No problem, Ronan, I only went through this entire topic last night, I haven't been following it at all earlier, I only knew some posts that are now visible here as they were originally posted in an another/wrong topic.- including my earlier post

Anyways, I really enjoy this performance and am listening to it again and again, even despite the quality, haha!
It's simply amazin!! Actually it's one of Adele songs that I used to like less, I like many of her songs way more, but Céline brought this song for me to a totallz new level and now I'm just badly hoping for a better quality recording to pop up to get even more out of it!!

You know I love you anyway, haha, but this is one more extra point for you!!!

And yes, most of the guys are still enjoying Vegas so we can not expect them to jump on a computer to upload bootlegs or whatever treats may they be havubg in store for us!

And if there won't be any other recording than what? Most of people just want to enjoy the show + noone wants to get in troubles in the Colosseum so I will be fairly fine with no further recordings that's very well understandable.

I think we should count ourselves lucky that we've got a recording of "RITD" from its "premiere"!!

It's a shame that such a poor quality file went viral.  I think the quality doesn't do Celine's voice justice

Are you kidding me? No difference between Dolly's and Whitney's version? Dolly does hers in a country like fashion, guitarrs and such. Whitney does hers in a more sensual mode with lots of sax and such. Whitney does the entire first verse in acapella then slowly builds it up to a dramatic climax. Dolly goes easy country pretty much all through. Whitney's version is a proper cover and not just a karaoke-ish recording.

EDIT. AND I am very glad Céline's version of IDAN differs from other versions. Now it is more her song.

But Cyndi Lauper and Roy Orbison fans often b*tch about Celine's version of I Drove All Night. They say that she ruined the song, that her version is too commercial, etc...

She obviously can't please everyone.

Dolly Parton fans also often complaint about Whitney Houston's version of I Will Always Love You.

Of course they would say that. Even if they actually thought she did it well they would still say that (if they aren't very humble).

If anyone covers Céline we will have most likely negative opinions about it. If it was someone less popular than her we would go "cute" at best, but still cling to that her version is best. If it was someone near/around her popularity we would rage like mad, pointing at every weakness and making up weakness where there isn't any. It's all about territory and threat, and of course loyalty.

I didnt want her to do it from the begining she sounds good but as i said no celine flavour in it its like she learned the words by heart and just saying them even the parts were u are supposed to feel celine can add a little somthing from her she didnt  maybe because we always expect more from her. No the recorder explains that her phone memory ran out on rolling in the deep, she wanted to record the whole thing.
