For those who have claimed it’s too expensive to produce DVDs or streaming footage of Céline’s summer tours, let me present you with this...

Eddy de Pretto, a French rapper, is releasing a concert from his last tour to theaters (and streaming, I think?) for August 20-21. Yes, yes he’s a big star right now - but there is no way in hell he has a bigger draw than Ms. Céline, let alone have more money to edit his video footages for the fans.

In fact, looks like it’s part of a concert series/music festival  that’s going on. So there’s even more proof! If up-and-coming artists can find the funds to pay their editing crew, there’s nothing holding TC back except the fact that she doesn’t care to.

That’s exactly it. She doesn’t care to. She doesn’t want to release these items. For whatever reason. We know why she didn’t want the blonde hair A New Day.... released. We know why she didn’t want the Millennium Concert released. We don’t know the reasons why she doesn’t want the other ones released but it’s clear by now that she doesn’t and it isn’t going to happen. Time to move to the part of the grieving period known as “acceptance.”

We can’t make Celine release concerts that she doesn’t want released.

No, we don’t know why, but the point of my post was to disprove the theory that had been repeated over and over in this thread : That post-production on the tour footage is simply too costly to turn any profit.

Its been a while that im saying this. Artists here in Quebec put their shows on dvd and they sell small venues with less than 1000 seats.

I think one of the reasons for the lack of DVD releases is the use of the same pre-records for example The Power of Love.  It is impossible to record a new DVD version every time as for the Taking Chances World Tour.

That's actually kind of hilarious.  I've never realized just how absurd it is that the same "live" track is on all those releases.

Well, remember...”way back then” there was no technology where people could play each song side by side, record it and post it for millions of people to see and point it out. Back then, we were all under the impression that she was singing live. We bought into the smoke and mirrors. We’ve seen how the magic trick is done now and we’re much more aware. We know the signs to look out for that show she’s lipping.

it is a perfect rendition. But wasn’t it odd to release the same prerecorded track on multiple albums? I mean even at that time people could compare it when it was on all those official releases

That’s why mimi fans exposed Céline’s pre recorded track of POL before on YouTube under the name of JamieCl.. something.. because of the same pre recorded track used since 1994-2009

I became a Céline fan in 2002 and already discovered back then that Misled, TPOL and TLYM were lipped and YouTube didn't even exist.

She didn't even bother recording new vocals for the pre-recorded tracks on the Une Seule Fois DVD and the Tokyo 2018 show TV broadcast.

Its so ridiculous when you watch The power of love from the Vegas DVD. The intro with her 2007 vocal and then the 1994 playback started. So obvious that its not live with her younger voice.

Imagine if right now she decide to sing Ce n'était qu'un rêve in playback with the 1981 tape

Yes and many fans recorded the tcwt audio /video and in all those concerts many songs always sound the same because of that same backingtrack.  A clever move then to dub Tpol but they accidentally muted all audience sounds.  Plus that whole concertdvd sounds like a studio recording,  too polished   (almost)  no audiencesounds and no large venue reverb sound.

I wouldn't say it was too polished since it sounded so bad. I mean, the sound and her eq vocals for Céline Sur Les Plaines 2008 DVD is undubbed and it has better sounds.

That was such a magic tour, full of beautiful moments and the love between the audience and Celine... I'm still overwhelmed when I think back when I saw her for the first time, in Antwerpen on june 21 2016.

By far a highlight of her career. No fashion show, no gimmicks, no fads & frills. Just Céline performing songs she felt an obvious connection to, and it showed. So glad I got to experience a number of shows on this tour.
