Celine Dion Performances Scheduled Through Wednesday, August 13 Canceled

CELINE DION PERFORMANCES SCHEDULED

FRIDAY, AUGUST 8 THROUGH WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 13 CANCELED



We regret to inform you that the following four Celine performances at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace have been canceled.

Friday, Aug. 8
Saturday, Aug. 9
Tuesday, Aug. 12
Wednesday, Aug. 13
Celine has been receiving treatment for acute inflammation and swelling in the muscles adjacent to her vocal chords.  After being examined by her physicians earlier today, it was determined that she will require further rest in order to achieve a 100% recovery.

Regularly scheduled performances beginning Friday, Aug. 15 will resume as planned, including the dates below:

Aug: 15, 16, 19, 20, 22, 23, 26, 27, 30, 31

Celine, Caesars Palace, and AEG apologize for any inconvenience this causes ticket holders.

Ticket holders for the canceled performance should be aware of the following:

TICKET REFUNDS

Credit Cards – Orders purchased with a credit card for the canceled performance will be refunded to the credit card used for purchase.

Cash - Those who purchased tickets with cash may present tickets at the original point of sale for a refund.

FUTURE PERFORMANCES

You may purchase tickets for a future performance of Celine at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace (subject to availability).  You may do so in person at the Box Office, by calling 877.4CELINE or 888.9.AXS.TIX, online at www.thecolosseum.com or www.celineinvegas.com.

Please note that Celine, The Colosseum, AXS, Caesars Palace, and AEG Live are not responsible for hotel, travel or other expenses related to the cancellations of these performances.


Superstarleash: I hope you'll be able to see her on Friday the 15th. Are you flying from Australia?

Yes I am flying from Australia on Sunday especially. I can't even find this on Celine's site so I don't know what's wrong with me! LOL! Oh I found it on the Vegas site.

Yes I will be able to see her on Friday the 15th and I am going to cancel Britney Spears on the 16th and see Celine again instead! Good call??

I think you should keep your ticket for Saturday in case Celine cancels again. There are always tickets available right after the show. I booked ORCH 4, row DD 60 minutes before the beginning of the show. Good luck!

This sucks, but I kind of new this was going to happen. Swelling in the musles around the vocal cords is a serious thing especially since it kind of came out of the blue like this. I knew Celine would need more time to recover and rest her voice.

I just hope Celine gets back to 100% and feels better soon. It's probably mostly to do with the recent stress Celine has been through these past 8 months. I know she puts on a brave face but it can't be easy for her. I just want her to stay healthy and find ways to deal with her stress.

Celine said in a recent interview that she is always the one who is stressed and that it's not getting better, it's getting worse. It made me feel so sad. I think it's starting to effect her work. She need to find a way to mannage it. Do yoga, breathing, or something.

Stress is not good for anyone. I know everyone has stress in there lives, but to much stress can cause health issues. I remember reading in one of Celine's books that her and Rene like stress and that they need it in there life, but stress is toxic, it really is.

I hope she feels better soon.

Oh no poor Celine! I'm worried for her now!! She is probably stressing even more now that she has to cancel even more shows.

Sorry to everyone who got their show cancelled.  I feel for you all.  Same happened to me when she was sick in feb/ mar of 2012. I remember how mean people were at that time also.   Hope she gets better soon though it's not fun being this sick for so long.  I am sure she feels terrible hope she is not letting all this stress get to her.  I agree stress can be toxic.

Update of what I have done after stressing around for most (ok..ALL!!!) of the day/night. I managed to get front row Orch 2 tickets for Saturday the 16th via AXS Premium and have put my (cheap) Britney tickets for that night on Ebay. I also have my Orch 4 second row for Friday the 15th.

I have lost my Orch 4 front row VIP packages for the 12th and Orch 4, 6th row seats for the 13th. Still get to see her twice. It's not 3 times I know. Those VIP packages were $1275 each so we have saved a lot of money actually. To look on the bright side...

Needless to say this does make me feel slightly better. Just pray now she doesn't have to can more shows!! The poor woman must be devastated.

Anyway, it's not about me or any of the fans really...it's about Celine and her health.

Keep your Britney tickets she will probably cancel the entire August run .  It ridiculous how often she cancels Caesars must be wild.  She did this in 2012 when we were there and the the talk of the town is her notorious behavior for canceling.  Now, I did go back and see her in July 2012 and was glad I did as the show is fabulous --but she's a diva when it comes to her behavior.  And knock off the pity party for her --she'll be fine.

IF *touch wood* she does cancel the entire August Vegas run I'll just buy more Britney's I think. Shania has been off sick very recently two. Two of their main acts down. Imagine the money that would be lost!!!??? The Colloseum must be CURSED!!!!

P.S She is so damn good at lip synching I am actually surprised she didn't just do that actually...

From what I can gather from the information we've been given, even lipping would be detrimental to her.  This is more than just a simple inflammation.  There are many factors involved, with the main one being stress.  Being on stage, whether one enjoys it or not, puts considerable amounts of stress on one's body and mind.  Even if she isn't singing, she would still be using muscles in her neck and jaw to move her mouth up and down to lip to a song.  She would still have to be moving from one end of the stage to another...and be on her cues at all time.  Then, there are the costume changes she would have to do...again, while remaining on cue.  There would be bright lights in her face.  Granted, she would normally be accustomed to this, but when one is ill, other senses can become heightened.  Thus, causing more stress on the body and mind.  Furthermore, she could be worried while "performing" if she is doing more damage to her body.  Again, more stress to her body and mind.  I won't even get into the whole ethical debate about if her lipping should be considered fraudulent or not.

So, in the big picture, it's best for her to get rest and not perform until everything is back to what is "normal" for Celine's body and mind.

I really hope she is back to full health soon.
It's a dream for me to fly to Vegas and see her but now it's looking like this may not happen.
I'm hoping for the best out come but preparing myself for the worst tbh

I've always felt the contract was too long to begin with. 9 years IMO is too much so I'm not surprised to see this happening. I am so sorry for everyone who's show was cancelled but I agree I would rather her cancel 6months -1year of performances then to lose her amazing voice. That and I'm sure everything with Rene and raising the kids and all of that is prob not helping the situation so I wish Celine a speedy recovery! And Shania as well I saw she's been ill recently!

I'm curious to know more about this diva behavior and how it's the talk of the town that she cancels all the time.

I will say that since she's been there this time it does seem like she's had to cancel quite a bit for one illness or another. Maybe the length of her career,  etc. is starting to take its toll?  Not to mention the other stress she's had this year.

That said I wish her a speedy recovery. I'd rather her rest than wreck her voice for the sake of not wanting to disappoint. I do feel for the people who planned vacations to see her though.

She didn't cancel at all in 2013.  And before this summer her last cancelation was early 2012 I think???

Caesars ain't mad at her.  Talk of that is just ridiculous.  She was there from 2003-2007 and canceled a bunch of times.  They begged for her to go back.  Stop with the stupid statements.  #SCF

She did cancel Feb 19, 20, and 22, 2013.
