It's great to see Celine having a ball with Rolling in the Deep.
I bet this was her idea to sing it in Vegas. Love it!
And she's getting tons of publicity out of it, although very few of those articles mention she's coming up with new albums!!
Seems that Celine has now  found THE type of music she wants to record. It suits her very well.

AND .......on my way into work they played a snippet of it on the Radio.

Anyone searched Celine on twitter? She is a hot topic with the ritd cover. They definitely need video footage of this soon, would also be good to do a new promo for the marquee outside ceasars with her singing this.. I haven't seen so much positive support from the English community for her forever.. Lots of good comments about her cover of this song

She's getting a lot of criticism about not doing anything original with the song, which is fairly common with her.  I don't know why people have such a problem with doing covers similar to the original.  It's not like she's trying to reinvent the wheel.  Why do people like covers to be different anyway, you might as well just record a different song.  People like the original, so why change it up so much that it doesn't resemble the original?  It's a great song to begin with, and Celine just put her voice to it.  You don't have to dislike it just because it's not different, dislike it for other reasons if you dont like her voice or whatever, but not because it's the same as the original.  It doesn't always need to be compared to the original, you like it for what it is or you don't.

I thought she changed a few things in the first verse that sounded a little bit differently. I guess this isn't really the kind of song I'd expect for her to change much.

I have to say, I knew Celine would do the song justice, but her rendition is even better than I expected. Musically it's not too different from Adele's version, but for me, it has a slightly different feeling, which I completely love.

Now, I hope Celine's team is really aware of this going viral and makes good use of it by releasing official video footage or even a professional audio version! They need to strike while the iron's hot! Surely there have got to be people on her team that are involved in social media and have a sense of how big this is becoming, right?!

I always wish for people to interpret the song when covering. I haven't complained about her unoriginality on this performance however since I didn't take it as a real cover, just something she wanted to do for fun.

Otherwise I am all for making the song your own. What's the point with covering if you just gonna make it sound as close to the original? Then people might as well just listen to the original. A well done cover is a cover made on a popular track which people have grown a bit tired of. Then the new version comes along which reinvent the song and put another perspective the the song's greatness. If the cover is done in such a way that it's just a copy, all that is being lost.

You are more than right! But sadly this is not what her team is known for. They release GTSW during the ANDHC era, they totally ignored the oportunity when Céline got multi attention during the WATW recording sessions. And they did nothing during the Titanic hype this spring.

to me Celine Dion's sings it almost like the original version, but with more power. I think a big artist like Celine should not cover songs that are so wellkown and esspecially not when it's someone like Adele who is currently popular.
So don't get me wrong, Celine really owned this song. it sounds amazing, so much power, very well sung. but it ain't her own.
That is not original in my opinion. Yes it is going viral and that is good, but I still don't get why Celine picked this song.
Apart from singing it perfect the song is almost like Adele's.
I have seen comments on some sites and youtube that Celine should pick her own songs and stay away from Adele's songs.
That is I think how it is, all Celine lately does in Vegas is covering songs that are not her own. That is not original.

We went to the Celine show on Sunday 10th June and I must say that I think it's the best I've ever heard Celine sing.

She hit every note perfectly and all completely live.

I think the enforced rest has done her voice good.

Well done Celine!   

It was a first class show and if you haven't seen it yet you will not be disappointed.

I completely agree, and it's a shame that her team is not more savvy in social media/internet marketing, since that's so much of where things happen now. This has been discussed ad naseum here, and it's no surprise that there have been plenty of opportunities to make the most of things like this, and we have seen time and again that they haven't. I guess we can only hope that having Adele's name recognition as part of this, that it will be a big enough deal for the team to make some effort...

well I don't think they do anything with it, but it sure has made Celine Dion popular again, or at least heard by a large audience,
that alone could be very good for her !

I agree with you...but I also read a few times about people saying she made it her onw way...so it all depends on perceptions...

You know what?! It reminds me of S&M of rhianna. Huge hit, few months later, out of no where, Britney spears goes into studio and records S&M with rhianna. Result? The duet is a bigger hit than the original song.

I think celine and adele should do the same thing with Rolling In The Deep.

I said it would be a good idea to add in the description about the new English album considering its getting so much hype.  They replyed and said it was a good idea, so its been added to the description, so at least everyone will know about the new albums too, which i think is important!

Also,  CelineDionAcapella told me he/she knows the video has not been credited and asked me for help finding the person who created it.  Does anyone who who the video should be credited to?  then ill send CelineDionAcapella an email and he/she will credit the person who created it.

CelineDionAcapella was really nice, and i think its just a fan, no need to be against this person.  

Does anyone know who should be credited for this?

The Kane Show - plays on 99.5 around here, but also plays across the country on many stations.
I can't find a link to it on the website - they played it and talking about it for a few minutes saying how it sounds good!

I agree, I mean with that kinda song you can only do so much to it. It's like "I Will Always Love You" the only real difference is Whitney hitting the note, the musical arrangement is pretty close to Dolly's version. If she changed it up, the song would have ended up like I Drove All Night, there are so many mixed emotions people have over Celine changing it up.

CelineDionAcapella asked who to to give the credit for the recording, Koolan gave them the answer but they never added the credit although they were active online in the meantime.
They still give all the credit to themselves and to the Greek site...
