1) Those who want more of her hits (i.e. Think Twice, A New Day Has Come, That's The Way It Is, If You Asked Me To...)
2) Those who want more of her own songs, but not necessarily hits (i.e. Then You Look At Me, Right In Front Of You, Just Walk Away...)
In my case I'm in the second option, and I think its the intelligent one, because if I had the chance to see her performing whatever song I could request from her catalogue, I won't ask her to sing again a song that she has already performed, even if its a rare song. I would take advantage of this chance and request songs that she has never performed on a stage before
I mean we've seen her sing That's The Way It Is already (and this song never worked live), we already have videos of If You Asked Me To performances. But we've never seen her sing Then You Look At Me, I'm Loving Every Moment With You, Halfway To Heaven, Right In Front Of You or I Know What Love Is. Those are the songs I would love to see her sing, and I thought she would take the chance with this show to present them for the very first time since she recorded them. But she didn't, and that's why I somehow feel disappointed.
Though its not the end of the world, I know, and hopefully we'll see some positive changes later
So I assume that when you said "the robot voice through the so called *much needed* songs", you are referring to the hits, not the totally unknown songs that I mean in the group 2. Therefore, Céline can't be tired of singing any of those songs since she has never performed them in front of people
Correct such as I'm Alive, I drove all night,

Seriously, what's with the entitlement? Celine didn't sing your favorite song? BOO-OOH! CRY ME A f****** RIVER. Do you always behave like petty annoying and spoiled children when you don't get what you want? How old are you? 5 years old?
I am feeling quite sick right now. How unfair is this, not only to Celine, who is working her butt off, but to the whole team of Rene, Ken, Mego, Aucoin and others who worked so hard for this. To have a bunch of entitled people writing such bullshit. You should be very ashamed of yourselves. I am ashamed of being remotely connected to this so call forum of fans. Seriously. And what makes me actually shake with rage is the fact that you mention the forum with 25000 members when it's only a bunch of you who are pissed off. You had no right to do this.
This forum had fans dancing on the streets of Vegas, people offering gifts to Rene under a banner with this forum's name, people doing interviews just 2 days ago. Now this articles made them look like fools. You made us all look like fools. Next time, used YOUR NAMES, not ours. It's not fair!
Haven't you learned nothing from Celine all these years? What about respect and humility? Learn your lesson, then.
Thank you so much!!! I couldn't agree more!

Eventhough i've been here since 2009 i still feel kind of a newbie to step it in this dramatic conversation. But here's just my little thought.
I understand that a lot of people are angry at this article. I wasn't pleased with it either. Even if i'm one of those who think Celine could sing more of her own songs (rare ones), this article isn't fair for the people who don't, which i'm sure is the majority (we don't know). It was a mistake but who doesn't make mistake? Nobody. I can't and wont blame Darren. This guy brought too much contribution to this forum and i'm very thankful for that.
Finally, I just wanted to say that this quote made me LAUGH OUT LOUD

Nowhere does it say "ALL" fans. Get a serious grip and have a look at yourselves.
Darren is to be commended for having the courage to speak up and help those "some" of us who don't particularly worship the set list.
The bigger question needing to answered here, by those at the very top, is what is wrong with going to a Celine Dion concert and wanting to hear CELINE DION songs!?!?

He picked Darren and now you want to perscute him? Relax. It doesn't look bad on us. If anything I am proud that people speak up and give their opinions.
We can't agree with everything that Celine and Rene do. We're not robots.
I don't believe that anyone would be stupid enough to read that article and think "wow even her big fans are unhappy"
Besides all that, Rene has poeple checking these forums to see what we say, so he would have known about it long before Nowm said anything.

Yes. I couldn't have said it any better.
I am so sick and fed up with people getting the back hand if they're unhappy about something. Jesus christ people, allow for some opinion here. Like Jane said, we're not going to bow down to something we don't like. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the show and thought it was amazing. I admire the hard work they put in. All the rehearsals of new songs, re-recording of playbacks, and just every ounce of effort. I see it and I respect that. At the same time, that doesn't mean that I am completely satisfied with everything.
And I just find it so hypocritical of some people to get right in there on the bitching and then give Darren the glare of death because he was the one who spoke up.
I know she can't make everyone happy, but that doesn't mean that opinions need to be hidden. I am glad someone has spoke up, and quite frankly for the "greatest selling female artist of all time" to sing covers for 60%+ of the show....that doesn't say much about her own catalogue of songs does it???

I couldn't agree more with you! I was very disappointed when I read the article!
I believe people did not understood the concept of this new show, wich is so sad!
I love the set list, though it fit so well with Celine and Vegas, a perfect match! My dream it's go see it!

Maybe the poeple that are asking for Then You Look At Me should just let it go

Jimena (celinedream, from the spanish section) told us that they met Humberto Gatica when the opening show finished, and he told her that he liked a lot the show, but if he was allowed to do a constructive critic, "there were too much ballads... think about it"
This said by the person who has been Céline's sound engineer in all her recordings for almost 20 years of her career.
We can't be that wrong when we ask for uptempo songs in Céline's album promotions and concerts!

I think they should transition into TLYM after the violin solo. And the costume change inteissioms are a lot longer than previous shows like the world tour

^^ I want the Ella song to stay in. It's the highlight of the show. Or one of them.
I would remove the Stevie duet and have her do either Tell Him or Immortality, or even I Hate You Then I Love You (but I'd much prefer one of those first two).
Lullaby can be removed for a Miracle song. At Seventeen can be replaced with a new song. That's all I care to change.

(Would love her to add "Total Eclipse Of The Heart"... sadly I think I will never hear her rendition..

I don't want to be mean but you have somewhat crossed a line between being angry and just simply impolite; We have ALL the rights to request whatever we wish to hear her sing; afterall, this is what this forum is about; you can suggest things and hope they will hear us and fullfil our dreams; it's NOT the end of the world if our voice has been heard; Why do you wish to stay in the shadows while your voice can be heard?!

That would be amazing
There You'll Be would be a good song to have in the show.

That's the means to capture Celine's attention; It's not the END of the world you are overreacting to a NEWS not a FACT; Who said the show was going to change because it was said in a newspaper. and If it changed it would be for the best! So why the complaint while deep down you desire the same thing as the fans cited in the newspaper

What?! Bite your tongue (wink, wink)! As one of Céline's "older" fans (both in age and years loving her,) I'm thrilled Céline is singing, "At Seventeen." I was 17 when I listened to and sang Janis Ian's song over and over again! Now, all these years later, my favorite-artist-of-all-time is singing this song! I've come full circle! I loved hearing Céline's rendition during the pre-Grammy's and hope to hear her sing it when I get to Vegas.
And, I am one of those fans that loves to hear Céline sing songs other than what she has recorded (and then I secretly hope she records them.) Because I get the chance to hear her beautiful voice move through a melody like I've never heard before. I buy her french albums for the same reason. I'm happy with the show's current song list. But, if they changed it up that would be fine too. Because all I want is to hear Céline's beautiful voice. Because with that voice, I hear and feel her humility, her vulnerability, her strength, her discipline, her devotion and her love!

"Well, fans think the middle of the show is too boring," he said
This statement is true. As fantastic as the show is, halfway through fans begin to wonder.....are her hits over? I said it before, the show is top heavy for hits, but lacks in the middle.
Cut out a couple of covers and add a couple of Celines's hits...She's got plenty. "If you asked me to" is begging to be played.
