear a 10 or 15 second clip of all 25 songs and then whatever song gets the most votes will be the song that Celine records in studio and will probably be the first single on the album.

From what I understand it's going to be demos, so it will most likely be sung by someone else and will be an exact sample or pretty close to what the songs would sound like if Celine were to record them.

Here is my question... They said these are the Top 25 songs and that we get to pick 1 of them... so what happens to the rest 24 songs? Is there a chance she might record some of them anyway and put them in the album?

I think asking the fans to pick 1 song is a cool idea! And I don't feel they lack artistic direction...

Celine has been recording music for a good 35 years now. Nothing wrong with finally trying something different for a change.

Here is my theory on how this all might go down.

I think the winning song will be the single. They might use a hand full more song from the 25 songs, but I think her team just wants to get a feel for what the fans want this time around and take it from there. Depending on what the fans choose.

Whether it's a ballad, blues, rock, pop, uptempo or emotional song. Whatever category musically that the winning song falls under, I think that's the direction they will take for a good majority of the album. It will probably be based on what her team thinks the fans want, based on the song that's chosen.

So if a uptempo song gets chosen for example, a good majority of the album will probably be uptempo songs. I would imagine if that's what there strategy is, then they would probably go down the list of the remaining 24 songs and pic mostly uptempo song or whatever other category or style that the winning song will fall under.

My thinking is that this single that the fans are voting on is going to be the foundation of the album and her team will go in whatever direction the fans lead them in. They will also have to mix it up of course by throwing in some other styles of music as well to tie it all together as one cohesive package. But I think our opinions are going to way heavily on the direction of the rest of the album.

I think that when we as fans vote for what song we want on the album on Nov 9th, we have to vote very strategically. I have a feeling that our opinion on the songs is going to be of great importance on the upcoming album. Her team has never done anything like this before so I think they are going to take our opinions very seriously this time around.

I might be getting a little to ahead of myself and giving more importance to this voting thing then there needs to be, but I'm just excited and the bar is set high for her team to deliver a great album. I think with Aldo on board it is going to bring a fresh new side to the way Celine runs her career.

We are already starting to see little changes, with Celine being on instagram and now with the fans being able to vote on which song they want on her album. It just feels more personal. It feels like the fans are starting to be better appreciated and are more a part of the behind the scenes creative process of everything.

It seems like Rene picked the right man for the job and I am very excited to see what Aldo's visions and thoughts might bring to this album!

yes, it will be the first Album and promo under Aldo. I look forward to seeing how it all will be done. Very excited! So far, I really like what he does.

I hope for a lot of behind the scenes footage and a bonus DVD with english subtitles

I don't think that the direction of the whole album depends on one song chosen by fans... that wouldn't make sense to me. I say they rather chose those 25 songs out of thousands that actually can go with songs already considered for the album. She has already recorded a few songs and we have Zaho, Grand Corps Malade et JJG confirmed, so these songs are rather the main focus of the album... and this ADDITIONAL song is just a treat for us because we can choose it.

It would be nice to see some of the other tracks that were popular among fans recorded and included as B-sides with singles (even if they are download-only), or maybe included later as bonus tracks on a special edition/re-release.
