Cher: 6 years, and before: 12 years.
Madonna's latest 4 albums: 3 to 4 years in between each.

I'd say 3 albums in 6 years for someone who cared about her dying husband and had a surgery for an ear problem that impacted her singing, well I could not wish more.

And at 40 years old: 15 French speaking albums and 11 English. I'd say: not bad.

Not really, SA was released exactly 6 years ago, November 2012. In any case, 6 or 7, she releases more new music than Madonna, Mariah, Shania, Christina, Britney, Alanis...

When you count back years, you don’t count “2018, 2017, 2016...” It’s 2018 now; so 2017 was one year ago, 2016 was two and so on. Today’s date in 2012 was 6 years ago.

It’s just making excuses to be honest.... it’s too long between albums.  If LMBTL was a masterpiece then fine but it wasn’t ...

Nobody is making excuses, we just need to understand how the music industry has changed in the last years. The focus is no longer on new music but concerts. Veterans artists will struggle to sell more and more each year, streaming is taking over and they are just not strong. Mariah Carey’s new album has sold less than 70K in the WHOLE world. She won’t sell 150k when the era is over. That’s simply no profitable, albums are now just an excuse to tour, nothing more. Celine has also a French career that is even more successful, so is just normal she also releases French albums. But all things considered she recorded more new music in the last years than any of the peers. Fair or not this is the world we live in now.

And at the same time there's never been easier to release music today. With very cheap equipments and a computer you can record music at the convenience of your own home.

When there's a will there's a way, and for Céline there's simply an excuse and a lack of will to do anything new, either with recording new music or also when it comes to her shows to make them different each time she tours. There's not even a chance taken to rehearse new songs for her last Vegas show, when it's more convenient and easy for her to clone and copypaste the summer tour and perform it on Vegas. That's the most obvious proof that it's just that Céline herself doesn't want to do anything new with music these days

Your post is the biggest excuse for not releasing anything, for not doing anything. But while Céline takes 6 years without doing new music, there are hundreds of artists taking the smallest chance to release new songs to her fans on a constant basis, and with way more limited means than Céline has.

If I were you I wouldn't keep repeating that Celine hasn't done new music in 6 years when some of us have already mentioned we had new albums in 2012, 2013 and 2016 plus a few English singles in between. That could just make you look like a lunatic and you wouldn't want that, would you?

In any case, it is evident you are not ok with how Celine handles her career. Lately you sound even more bitter and resentful, maybe is time for you to move on from her if she doesn't make you feel happy as before? Don't take this as an attack or anything, but why coming back to something that clearly makes you frustrated and unhappy? There are plenty of artists, as you say, that handle their careers the way you like. If Celine is not one of them just move on from her and spend your time on the things that make you feel good.

And she makes me more than happy with all the music she has released, but I, as 99% of fans that think the same and keep repeating she needs a management in her career and a record label that cares better about her, we do believe things can be done way much better than what they're doing. If you are satisfied and happy on how her career is handled nowadays, glad for you, but let me and others agree to disagree

I agree with you. Look at what Mariah is doing at the moment. She does it right. I loved the appearance on the lift with her fans. And you can see that she is passionate about writing and producing music. Celine not at all (that’s at least how it appears to be). She is into fashion and handbags...
