La star a accepté d’enregistrer la chanson À Paris, écrite par Francis Lemarque et jadis interprétée par Yves Montand, à la suite d’un intérêt que lui a manifesté le maire de Paris, Bertrand Delanoë.

«Le geste de Céline Dion nous touche beaucoup à Paris», témoigne la directrice des communications pour le bureau du maire Delanoë, Anne-Sylvie Schneider.

«Monsieur Delanoë a d’ailleurs écrit une lettre à Mme Dion pour la remercier de son intérêt», ajoute-t-elle.

La chanson, enregistrée à Las Vegas la semaine dernière, doit être entendue durant la campagne de promotion, qui est déjà en cours et se terminera le jour du vote, le 6 juillet.

«Comme l’enregistrement est encore tout récent, nous ne savons pas encore exactement quelle sera l’utilisation de la chanson ou même si elle pourrait être la chanson officielle des Jeux olympiques si Paris est choisi.

«Pour l’instant, c’est une grande marque d’affection de Céline envers la candidature de Paris», précise Anne-Sylvie Schneider.

Selon elle, plusieurs sportifs et quelques artistes ont déjà donné leur appui à la candidature de Paris, mais aucun d’eux n’a enregistré de chanson avant Céline.

La plus connue
Joint par Le Journal de Montréal, le mari et gérant de la chanteuse, René Angélil, a lui aussi confirmé l’enregistrement de la chanson par Céline.

«Le maire de Paris a choisi Céline plutôt qu’une chanteuse française parce qu’il a jugé, d’un point de vue international, que Céline était l’artiste francophone la plus connue dans le monde», explique René Angélil, précisant que la star, par le passé, a déjà chanté pour le mouvement olympique.

«Ça a notamment été le cas pour les Jeux olympiques d’Atlanta», fait-il remarquer.

En effet, Céline Dion a interprété la chanson The Power of the Dream lors de la cérémonie d’ouverture du 100e anniversaire des Jeux olympiques modernes, à Atlanta en 1996.

Today they talked about the new french song A paris on the French radio.They said that the song is still on vegas and that celine received a personnal letter from Paris to thank her for encouraging Paris Jo 2012...
Well they said to that the song is not performed originally by Yves montand ,but first by Francis lemarque...So here is the song ,the sound is more speed and pop ...lol..

My bad !!! I meant I received a MAIL from them    A letter and two pics. Nothing new nope. Video coming soon, but as I said, there's nothing new in it either !! We don't see Céline sing it. But we will in the next 6 weeks on radio !
