Honestly, I hope so!! I don't need another stadium tour! I want her to play like 15 or 20 times in Le Zenith or Olympia in Paris, give us a real french show... and then do some smaller venues, where it is once again about her voice and the music, and not the 'special effects'

Okay, so I think we just got our official confirmation that the show has been extended for two more years.  In a recent article in which Elise Duguay was interviewed, it talks about the show being five years.  Here is the except from the article:

I agree with anewdayhascome, 3 years is more than enough, I'd rather see that she does a world tour instead of 2 more years, if anything.

Five years is too long. I think she will have to reinvent that show with a different set and new songs to make it work!

5 years is too long for me as well. Honestly I wasn't expecting many of you guys here to have the same opinion, but apperently many of us have had enough of Vegas and want her to do something else, that's something to keep in mind for Sony.

This is not anything that I know, but I can imagine that performing in LV for several years with the same show may not be the most fun thing (I know she wants stability in her life though, which I of course want her to have). If it only was possible to do many little things but still remain in one place, like recording an album here and there, then maybe doing a movie and getting an Oscar like she dreamed of, maybe a few TV apperances and of course a few shows here and there, but not for as many years at once. Nowadays that's not possible though, it's all about money...

I must say I have mixed feelings about that decision but if they think it's the best thing to do, I trust them.

Thank you, for the info Lindsey.   I love, that Celine will be there for five years. Its only a two hour flight for me, were I live. Plus, Celine's new show is allot different than her last Vegas show. There is her band, Orchestra, and herself. Plus I think Celine, wants to give her Twins the same life Rene Charles had when she did her last show. Go to the Colussium, Have Supper, Do the show, and come home and be with her boys. What's wrong with that.

yw! It's also so many less shows per year- so she has plenty of time to schedule in other things. You know, before, it was all about the show, and doing it so many nights a week, every week. SO different now! I don't see Vegas as a "trap" for her. It's like her day job, doing what she loves . She can schedule as much or as little of anything she wants around that and have a very complete life and career. She can do albums, movies, whatever and still do a little show called, "Celine" at the Colosseum where her fans can come see her for a few months out of the year. It's not as strenuous as a tour, but she could do small tour legs if she wanted. Plus she can mold that show into whatever she wants- it will definitely evolve over time. So I think it's smart!

She defiontely has more room to schedule stuff with reme and rc andthe twins. I think that she should extended it but that is my opinion. I would love for her too. but i love it. If she doesnt that is ok.

Well, some may disagree but it was schedulled to happen sooner or later...  And actually, it's one of the best things they could have done.  Vegas is their third home (after Laval, QC and Jupiter Island, FL).  She doesn't have a to busy schedule, she has plenty of time to take care of her kids and do the things to loves the most...  Being a mother for her children...  While enjoying being a mother she can enjoy singing in a special made venue with a lovely, personal, show...  Rene is getting older, her mom is getting older, Rene-Charles is growing up, her twins need attention and she's getting older too...  I've said it once and I'll say it again...  She has done anything she likes, she reached the top, she sold millions of records, she changed Vegas, etc...  She is probably a billionaire when you combine their assets...  She doesn't need to prove anything anymore...  She has reached a turning point in her life and she has made some choices about it...  Some may forget that travelling arround the globe, even in a private jet, is taking a toll on the person in question.  It's very demanding...  Changing of timezone's, lake of decent sleep, changes in temperatures, humidity, airconditioning systems, the flying itself...  You can't underestimate what this all does with a human body...  Just try it for once and go fly arround for a couple of weeks.  Spend those airmiles on a round the world ticket and fly arround the globe in a couple of weeks time and you'll notice -soon- that it's not all glitter and glamour, even when flying business or first...  And it's not all about her anymore, her children, but more important her husband and her mom who are getting both to a not so young age anymore.  They don't recuperate so easy anymore and you can't rule out that sooner or later their health will go down...  So the best thing she could do for her and more importantly her family is to settle down...  And by setteling down in Vegas she gives everyone a chance to see her perform since you can be certain that she's still there in a couple of years of time.  So everyone can save to see her since there's absolutely no rush...

Honestely?  I -think- that 5 years could just be the beginning...  I expect her to add additional years to the contract in the future.  It will all depend on the health of her and her family in the first place and how the shows perform...  Maybe there is a slight chance that she goes on a limited world tour again in about 5 years but I expect that we won't see something again like the Taking Chances tour...  Those days are over I guess...

Will it ruin her career?  No it wont...  Celine has reached the top, she's standing there together with Madonna, U2, The Beatles, Elvis, Michael Jackson, Abba, Queen, Frank Sinatra, and many many more...  The sky is the limit, well that's where she is right now...  At the sky and thus also the limit...

I totally agree with you. That's what she wants, she has done pretty much everything she has wanted and I think that now she wants to settle down and spend time with her kids, husband and mother. I totally agree with you! So well said. I do think that there is going to be one more tour but much less demanding as TC was. Plus, I'm sure that she enjoys going to do a show for a few hours, a couple of times a week.

Towards the end of AND you could tell that she was just going through the motions, this could happen with this.  Although the reduced amount of shows she's doing it might be a whole new ball game.
