One hundred percent agreed. It really does sound like a demo. At best, 70% finished, so repetitive and basic. verse, chorus, verse, same chorus, then the exact chorus just repeats itself at the end. Boggles me how people think this is like even good. It's so demo'y

Well, that depends.
From the modern songwriting's point of view a song without a bridge or "C part" is almost incomplete.
"A common format would be as listed: Verse, Pre-Chorus, Chorus, Verse, Pre-Chorus, Chorus, Bridge (Middle Eight), Verse, Chorus."
http://en.wikipedia...._(popular_music)
The bridge could often be referred as the "climax" of the song.
Examples:
"If you see me coming, look away, look away" (WAAF)
"You saw through the pain, you saw through the mask, you never gave up on me" (LMBTL)
"Oh, anything is better than this..." (Breakaway)
"Now you're lying in my bed beside me..." (DKL)
"Some people live their lives..." (SLS)
"And I caught rainbows falling down..." (Thankful)
Surprisingly, another song that has no bridge is INCREDIBLE. Haven't we all seen many people describing it as "repetitive" or "boring"? even though the chorus is great.
A bad structure could actually kill a song with a good hook as much as bad production. Same with the last chorus, it should bring something new to the table. Sometimes a key change, or ad libs, or a collision.
Objectively, SYS doesn't have a bridge and the last chorus sounds exactly the same as each of the previous ones.

They should have thought of that. I guess the bridge for SYS was the rap on the venyl edition. It was too "risqué" lol so they took it off and now its more plain... They should drop a bombshell like beyonce did, and release SYS music video with the rap version.

Oh we got some many "clin d'oeils" to Unison with this album! the cover... the harmonies on SLS, the rap in SYS...

I followed your postings in the last few days and I have to say that Somebody loves Somebody is a really huge pearl of the album. I liked it from the first day on and even today I'm still listening to it.
At the weekends when I'm partying with friends, I always take my USB-Stick with me with that song to get it played and everybody loves this song. It has so much power a makes people dancing. It's really a shame that Sony lost his view of putting treasures out of Celines albums or not to promote them like they derserve.
Anyway... I make my own promotion and people recognize that song with very positive feedbacks and I enjoy this.
SOMEBODY LOVES SOMEBOOODYYYYYYY
OHHHH OH OH OHHHH OOOHOOOHHHOOO
Nice weekend to everyone...

It says COMMON, it doesn't say, "perfect" or "best way". Quite a difference there..

Yes, "technically" that may very well be, but IMO music is first and foremost EMOTION. If a song is comprised of 10 choruses or no bridges, if you love the song, thát's what matters. So yes "boring" is a subjective opinion. If a song is technically as perfect as can be and I don't like it, then it can still be boring. And I haven't begun talking about taste yet (also subjective!).......

I agree. And I have to say it again.. I find the choruses of INCREDIBLE and SYS great! I mean both songs have great melodies. And that's what brings us to the question of why so many people find them boring, despite being distinctive... and that's the structure that's failing. "Incredible" from the production's point of view was resolved in a better way (with transitions and things like that) while SYS... well I dunno... they even could have added some ad libs over the last chorus... + the rap... that would have completed the song! And I'm not talking from a subjective point of view.
If that was the case... I could say objectively that ABYG is a well written song. While subjectively it really annoys me and I have to skip it everytime.
I do listen to "Incredible" and even SYS (and enjoy them) even knowing those songs could have been a lot more.

I sincerely hope she performs it in Vegas this "Summer" and then have the album stocked in the Gift shop.
I know the chances are slim; but how sweet would a video/single for this be in July or August

Somebody Loves Somebody [CD1 - Standard Edition]
1. Somebody Loves Somebody
2. Somebody Loves Somebody (Instrumental)
Somebody Loves Somebody [CD2 - Deluxe Edition]
1. Somebody Loves Somebody
2. Super Love
3. Somebody Loves Somebody (Instrumental)
4. Somebody Loves Somebody (Remix)
I included "Super Love" because its message has similarities to that of "Somebody Loves Somebody." Plus, it's a fun, uptempo number that pairs well with "Somebody Loves Somebody."
