This song needs a playback version of Céline performing it so bad!!! It's one her best uptempo songs since One Heart album! Given that it seems we won't have real videoclips, at least a playback performance of the song will make it!

Wait....you want a lipped performance of this because we don't have a music video for it? Why would/should it get a music video if its not going to be a single? And why specifically a playback lipped performance when we have 2 live performances of it?

Also, this exceeds any uptempo song on OH in my honest opinion.

Exactly. For two reasons:

1) Because it seems we won't get any more videoclips of Celine with this album. So better to have a playback performance than nothing.

2) Why in playback? Because when its about an uptempo song, she rarely beats the album version, like we've seen in the first US performances of LMBTL. And she sang this song in a lower tone, not in the original album track. So if I want to show my friends a video of Céline performing LMBTL exactly as it sounds in the album, I'll show them one of the playback performances she has done, simply because it sounds better (like in Wetten Dass, Vivement Dimanche, C'est votre histoire etc). That was the use of the videoclips, like I said, but since we've getting no one, I'd go for a playback performance if I want to show how the new Celine material sounds with a video.

Same goes for Somebody Loves Somebody. The 2 performances she's done so far, apart that the song is edited, she doesn't sing it as good as in the album version . It happened with That's The Way It Is before. If you want to show a friend a video of Céline singing this hit, or someone who needs to remember how this Celine song was, will you show them one of the lifeless live performances they did with it (because the band never matched the original album instrumental when performing it live), or you will rather show them the original videoclip (which is great), or a playback performance in a TV show with all the power and the original key that the song has? I'm clear about it, I wouldn't think twice!

And also, that's what I hope with Breakaway. I'm hoping for a live performance, but only if she nails the song as in the album version. If not, I'd rather have a good playback performance than a bad live one, always

EDIT: That said, I don't mean that from now on I would rather have Céline doing playback performances of the new songs everywhere. But if we can have at least one playback video of SLS, Breakaway, etc, that will be the closest thing we'll have to a videoclip of the song, because we'll have the original album track playing, while we have a video of Celine "performing" the song too

After 'Breakaway' and 'Incredible' their best options are 'Didn't Know Love' and 'Somebody Loves Somebody' for me!

I agree. Depending on how long the "Incredible"/"Breakaway" eras will last, I hope a ballad will be released near St. Valentine's day and then start the spring/summer with an uptempo sizzler like this.

I also can't wait to hear remixes for this one.

Javito I agree with everything you said in your above post except wanting her to lip SLS.  I was stunned at how well she sung the track live during the US promo.  I felt proud to be a fan watching those performances.

I knoooow!!! I'm all for live performance, whou wouldn't? But I love videoclips too, and given the fact that they're not shooting any videoclips for this album, I was only suggesting that having a playback performance of each song at least would be a pseudo videoclip (in absence of a real one)!

For example with LMBTL its great because we have too many performances to choose from. If I want to see how she performs it live, there are plenty of TV shows and concerts where she did it, but if I want to show the new single to my friends, exactly how it sounds in the album, I'll go with the playback performances in Germany or France!

Oh ok, it's because your statement "given the fact that they're not shooting any videoclips for this album" sounds like an affirmation of confirmation of sorts.

I still won't shut down the lights on MVs, as we're just one month into the album. Hopefully we'll get one or more.

I hope so. It's not confirmed but come on, its been 3 months since they released the first single and they have not prepared any videoclip, when for Taking Chances they had ready material for Alone and even Eyes On Me in the same shooting of the Taking Chances video. If they had the intentions to do a good videoclip, they would have done it for the first and *supposedly* strongest single, which is the first one.

Don't give up your hopes, but you know how it goes with Sony Music and Céline. The best is not to expect anything, otherwise you'll be disappointed (like I've been many times)

Who knows if the second single will pull a MHWGO and it'll be the one that drives the sales in the US.

Then, I wish SLS will get released and remixed so we have more chart action on different formats.

As LMBTL is almost a Top 10 hit on the dance/club songs chart, let's see if they service this to DJs/clubs as well so it becomes another dance smash!

i sooool agree w/ u 'superlove4celine' that celines song "somebody loves somebody" would make a GREAT single for celine since its very upbeat & modern-sounding, this song or "save your soul", w/ the rapping part from the vinyl edition, which is also very upbeat & modern-sounding, (& even includes rap in it which celines hasnt ever included in her music except for the unison remix back in 1990 lol & which most people except for us celine fans, even know about lol), SHOULD BE RELEASED AS SINGLES, PLEASE NO MORE BALLAD SINGLES SONY!!!! the general public might have loved her ballads back in the day & i love most of her ballads too, as well as most of her upbeat songs... but now most people in general are into mostly upbeat & dance songs, that is what dominates the radios nowadays, its sad but true!!!!


btw is it the fb & twitter accounts thats under her name???? cuz i know that she doesnt use fb or twitter herself, @ least thats what she says in her interviews these days lol, she has said that she doesnt use the internet @ all, kinda like my mom & some of my older aunts & uncles dont either lol... i just wanna make sure of that, since it seems like the fb & twitter accounts dont get much updates @ all these days, so i really hope that sony or whoever that owns those 2 accounts, are actually checking her accounts & not just ignoring them...

Great idea, I think Save Your Sou, as karebear82 mentioned above, could be another potential Summer hit for Celine, BUT we know how Sony works with/for her when it comes to singles. A true shame, 'cause both songs could be huge Summer smashes, specially SYS!

& i agree w/ u 'chin' & 'mike_z' that "somebody loves somebody" is the best single for celine!!!! what the hell is stupid sony waiting for???? its one of the most upbeat & danceable type of songs that celine has done since "i drove all night" back in 2003, & i like sls waaay better than idan, i mean ilike idan it is fun & catchy, but sls is much better...
